Umm there are 5 Saturdays or less until I have two sons. We keep talking about going to buy buy baby (about a hour away) to test drive strollers but our weekends keep being too busy. This Saturday is busy so I have 4 more options or less?!?

Also, I find it amazing that no one can hear me speaking to them, but the second they (DH& DD) hear me opening something with a plastic wrapper they're right there.

Has anyone gotten their completion coupon from BRU yet? The guy at the store said it usually arrives right at your due date. That seems bizarre to me.. I need a car seat before then. :P

I just got mine in the mail yesterday, and obviously I'm not due yet  :P. I was told you'll get it approximately six weeks before your due, but I'm due April 11 so it came closer to seven weeks before.

According to the 65 year old woman I spoke to on the phone, I shouldn't have to pay.

Only time will tell. I'm insanely leery of insurance companies these days...

Eta: still paying for the MW OOP, BUT I heard someone say that if you submit the bills to insurance after you've paid them and you've had a successful birth, they sometimes pay it back to you.

So I was updating my family recipe book, and came across a recipe for s'mores treats! I thought of you ladies--it's basically the same premise as a rice Krispy treat, just made with chocolate, marshmallows, butter and Golden Grahams cereal. The recipe is pretty easy to google, but let me know if any of you want it

And then found the emergency help button in the exam room. I didn't even know that existed. And he had a fit the doctor sat on the stool with wheels that he decided was his personal toy.

I really need to wake him up from his late nap so he'll sleep tonight, but I also reeeeally want to just let him sleep until DH gets home. I don't care how much extra I have to pay daycare, I will give them anything to keep him late so he can stay there and nap while I'm at the doctor from now on.

Also I need to start dinner but the kitchen smells gross from the mess DH left when he cooked. Ew.

Yikes!! I have to take DS to mine next week, now I'm nervous!

@lia619 I'm glad you got it worked out! I'm not smart enough to get to the point where I need to write a dissertation but it sounds like a lot of work! Don't worry about the chair, I bet he isn't married? Sounds like he isn't and that's why he doesn't understand.

Enjoy your shower, work on the paper in car or something. You deserve to have some fun and some cake!

AHHHH......I just had the talk with my boss about when I was going to graduate.  I went in there hoping to stay until December but he wants me to graduate in June!!  I really don't want to have to write and defend my dissertation with a 6wk old in tow!  I tried to compromise with him and say I would leave at the end of July but I think he is really going to push for June   WAHHH....I planned all of this thinking I would be able to work from home, still get paid and have health insurance through my maternity leave.  Anyone know of job openings in Seattle?!?

I have a similar complaint! I'm Caitlin and always get asked if it's with a C or a K, but they never bother asking how to spell the rest of it. The C versus K issue is only the first step in the myriad of ways that people destroy the spelling of my name.

lia619 The sad thing is that I know I can do it if I really want to.  It won't be easy, but I will be able to pull it off....I probably could have graduated last December if I really busted my butt.  It's just that I get paid and have awesome health insurance and my baby is going to have 2 major surgeries in the first year of life so I was dragging my feet and trying to stay in as long as possible.  Finding a new job is just so daunting especially if you are trying to do interviews while 8mo pregnant!  Plus I will probably make less money on a post-doc salary than I do on my graduate student stipend when you factor in the benefits like health insurance, child care credits, and income based subsidy programs.  I'm the opposite of you, I don't want to be done with school, I'm very comfortable here!  Wanna trade places??

Omg! DH just came home and was talking to his brother. When he got off the phone he told me that his brother was telling him that his mom has decided she is not going to call our son by his name, that instead of George she is going to call him lil Joe and is convincing the rest of the family to do so. When we go visit, if anyone refers to him by anything other than George, I will TP them!

But seriously, work is not the place to play on FB/TB all day and then complain you got a virus. Do your job and mobile bump on breaks. Duh.

Maybe I'm extra sensitive because I have a coworker who is on FB all day and makes a billion personal calls and works for her other job while she's here (but denies it adamently) annnnd comes at 9 but leaves by 2 just about every day.
