I was giving a 5 year old a speech test the other day and when we got to the jello picture, he had no idea what it was. I was like, Whaaat? What kid doesn't know about jello?? Poor child, they probably only eat creme brulee for dessert (Remember the movie, My Best Friend's Wedding?).
If you ask DD what people eat for Thanksgiving, the first thing on her list is jello.
My mom used to make "jello salad" for Thanksgiving that included applesauce and red hots in a fancy bowl. I love how loosely the word salad is used. Now my sister has carried on the tradition. It wouldn't be a holiday meal without it!

First of all, I totally understand that being Team Green colors my opinion. But is it really that bad if your anatomy scan shows a different sex than at your early elective u/s? You still have a TON of time to return/exchange/"fix" things. I don't understand "stressing" over it.
I'm not team green and I feel the same way. Hubs and I still joke that a boy will pop out instead of a girl that we have been told twice now. Then again we have gone gender neutral on all the big things since we plan to have more than one baby anyway.

**edit: fat fingers** I'm going to go ahead and try to ignore the guy that has been whining to DH for 5 minutes now about how they're $1600 short for a down payment on a house ($200,000 house...). Sorry about your life, but we can barely pay rent right now as DH is finishing school and I work for a nonprofit. This guy works full time and his wife is a night shift nurse. Sorry you can't get your dream home, but I really couldn't give fewer fucks. And don't look to us for a loan- we spent over $4000 paying for our loss this year.

@snmetz7 ME! I am down to four cuties because I've been devouring the bag this weekend. Citrus just tastes soooo good right now--I may even go out in the frozen tundra to add a grapefruit to today's offerings.
I'm feeling pretty down today. About 35 of my friends went on a party bus bar crawl last night and I (obviously) didn't go. Thought it'd be fun to catch up over brunch, but apparently pregnant ladies are no fun when it's "mimosa time"! I posted a status on FB asking if anyone wants to do brunch but the only friends responding are the "if I wasn't.... I totally would". That doesn't help get pancakes and hash browns into this belly!!!
My poor Lions. I bleed blue for my Detroit Lions. This game in Philly is going to be so sloppy! We can't see anything! It must be so cold! And Philly fans!?

I watched a couple episodes from last season. It's so hilarious to see them having serious talks/arguments with each other while one is sitting with their legs apart. HOW COULD YOU NOT LOOK AWAY FROM THAT?!
DH and I usually attend both services at church on Sunday mornings because he's usually running the sound board and I am either helping in child care, on the worship team, or running PowerPoint/lights. Well I was scheduled to do PowerPoint this morning for first service and somehow DH and I were there on time for once (7am to unlock the building). By the time first service started at 9am I was already exhausted. When it was drawing to a close I asked DH to take me home between services (we live 5 min away), but of COURSE someone started talking to him as we were bundling up and DH isn't good at ending conversations. By that point I was deliriously tired and almost burst into tears. We finally got out of there and while DH was driving me back I burst into tears, telling him I didn't want to be away from him. This is probably because 1) I'm pregnant 2) I'm tired 3) I was having some pain, low in my belly, just above my pubic bone and it's been freaking me out (on and off for a few days- guessing RLP?) 4) his car is almost out of gas and by the time he dropped me off he only had 10 minutes until the next service is supposed to start (DH is a scary driver sometimes anyway so I hate when he is running late). I made him take my car instead. I'm going to have a snack then go to bed- even though naps lately leave me feeling horrible when I wake up. Ugh.

((Hugs)) piney I'm sorry you had a rough morning.. Get cozy and watch a movie till you fall asleep. I'm doing the same thing so it's kind of like a slumber party.

I've also been having a weird ache in the same area on and off for the last couple days. I swear my bump has gotten bigger this morning so I'm just going to go with stretching pains. But I went home from my Christmas party early last night because it freaked me out. I told everyone I had heartburn. ha.
Feels you also on the naps. Naps make me cranky and nauseated but they feel so good when having one. Struggles.
Sorry you're having a bad Sunday. Hopefully it'll turn around and you'll have a good rest of the week!
The wintry mix we were supposed to get later today apparently has morphed into a blizzard that showed up 3 hours early. I think I'll have to break out the snowsuit early that was supposed to be a present from Santa...
DS hasn't seen snow since he was 9 months old, so he's fascinated. He decided that it's called "uh-oh rain."
Do you live in VA or MD? Because samesies. I didn't have to go into work though so I'm loving it!
So.much.snow! I didn't really think this area got that much snow. At least I was finally able to start the snow blower on my own after owning it for four years. Yay!
So much for my productive weekend with DH gone... I did laundry - go me! Which then caused me to want a nap, so I did :-) and that pattern just continued with lots if eating in the middle. My body must have needed rest is what I'm telling myself any time I feel guilty about doing :-)
Today I have the "can't get comfortable bug" soooo cleaning it is. I've completed the kitchen, cleaned out a closet, finally put up last of Christmas decorations, and washed all the clothes. Now I am bored.....
Ladies day in Frankenmuth! Getting my free birthday meal and seeing a living nativity </p>
What's Frankenmuth??? 8->
A German tourist trap in Michigan with the world's largest Christmas store. Lots of German food and beer, horse drawn carriages, little old dudes in lederhosen playing polka on their accordians. It's my happy place.
OMG I haven't been to Frankenmuth since I was a little girl! Can't wait to take my son there someday Have fun at Bronner's for me!!
My grandparents used to live in Bloomfield Village, so we'd go when we visited them. Sadly, they both died when I was in high school, but when baby is old enough, I want to take him to Frankenmuth, Franklin's Cider Mill and Mackinac Island--all our old Michigan haunts
I have yet to find a Christmas store anywhere near Bronner's quality in Minneapolis. Someday....

OMG....sauerkraut sounds both SO amazing and like the worst idea ever. I would still eat ALL of it and secretly hope my heartburn medicine could stand up to the test.

I've been to both- Leavenworth wins in the scenery department (there are snow covered mountains, mmmk!) but overall Frankenmuth is my fave. Probably because of the chicken. Oh dear goodness, the chickennnnnn.

I'm very much considering buying a crib at BRU. Even at 179$, with shipping and VAT, its still 1000$ less than a comparable, yet not as nice looking, crib. I still shake my head when I do price conversions sometimes!
DH brag: he came home from a ten hour day lastnight and insisted we go to a Christmas concert (which we both agreed was disappointing but he was so sweet taking me out), noticed the rare make up application and complimented me, and today he took me to a movie, lunch out, and is now taking me to a kid store to look at baby toys and books (his idea)!! What a great weekend!
