• @snmetz7 Thank you for the hugs.
We have hit some really unexpected financial problems and it's causing so many issues with getting us out of our Civic and into something our family can actually fit in.

• I think I'm now going to start my day with a warm cinnamon roll and coffee, thanks to @mrscrcalli! It's so gloomy with everything melting, peoples' cars are getting stuck in the street, and I had intense hip/lower back pain all night coupled with jabs around my ovaries. Like, take-your-breath-away strength jabs every time I finally got comfortable.

Is this week over yet?!

@mamamonzo my hospital for my DS allowed skin to skin. I didn't get to because my son was born at 37 weeks and had some breathing problems at first. It was about 4 hours until he could be with us.
My DH actually was telling another pregnant couple last night about c sections and was saying yeah the baby gets taken to the NICU for the first few hours while mom is in recovery. I had to stop him and explain to him all babies don't require NICU visits..

Was DH not allowed to go with him? I'm so stressed out that I'm not going to see my baby right away. Am I going to be so out of it that I'm not really going to care. All I can picture is sitting in recovery begging for my baby and people ignoring me.

C-section mamas, did anyone try to do skin to skin right away? My ON said she would really fight to let me do it, but sometimes the hospital gets weird about it. If you didn't, did you have DH do it?
Just jumping on for some bump time to take my mind off things for awhile. My last c-section wasn't an emergency, so after he was born and I was being closed up, he was on my chest for skin to skin and left me for a little bit once we got back to our room because I was having some issues, but he was with my husband.

My DH went with him. I gave him strict orders to not leave our son's side, but he didn't listen and I'm so glad that he didn't. He took pics and videos of our DS in the NICU and brought them back to me in recovery. I would then send him back and I slept for a little and then he'd come back with more updates and pics/videos. It was so reassuring. The NICU people told him no videos but he didn't listen.
• https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=r2LiFsdrXF4&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dr2LiFsdrXF4 This slightly improved my day. Pretty sure this is how cheesy my friends and I sounded when we tried to legit sing it in the car senior year.
My husband says he hates the reliance (by Jimmy Fallon and SNL in general) on "musical humor"...but I think it's hilarious!

They just ditched me in the recovery room alone. I couldn't get up (obviously) and had no idea what was going on.
That happened to me but it was because my son had to be rushed to the NICU since his limbs were turning blue. I was told I'd get to hold him when I got to the recovery room but nobody's there so I start worrying. Then my poor parents pop by to say congrats and I ask where is DH and DS and they said "oh they took him to the NICU" and I started crying thinking the worst. Argh, tell a mama what's up!

• I hate bitching about DH, but GAHH I'm so frustrated.
He's been on a 'diet' for about 3 weeks now, focusing on being low carb and high protein/veggies. So yesterday he brought home some chips and said he was only going to have some to curb cravings. He stayed up late playing a video game, and left the bag of chips out. He ate the ENTIRE bag. Like, how do I support him when he binge eats like this?
It's ultimately because he stopped drinking, and recently started having a cocktail before bed. He wants to have some before he can't anymore when the baby comes. When he drinks, he binge eats.
So I gave him the cold shoulder this morning and told him I have a hard time supporting his diet when he does things like this. He didn't take me seriously and left for work without kissing me. I'm just so pissed, and I can't tell if I'm being irrational or not because of these damn hormones. UGH.

I'm dealing with this same situation!!! My husband is 37 years old and has hypothyroidism and eats like a frat boy. Drives me INSANE. He complains about his weight and goes on "diets" that make no sense, and goes to the gym once or twice a week and can't figure out why it's not helping. He thinks nachos are healthy because tortilla chips don't have gluten. Same with pulled pork BBQ. Baked potatoes are healthy because their a vegetable, and adding a cup of ranch and shredded cheese to it is just fine. And god forbid he go a night without beer. But guinness has the least amount of calories so two or three is ok. What is the deal with men? He won't take my advice even when he asks for it, and I suggest he see a nutritionist for help but then he tells me I'm nagging on him about being fat, and I'm just shallow because I work with actors and models all the time. No, I'm just sick of him bitching about himself and teaching our kids bad habits honestly. After so many years it really is hard to stay encouraging, because they just don't care. His whole family is this way, his brother and sister now have diabetes and his mom just had gastric bypass. Other than offer healthy dinner suggestions, there's nothing I can do for him to want to be healthy.

• I just got back from the grocery before the snow started, nearly raided the bakery section, and am making a huge pasta salad that I know DH will hate. More for me!!!

But I AM making him beef barley soup with baguette for dinner though, so don't any of you ladies start feeling bad for him ;)

OMG are we married to the same person?!?!
The thing is, this is the first time he's admittedly gone on a diet. He has always said that diets are bullshit, and that exercise is more important. When he realized that walking a mile every couple of days wasn't doing anything, he realized that he might need to eat healthier. So I went out of my way to create a nice, healthy meal plan, go buy him salads from Trader Joe's for lunches, and support him when he tells me he's hungry or craving something.
His 'healthy' cocktail is a rum and diet coke. But his 'one' cocktail is a GIANT cup with probably 3-4 shots of rum, and he drinks it literally 10 minutes before bed.
And he just can't figure out why he's not losing weight faster than he expected. I am trying SO hard to support him but it's just getting really ridiculous.
I think we all have the same husband. Mine has been complaining that since things have gotten really busy for him at school that he has gained weight from not watching what he eats/working out. He claims he is "exercising regularly and watching what he eats", when really what he means is he is working out every other weekend and eating cookies for breakfast before skipping lunch to "make up for breakfast". I try to convince him that this way of losing weight is not sustainable and will backfire for him, and inevitably he turns it back on me - if I'm such an expert, why do I have problems losing weight? I know enough to know not to skip meals and eat cookies for the meals I do have!!

That looks delicious! I just pinned it and really wish I had a zucchini at home. By the time I leave after work, it will be snowing hard so stopping at a grocery store probably won't be a good idea.

I did not get skin to skin right away but my H stayed with her and held her the entire time until I could. It was beautiful!! She has a special bond with her daddy that I just adore. If you cannot get that time with your baby, then tell your SO to hold the baby until you can. My H would not put her down unless it was for me to hold her. I still get emotional about it.

• I think I am going to leave work early today. The more the day goes on the more I want to TP someone. I am burning up. Like going to spontaneously combust. It is insanely humid here and 74 degrees and we are about to get storms and tornadoes. Blah.

Heard a lady on the radio today who knew a girl named Airwricka. That is Erica if you were wondering. :/

I saw this not too long ago on FB!!
