@sleepy33@k2k2tog I respect your choice of Hayley Mills over Lindsay Lohan. You're missing out on Lindsay's profound acting skills and expert British accent though. and Natasha Richardson was just a goddess (RIP)
@laeberge3 Insurance is the worst, especially since it’s confusing to me. Husband upgraded our insurance today during open enrollment, so I’m hoping my dr office will be ok with me making one of the payments until they can resubmit it in January when our new coverage kicks in. Makes sense to me, but I don’t know if that works in the insurance world. 🤷🏼♀️
So, those maternity clothes I ordered arrived today. The jeans and the black pants fit great. But the leggings, the thing I thought would be a safe bet? They fit terribly and are not going to work when I get significantly bigger. I think my error was getting the seamless kind. They just feel like they're going to slip down constantly, especially when the belly - which isn't as high as a proper full panel - gets stretched out.
I'm pretty thrilled about the other pants though, so I'm calling it a win.

@lovelybabybumpz I must somehow be in level 2 then because everything takes SO LONG to load on my app. Level 2 is a mild annoyance in response to a snarky gif somewhere
Today on our field trip I got a huge Buckeye brownie. It was tasty...but less than halfway through it was making me feel gross. Apparently this kid doesn't care much for sweets 😕 I guess that's good in an off-handed way?
Meanwhile, I can't stop thinking about jalapeno poppers, and I'm really hoping the creamy white chicken chili I've got in the instant pot does the trick......
@imrachellea What is a buckeye brownie? Is that an Ohio thing? It's like their sports team right? I'm failing at food today and just ordered Panera delivery....
So an insurance question for those that understand it because I don’t at all. I got an $800 bill from my ob’s office, so I called today, and they said it’s the charge for my pregnancy/delivery/postpartum care because I have a $600 deductible. Does this sound normal being charged up front? With my son in 2016, we paid their office after he was born. I think our insurance policy may have changed some, but I was not expecting this. Also with open enrollment coming up, should I add my own health insurance to use as a secondary policy? I’ve always just been on my husband’s insurance. Any advice?
Paging @poshspice who I think is an insurance guru... I'm not sure why you're paying $800 though, if your deductible is $600...shouldn't you just pay the deductible? My OB last go round had an amount they estimated I'd have to pay, and I started making payments during pregnancy and beyond, and then they adjusted the total after he was born (it got adjusted higher bc he was a c section). I want to say my deductible was like $2500 and so that's what I had to pay, but they let me make payments.
@megsb615 it seems odd to me that your OB's office would make you pay $800 up front for a procedure that hasn't happened yet. I'd honestly have to see a copy of your benefit summary or SBC to really see what's actually going on with your plan. You might want to log in to your insurance company's website and make sure your OB is still in-network if your insurance changed. Even if it's the same insurance company, it doesn't mean the network is the same across all plans! Most people don't realize this. If you want to PM me a photo of your SBC, I'd be happy to take a look.
All that being said, my best guess is you may have to pay coinsurance on your plan even with in-network providers. So lets say you meet your in-network deductible, but you still pay 20% coinsurance (or whatever your plan may be) up to your Out of Pocket Max; that may account for the higher cost on this OB's bill. If you think you're being charged for a service you didn't receive, you should take it up with your provider's billing department or you can call your insurance company's billing department and ask them to explain it to you.
@SpaceBurger that actually looks more comfortable than these things!
TW**** I think someone here mentioned the Three Wives, One Husband show that has recently shown up on Netflix? I watched the whole series over the weekend and then did a bunch of reading and found out that the baby born in the first episode died in a fire two years later. So so sad.

@imrachellea I was one of the weirdos in one of the UO posts who doesn't like chocolate much. That's what happens. It's just so sweet, that I can't eat much before it starts tasting gross. Pregnant or not.
@poshspice Thank you! I didn’t think about them possibly not being in network anymore. *TW?* I just went in July for my miscarriage *end TW*, and it was all normal, so I would think it’s fine. My husband upgraded our policy (his insurance through work is better coverage than what mine is), so I’m hoping we will be able to avoid any out of pocket expenses until afterwards. Do you think it’s possible that my OB office will just wait and resubmit it in January, or does it not usually work that way?
Um hey so I just discovered I can get messages? 😂 It doesn't tell me when I have them and just out of curiosity I clicked my inbox and heeeyyy. So sorry if you've messaged me! I'm getting on it!
There's still two in the incubator. If they hatch and they all survive we'll have 19 new babies! This has been a much needed and greatly appreciated distraction lol!

@sleepy33 My chili actually hit the spot for tonight, but I'm definitely making DH stop at Wal-Mart on his way home tomorrow for poppers!!
@RoseShadow873 Basically a chocolate peanut butter brownie. The bottom later was a really thick dense brownie, then a layer of peanut butter, then a thick fudgey ganache on top. I *love* the chocolate/PB combo, but I guess this one doesn't have a sweet tooth 😕
@imrachellea@sleepy33 I bought some jalapeño poppers two weeks ago because they looked good at the grocery store and I was thinking about them all night last night. But... they're all the way downstairs in the freezer in our creepy basement. Too much effort.

Has anyone ever gotten maternity underwear/can recommend a brand? My belly kind of flops over now after having DS, so my normally comfy high waisted underwear are now cutting me weird so it looks like my blump has a roll in the middle.
I found some at kohl’s and was intrigued so I got them. They have a panel that you can fold down or wear up. For how much they cost I am not in love with them though. Better than my underwear that was getting uncomfortable though I suppose.
I’m out of town for training for work for 3 days. I thought it would be nice and relaxing to have a hotel room to myself and just veg, but in reality it’s just lonely. And I can’t decide if I should watch this is us or the challenge!!!
@imrachellea I definitely miss my family like crazy when away. But I think everyone deserves some me time now and then, and I don’t really do a ton of things for me. I feel more guilty when I lose my patience and become someone I don’t like being because I’ve not taken care of myself.
@ibanezstarburst I went with the challenge! I don’t know if a sad show would’ve been a good idea. Bummed I have to wait til Thursday to watch it now though. 👎🏼
Jumping back in. We've been out of town and I just couldn't keep up while we were away. I hope everyone is having a good week
@lovelybabybumpz re: British titles. Basically they are either inherited or granted by the Queen upon marriage. In old times they designated an area or county and the Duke, Earl, Baron, whathaveyou each had a specific job and responsibilities in that area. Now they are simply status. I believe, but I could be wrong, that currently the Queen only grants titles to working royals. So Princess Eugenie and her new husband did not receive titles upon their marriage this past weekend.
