My bestie just had a baby yesterday too! I was a bit worried about my reaction but I was so happy too. I cried only a little in the car, mostly just out of excess emotions. I think that's a win for both of us!
@b_1029 Proud of you too!!! I mean, I'm usually a total bitter hag, so if I can be happy for my friends and their babies/kids and/or even go and hold one of them myself, I'm definitely smiling at how proud I am of myself! So you go girl!!!!! #SmallVictories

Maybe the resentment comes from the being pregnant part. I really hated seeing my pregnant relatives, especially since they ALL started trying after us. And honestly, any little complaint for them while they were pregnant was like music to my ears because I sorta wished everything wasn't all sunshine and rainbows for them. Like I literally cheered in my head when my sister mentioned she was 145 pounds at Christmas because for once she was heavier than me. She's a twig that can constantly snack and gain nothing even though she doesn't work out. But anyway...
I'm glad you're feeling happy for your friend!

I posted the other day about my cousin who had her baby as well. Somethings in the air for may it seems lol. Anyways, I also felt excitement and happiness and felt proud of myself. You should feel proud of yourself absolutely !
This is going to be a long recap of my day yesterday, just decided a spoiler would be best so people could skip it if they wanted
TW* Loss mentioned.
My BF and I went to my gyno yesterday to get the results of his SA. He did it twice cause the first time he messed it up. Anyways the dr told us that my BFs numbers were extremely low. Some may remember that he was diagnosed and treated for testicular cancer in July 2018. At that time his oncologist told us that this shouldn’t affect fertility. And who knows, this could have been an issue for him forever. so we forsure will be trying IVF and in Canada, the province I live in does not yet offer any tax breaks or provincial funding for IVF. So we estimate we will be looking at just over 8K per round. So yesteday I mourned the loss of the life we had planned. We want kids more then anything else so we agreed we more then likely won’t do a wedding or travel. All extra money will be going towards IVF. i was an extra bitter Betsy yesterday so I deactivated all social media and I think that will help. I told just my mom and she said ‘you can still have a wedding. Just save up. And stop trying for a baby, it’ll just happen’ she really just doesn’t get it and it’s so frustrating to me because if she just did a bit of research she would learn a bit and know that what she’s saying is foolish.
Oh and TW the BO and MMC I guess were just ‘luck’ of the draw and unexplained as to how they even happened. My dr said it’s something to ask the fertility specialist about which I will but then it’ll be like reliving all of that again which I’m dreading.* END TW
@verydisgruntledpelican0091 I don't pretend to know anything about this, but I'm confused why the oncologist said that his testicular cancer + treatment wouldn't affect fertility? I would assume it would but again I don't know anything about it. Sorry to hear about his numbers.
@verydisgruntledpelican0091 Oh wow. That's crazy. I wonder if maybe you try to do another SA after he can get his count back? I really don't know much but I was under the assumption that you have to wait a time period before you can give another sample since he did it twice yesterday I'm wondering if that messed with the results. It's worth looking into. Something must be working though, so don't lose all hope just yet! Did they give reasoning to jump right into IVF?
I decreased my bump time for a little bit and came back to a Peggy! At least there is one thing I can always count on in life.
MH and I had date morning this morning and went to see Avengers and then to lunch. It was really nice to spend some time together outside of the house for something other than a doctor's appointment!

@verydisgruntledpelican0091 Did the doctor mention waiting a little longer and doing another SA? I think that if cancer treatment effects fertility, there’s a chance that the sperm count will go back to normal after some time (Dr Google says 2 years after treatment ends). I think it is shocking that the doctor didn’t warn of possible fertility issues or give the option of banking sperm before the treatment. Seems like it is a known issue as testicular cancer effects the cells that produce sperm.
The cancer treatment was just to remove the testicle, no chemo or radiation. It’s not uncommon for men that have had testicular cancer to be able to have kids without issues which I assume is why the oncologist told us it shouldn’t affect him chances. If he did do chemo or radiation, that would absolutely have a huge impact on his fertility. He did a test and it was incomplete due to aim 😂 so he redid it with only two days of abstinence so that could have affected the numbers slightly but not this much. We were told for him to start vitamin e and selenium (I might have the spelling wrong) and to re test again in August with a week of abstinence as the sperm (?) regenerate every 90 days.
We got got a lot of info yesterday so from what I’m remembering that’s the info we were given.
We are going to try one round of letrozole starting next month once I finally get a period from provera but the de said the chances are so slim that that would work but no harm really in trying.
@verydisgruntledpelican0091 Wow. Do you think you guys will be able to swing it since he will be gone at that job for the summer? Or are you going to try and stay with him? Sounds sooo stressful.
@brookert615 the job for the summer is still up in the air because it still depends on if the mill he works at will strike and for how long it’s estimated. If they strike and he goes longer then 1 month, I’ll go up with him and we will put all TTC on hold. I don’t think we will begin IVF until September and just try letrozole in the meantime.
@verydisgruntledpelican0091 that sucks but I would wait until you get the repeat SA to stress. If you do have to do IVF that's amazing that it will only cost $8,000/cycle. Does that include a transfer or just the retrieval? I would think that your meds would be cheaper there than in the US too.

@verydisgruntledpelican0091 The two days between may be a factor. I know when DH did his SA, our doctor was very clear that it had to be at least three days since we DTD.
@verydisgruntledpelican0091 gotcha, I didn’t realize they didn’t do any chemo/radiation when I read your original update so that makes sense. Btw, did I miss something with the wedding talk? Did you guys get engaged?
Like @celticknotfire I wish IVF were $8,000 here. Maybe I’ll move to Canada if we get to that point!
@verydisgruntledpelican0091 ah I'm so sorry to hear about the news. I have been in a similar situation. DHs SA came back super low. When we met with the urologist he did say that the count can vary quite a bit day to day, but also seasonally. So I definitely recommend a recheck. We were also recommended to start IVF, since the count was too low to be successful with IUI or other treatment.

We actually ended up pregnant the cycle we met with the urologist and were in the process of additional testing for H.
