We are flying to Hawaii first thing in the morning and will be there for 6 days. And I'm MOH in a wedding there. I still have to pack everyyything. I'm sitting here eating popcorn, Bumping, and watching Parks and Rec. Packing wont be stressful at all, right?
@DuchessOfCambridge She lives in my hometown (where my parents still live), which is such a coincidence because it's a very small town with a population of 2,000. I went to school with her kids, although they were a few years younger than me. She and her family actually bought my childhood home when we moved 20+ years ago. small world.
They turned the heat on in my school apparently, so it was 9,000 degrees in my room today. In reality, it was 85, which is the same as 9,000 when you include the high school students factor. They were especially crazy today too, mostly complaining about the heat over and over. Like I COULD do something about it, but just wasn't. Or as if I hadn't noticed. This one freshman was focused on this microscopic string on his sleeve, asking me 15,000 times for scissors. I finally dared him to say "scissors" one more time! It wasn't not a patient day by any means.
Got the call from my OB. I have to go take the nasty glucola tomorrow and get my blood taken. Getting the test at 9 weeks has to be a freaking record ugh.

I went to view a house today. It's the first one I've kept the appointment for because it's the first one in our price range that I really really like. I kept thinking it was too far away and kept thinking we'd hate it based on pictures. I am IN LOVE. I paid the application fee, am scanning our app with all our pay stubs and crap and crossing my fingers so hard that she picks us. This house is gorgeous and it's $300 less than what most of the houses are going for in this area. I really hope we get it. My son was in love. He cried when we came home 😂 I don't think he understood that we're not moving today despite how many times I told him we might not be moving there we were just looking.
@eatinwatermelonseeds I hope you get it! Also @ibanezstarburst I’m so dumb. I didn’t realize it was 300k until you said it I was like does $300 really make or break a house? 😂🤣😂🤣
@nopegoat he is from just outside nyc and feels like we have already become “hillbilly enough” in his words lol. We live in a tiny town in central ny now. I think we will get there eventually, but maybe once the boys are a little older and can help out. Right now he might have a point in regards to me having enough on my plate.
@psychobutthead hope all goes well tomorrow. One of the ladies in my old bmb was diagnosed with gd in the first trimester. She actually feels like it was a blessing in disguise because she has been forced to be so much healthier for this pregnancy.
@eatinwatermelonseeds hope you get the house. Moving and trying to find the right house is so stressful!

I already eat healthy thats what sucks so much. I changed my way of eating after having my son 100%. I can't eat much better then I already do. I dread the idea of insulin and pricking myself 4 times a day for the next 6 months.

One of the few things I have been able to eat is these peanut butter protein granola bars. It never even occurred to me to not eat peanut butter. Now I don't know what to do since the jury is still out on the safety. Ack.
@lappymom2019 Wait what’s wrong with peanut butter during pregnancy? I know drs are different on what age to give it to a baby, but I haven’t heard about it during pregnancy. Y’all, I’m apparently terrible when it comes to avoiding certain food because I eat it all as long as it’s not raw, high mercury fish, or alcoholic. 🤷🏼♀️

Hard same. If I stopped eating everything that put me at a possible risk of listeria, etc, my diet would be incredibly limited. I avoid Chipotle, try to keep an ear out for recalls, and eat whatever.
I have been told by a few allergists that my eating my son's allergens (peanut butter, Tylenol, eggs) is not why he's allergic. But realistically, I ate/took all 3 a lot. So I'm not sure I believe that.
@megsb615 The food safety guide days peanuts are okay, but this showed up as one of my articles today: From The Bump: "Is Peanut Butter Safe During Pregnancy?"

So true. Peanut butter is fine. Most things are fine. I know it's trite but in all seriousness, people around the world eat all sorts of weird stuff and have healthy babies. @sleepy33 I don't think I could give up Chipotle!!! I admire your strength.

This doesn't seem logical. And I thought the latest trend was that early mild exposure to potential allergens was good for preventing allergies, which has been my anecdotal experience at least.

Haha, I honestly don't eat there all that often these days anyway. When not pregnant, I'm like whatever, roll the dice, I can handle a little e coli in exchange for delicious barbacoa.
@lappymom2019 I usually take the bump’s articles with a grain of salt. I don’t eat it much anyway, and I’m obviously not a doctor, but I haven’t heard of avoiding it. Maybe just ask your dr at your next appt to be sure!
@sleepy33 Girl me too. I pretty much crave sandwiches these days. I had Jimmy Johns for lunch yesterday and a ham and cheese sandwich for dinner. 🤷🏼♀️
@eatinwatermelonseeds Thats interesting. I would almost think the exposure to it would make his body more accepting of it.
@megsb615 I would too, but I ate an egg sandwich pretty much every day for breakfast. I suffered horrible headaches so some weeks I'd need Tylenol daily, and my midnight snack every night during the third trimester was peanut butter and jelly. Every time I eat egg this time, I vomit. So, we shall see how this baby is. And I can't eat peanut butter and jelly because we don't keep peanut butter in the house, and I don't have headaches this time so not as much Tylenol. It's probably just in my head, but it's hard for me to ignore. But realistically if we avoided everything our kids could possibly be allergic to, we'd starve.
There have been lots of studies done that show pregnant/breastfeeding women having peanuts/peanut butter has no impact on the child having allergies, and I tend to follow the science. I feel like you can find an anecdote for each situation - I ate this while pregnant so my kid has these allergies or I ate this while pregnant so my kid DOESN'T have these allergies. I ate tons of peanut butter while pregnant with my first because I love it (literal spoonfuls all the time with chocolate chips on top to satisfy cravings) and he also had peanut butter at 6 months. No allergies. He has no allergies to anything. We each need to do what makes us comfortable and if the science still makes you feel doubt because of what you've personally been through, then limiting or eliminating peanut butter or whatever other allergens is probably better for your anxiety and well-being. There are things I won't do too even if people say they are fine.
Bump articles are the worst for being not grounded in science or misinterpreting scientific studies. I still fall for the click bait though, read it, and then get angry and dismissive In other news, I told my coworkers yesterday that I'm pregnant, so today I am triumphantly wearing an empire waisted maternity dress, and it feels glorious. Definitely in that awkward stage where maternity clothes are too big, but at least I'm comfy!
