N stayed at my SIL's house last night and apparently was up from 1-5 am.
My thoughts are simultaneously: "Omigosh! I feel so bad! Poor SIL" and "What did she do wrong?" because seriously, N has not done that since she was 4 months old. She has woken up exactly 3 times after going to bed since she was 4 months old, and each time it was sometime around 11/12 and she went back to sleep within 30 minutes of waking up.
She does often wake up in the middle of the night, cry for a bit, and go back to sleep. Actually, sometimes I thinks she's crying IN her sleep. I always ignore those wake ups because she goes right back to sleep with no issue. She was sleeping in SIL's bedroom so what I bet happened is that SIL responded quickly to that kind of crying, and then woke N up all the way, and then N got wired, and then SIL wouldn't let N cry herself back to sleep, and so she ended up being awake all that time.
I guess N won't be sleeping at their place anymore. Or anywhere where she can't have her own room (unless maybe with us).
I can't let go of this feeling of guilt. But I also just can't let go of the feeling of "if she had only listened to me when I told her how to handle a situation like this..."

Obviously there are 2 sides to every story, and the truth so hopefully this gets resolved. If it turns out that the officer was just using this guy for target practice and there was no threat I hope that he gets the book thrown at him. If it does turn out that the guy was trying to obtain his gun and the officer felt that his life was at stake, I hope that he can resume a normal life after his name is released.

I am so freaking tired the last few days. Also I have the runs.

Unfortunately this is a perfect description of my disgusting body right now. I'm wondering if it's some bug with no other symptoms though, because yesterday G seemed to have it too. He ran through the house and said, "I gotta go mom!" and when I went in to help him he blew out and then said, "mom that was really fast and really stinky." So it seems he has the splat attack too.
Or we need to stop eating like 20 gallons of fruit a day because it's summer.
Yesterday I got a call to interview for a job in an after-school program. I set up the interview for Monday at 10. Today I got a call for an interview for a part time job actually in a school, which is more likely to pay better and lead to a full time classroom. Her message said she wants to set up the interview for Monday morning. They really aren't close enough for me to do both on the same morning. Do I just tell her I already have an interview set up for then and ask if she can do a different time? I feel like I should bend over backwards to get this job, but if I don't get it, I don't want to miss my chance on the other job.
@cricket81 I would definitely say you have a prior commitment. No explanation is necessary.
Also when people have an explanation and I didn't ask for one I presume they are lying
