    @brookert615 I sent you a PM!

  • @brookert615 ooOoOO. My Mom would only let me get one ear pierced w/ additional holes, but my ears were really sensitive, so they never worked really well. Anyway--COOOOOL.

@bows22 Yes! So glad you love it! NOLA is so so easy to love I also love it there & learned to love it there very quickly. I love that you tried to tip them enough to play "Country Roads" haha! Is today your last day there? Have so much fun! <3
  • bows22bows22 member
@kagesstarshroom DH goes home tonight but then I’ll be here until Wednesday for a conference. But I probably won’t do too much on my own. We had a little too much fun last night and are paying for it today

@b_1029 yes we were at a great bar during the race and it was so fun to watch! everyone was really into it
  • @bows22 and @brookert615 small world! Mh went to Peters township high school, which I believe is where perks of being a wallflower was filmed. I figured @brookert615 might be close since the mention of sarris’ a ways back.
  • @brookert615 I live in Pittsburgh but I'm originally from Cleveland so I am not a Steelers fan!

  • @begging4abump THAT’S WHERE I WENT TO HIGH SCHOOL 😂.

@celticknotfire I think I remember you saying that! So cool we have so many people so close!

@b_1029 That’s so cool! Did you wear a fun hat? Do you have pics if so? Lol

  • @brookert615 NO WAY!! Too funny! Mh’s “yinzer” was showing this morning when he said “cat needs brushed”, and @bows22 I’ve definitely heard him sing county roads on more than one occasion.
  • @b_1029 I went to a derby party & watched! Crazy outcome! MH & I were the only one who dressed to the theme, which was disappointing, but the people hosting were like a generation older than us, so it's whatev. Did you wear a hat and such!?
  • bows22bows22 member
@begging4abump the “needs brushed” thing must have really bothered my mom because I remember her always correcting me on that when I was younger. Every once in awhile I’ll hear myself slip up just because SO many people say it that way. DH didn’t move to Pittsburgh until he was in like 3rd grade so he doesn’t say as many “yinzer” things as I do and thinks it’s hilarious that I call a shopping cart a “buggy”
  • @b_1029 Stunning! Love your dress and such a fun hat!

@spacemountaineer I can confirm that the chocolate cake shake from portillos is delicious! ...I mean, it’s horrible! 😜
  • @b_1029 - Rats! I may have to attempt to make my own.
  • I just want to toss it out there that DH thinks Portillos is bad food. He doesn't understand why people have their sandwiches dunked in the au jus. "Who would want a soggy sandwich?" he says.

Because of this he calls them Portholes lol.

@b_1029 I'm from Louisville too! I work at a TV station so we spend all week at Churchill Downs. I watched the race from home though after working a 12 hr shift. Craziness!

  • @dpchickens The non-Yinzers say that the cat needs to be brushed or that the cat needs brushing. Not a big difference. With my family being from philly, I’m guilty of saying “close” the tv/light. We all have our odd phrases.

@shamrocandroll YES! That’s great news! Hooray!!!

  • @b_1029 - The 1st Tri waiting room threads are actually a new phenomenon. I believe the first one was back in June or July of 2018. It's normally made by a TTGP grad who knows the ropes, but we haven't had a grad for January. The boards just go up like normal like they have for the past 10 or so years.
