Short version: 19+6. Still a boy! Very obviously which of course made DH proud. Eye roll. Long version: tech kinda sucked. She didn’t explain anything really. Although at the end when I flat out asked her she did say everything looked normal. He’s weighing in at 12oz and measuring 4 days ahead. I was a bit upset that we didn’t get the adorable profile pic that looked sooo much like DH! Two of the ones she did print with his creepy skeletal looking eyes look disturbingly much like Dunham’s puppet Achmed. He was very cooperative though and the whole appointment lasted barely 20 min!
Long version: Baby is doing well and weighs 14 oz. Due me being at higher risk of abnormalities as a result of age and weight, the doctor wants growth scans every 4 weeks for now and more often as I draw closer to my due date to make sure baby stays on track. My first growth scan is the end of June. I had weekly scans and stress tests with my last pregnancy so I'm not worried. My tech did a great job of telling me what she was doing as she went along. Baby is currently breech which explains why I have to go to the bathroom so often. I'm constantly getting kicked in my bladder lol. Scan took about an hour because baby started squirming about and made it difficult to get some of the pictures they needed.
long version: amazing tech who explained everything she was doing and seeing (without giving measurements, etc) and took about 30 mins which was awesome. Little babe was very cooperative and we got about 40 printed photos! Dr said everything looked great and he had no concerns - woo hoo!

@mommy_myers holy cow 40 print outs!? Was it an elective ultrasound you paid for? We got three and two were the same and one was the head on alien shot lol
Long version: She is right on track with measurements. The placenta is more to the front, so I can't feel her move unless I am laying down or on my side.
Had mine today. Everything went really well - no placenta previa, little man had all his parts, and is measuring a day ahead. My favorite parts were seeing his little legs crossed and his nose and lips up close. So cute.
Long version - he was being incredibly active and not overly cooperative, so it took a solid hour or so! But the tech said everything was looking good (although we get the official results from the midwife at our next appointment)
@SweetSweetTooth - it was just our regular 20 week AS. My doc office is so awesome and always makes sure to let mamas know exactly what’s going on! We are lucky indeed!

Saw my midwife yesterday to go over the AS results. She said everything was absolutely perfect! He’s 12 oz and in the 69th percentile. He’s in there sideways right now which didn’t surprise me because I always feel a lot more kicks/movement on the right where his little feet are. When she listened to his HB (139) he was kicking up a storm! She said he kicked his cord because his HB dropped for a little second. Definitely his fathers son! Can’t hold still to save his life. I’ve felt him wiggling and kicking so much the last few days which is the coolest thing ever. All that worry and stress about the scan was for nothing!
Long version: We had a very unfriendly tech who barely spoke to us other than to comment on my diabetes and to ask if I had high blood pressure. She was a little rough with the wand and my hip still really hurts from this morning.
She had me call my Dr for the results of my harmony test because they didn't have them at the hospital. The whole scan took over an hour which really had me nervous but when the dr finally came in he assured me that everything looked good and that the scan results aligned with the blood test results and they saw no abnormalities. She had one of her hands in a fist and the dr needed to get a shot of her opening it and she was just being stubborn. Haha
I do have to go for a fetal echo in two weeks and growth scan every four weeks due to my diabetes.
We got two good profile shots and one of the "thumbs up" she gave us after finally opening her hand.
Stubborn baby strikes again! He likes to get comfy on his belly, which doesn’t make for good heart photography, apparently. He’s 1lb, 4oz today (22 weeks, 3 days) and I get to see him again in a little less than 2 weeks to see if he’s ready to show off that thumper!
@sliztee my boy was stubborn too. He was guarding his heart and casting a shadow last week. I went yesterday and he was sleeping face down nestling up and using the placenta as a pillow! LOL I took a walk and ate a granola bar came back 30 mins later and he was turned but the wrong way still. So I went home had a bunch of fruit, yogurt and a PB&Banana sandwich to get him going. Finally when I went back he was doing so many flips that they could barely get the shot but they ended up eventually. I think the heart is the hardest to get a good clear picture of because there was two other ladies in the waiting room with the same trouble!
Me 33 DH 41 TTC since 2016 Due: October 12, 2018 Location: Ontario, Canada
Long version: scan went really well, which is a big relief. 20w exactly today, and baby is overall measuring slightly ahead, weighing about 13 oz now. My appt was right after lunch, so at first baby was moving up a storm and wouldn’t stay still for her, but then he settled down a bit to let her get some pictures and measurements. He was being super stubborn towards the end though and wouldn’t give her a good profile shot, but after much prodding and having me move around a bit, she was able to get what she needed. My ultrasound tech was great, and she talked through the whole thing, and then the dr came in right after to let us know everything looked normal and she had no concerns. Such a relief to have that behind us now! And I forgot from last time how awesome the super detailed ultrasounds are where you can literally see everything. I can’t imagine what it was like to have babies before all this technology!
ETA: also measured my cervix via the abdominal ultrasound, and I think that was normal too, since she didn’t comment about it.
I keep freaking out thinking they told me the wrong sex. The doctor never said, and we had the u/s tech keep it secret so we could open it after. She said they can't ever say they're 100% but she also wouldn't have told us if she wasn't really certain. And I'm no expert, but I'm pretty certain I can see that there is nothing there for it to be a boy. Just me worrying for no reason as usual.
Short version: found out we are having another girl!!!
long version: scan went well. My OB did the scan and talked through everything and explained all the markers that she was looking for and how she didn’t see any of them. Placenta is towards the back and higher than last time, so that’s great! Little lady kept her legs shut tight the whole time, so OB was looking for a penis for a long time. Said she is almost positive we have a little girl in there and that she has only been wrong once.
Had the scan today, we found out we are having a boy! Everything seems to be normal and healthy, we are so relieved! I also have an anterior placenta, which explains the fluffy bump. Excited and ready to start decorating the nursery!
Had our twenty week scan yesterday... It took longer bc my placenta is overlapping my cervix so they had to call the doctor in. A very scary few minutes, but she said they will just monitor it and she wants to do another special scan in eight more weeks. The doctor is more concerned with my placenta growing into my previous c section scar which apparently is super rare but does happen and is a big deal so she wants to monitor it. Cue a worrisome next eight weeks! I asked a million times if the baby was Ok and the doctor assured us Baby is healthy! Now just need my placenta to move up!
We are still team green, but my mom and MIL keep saying the Baby “looks” like a boy hahah
I’m in the same boat as @mamabearcj, we just left our anatomy scan and we found out that we’re having twins. I have felt that I was big for how far along I am, but I thought that the combo of being overweight and being pregnant with my second baby was the reason. I’m in complete shock. The tech was like, “Did you know you’re having twins? My paperwork says singleton.” I just burst out laughing and crying at the same time. I’ve had two prior US and neither of them showed two babies!!!
short: Team PINK .... IT’S A GIRL!! long: everything went great! Baby is measuring a week ahead as they thought (I grow em big I guess). They said low-lying placenta but at a 4, so they are not concerned. Tech said the baby’s belly was very broad lol we would normally go back for 37 week us to check size but bc of the LLP they will have me come back at 32w check both. Yay!!!
Omg!!! @missmaehurt congrats momma!! I can't believe one stayed hidden so well! Feel free to join the multiples thread and connect with other twin mommas for all your questions. It's a huge shock for sure, how are you feeling??
@missmaehurt Wow, another awesome surprise for our group!! Congratulations!! I’m surprised to hear two previous scans didn’t pick them both up, but so exciting!
@missmaehurt that's crazy amazing! I was curious if you and @mamabearcj had previous ultrasounds and that's insane how one baby was hiding in your other two US's. My husband was like "how does that happen???". haha I think it freaked him out a little bit. Such great news! Congratulations!
Long version: they had a really hard time getting a good view of things. She was folded in half and facing away from us the entire time. The tech did get all the pictures that she needed by the end though. Everything looked really good, except baby had choroid plexus cysts in her brain (soft marker for t18), but without any other soft markers, it's not really an issue and should resolve on its own. I mentioned in another post that DD1 also had them at her anatomy scan which is crazy because they are pretty rare. My OB said that it's just a coincidence. I also found out that I have an anterior placenta.

Short version: still a girl, and everything looks good.
Long version: Baby girl is a future gymnast and was curled up almost the whole time. Her feet were by her head quite a bit, so the tech had a hard time getting some shots. But she also moved around a lot too. Various positions of being difficult lol. They did end up doing a transvag check for cervical length (all good), said it was their new policy/recommendation. Baby is in the 67% weight percentile, so about 14 oz. I do have to go back at 32 weeks for another scan to check growth because I have hypothyroidism, but everything looks good right now. Also I think what I have been feeling is kicks, and not gas, since I could see her legs move when I felt the gassy bubble things haha!
Also, I have what the tech called a post fundal placenta, so location looks good!
