Sorry to those on bedrest! I can only imagine how difficult that is with a toddler. Hugs to you all!
On a side note, we went to one of the free classes at BRU tonight, which was pretty good. It was the basics class. Anyway, we got there early and we're walking around when H found a britax b-safe car seat and base for $100 and an orange sticker that said it was 50% off. We have the Britain travel system and have an extra base on our registry for H's car. We were like if this is for real we are totally getting this because the base alone is like $90...it was for real! We got the seat and base for $53 including tax! Not sure we needed an extra seat but for the price it was like why not?! We ether keep it on H's car or let grandparents use it. Debating if we should just keep the base on the registry for grandparents or take it off because we could move the second one to them if needed. So excited though!

I just hit third tri this week and the exhaustion is unreal. Where did all of my 2nd trimester energy go? I start off the day thinking I'm going to get so much done, and then I crash by lunch and can't do more than watch tv when I get home. That's in addition to all of a sudden being way less mobile. This shit is hard!

@SKZW@Squirtgun I'm so sorry about getting put on bed rest, that is unimaginably hard with toddlers. I've been on restricted movement because of SPD, and even that has made me feel like I'm being unfair to DS. He's a 35lb 3 year old, so I havent been able to pick him up since about 24 weeks. I keep telling myself it'll all be worth it when we have an outside baby!
@ShadeofGreen816 I got a 4oz Avent bottle, up and up baby wipes, honest diaper sample (2 sz one diapers & wipes) baby lotion sample, mustela baby wash sample, a set of nursing pads & milk storage bags by lansinoh, a few one time use samples (boogie wipes, babyganics laundry detergent) a pacifier and a ton of coupons!
I got the same thing but with a 8oz Dr Browns options bottle.
@BabyMC517 Do you know why it was so discounted? You might want to verify it wasn't an open box item or a floor model. They are considered to have an unknown history.
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot ya know I don't think we asked...I know we asked to make sure it would fit the stroller and the guy said yes. He said he thought it might be a newer model...maybe if I call tomorrow they can tell me? If it was a floor model or open box with unknown history should we try and take it back? Can we use it at all? Ugh I hope we can use it and it's all okay.

I'm not sure if this is true everywhere, but at target any baby items that get returned, even if they have never been opened, go straight to destroy. We cannot resell or donate. It seems wasteful, but because of the unknown history @NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot mentioned we always err on the side of caution. I would imagine this is the same at the majority of retailers.
I'm sorry to all of those on bed rest. Hopefully you can find some fun activities to do with your toddlers that don't require to much work on your part. Hobby Lobby and Michael's have some cute seasonal craft packs that usually keep DD entertained.

I am finally done with work travel!! Now to find a temp to take my place while I'm on leave and start training them.

Tell me about these. What are they and what area of the store do you find them in?

@vrj0522 at Michael's I can usually find them on a display outside one of the aisles. The cost about $3 or less and usually go with the season. For instance, DD made some foam turkeys and a Native American girl for Thanksgiving and I got her a banner for Christmas with different characters. My mom found an Easter wreath. All of the packs are that thin foam material.
I haven't gone to Hobby Lobby in quite some time, so I can't remember exactly where to find them there. Also, Target will sometimes have some cute crafty items in the seasonal section.
@Squirtgun: Congrats on the new baby in the family! Yay! Thanks for the support, and hopefully our restrictions will be lifted rather than more strictly enforced.
I have an u/s and ob appt Tues, at which point we'll see which next steps I need to take. My mom lives 7 hours away & will be driving to me today, so I feel relieved that help's in place! This is kind of crappy timing since my hubbs is out of town til Sat night, so having her here will help. Of course, Murphy's Law says this is exactly the right time for this to happen, so...

I'm going to give BRU a call. The seat says manufactured 1/2017. We really were just needing the base and thought the seat was nice as a back up. Do you think the base would be ok but maybe not the seat? FTM so I have no idea how it all works and of course want our baby to be safe.

I would definitely call for peace of mind, but I'm almost certain they were marked down because there are newer models out now and they are discontinuing those prints, or something similar. Hope your great deal ends up just being an awesome find with no issues!
Sorry to those on bedrest! Hang in there! And a big WOOHOOOOO for @Jens_Hoes passing the GTT!!!
Has anyone else felt any rapid/panicked/frantic fetal movements? Something that feels like a short seizure? This LO moves around a lot, hiccups, etc. and I know what all those movements feel like, but twice in the past couple of days, it's had an episode that's more like an extended tremor/quake. It's pretty rhythmic (not like random jabs all coming at once) and you can see my whole belly shaking/quaking from the outside. It only lasts for about 5-7 seconds but it's pretty alarming! I called my OB and they said they didn't know what it was, and that it seemed uncommon but not necessarily worrisome (and they probably couldn't do much other than talk with me unless it happened to happen on the spot). But they said I could certainly schedule an appointment if I'm worried, especially if it keeps happening. So it's basically up to me and I thought I'd check to see whether anyone else has had this happen! Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated!
@L1C4gal I've had that happen once that I noticed. I remember a few other ladies here talking about the same thing. I think I've heard this might be the baby practice breathing with amniotic fluid, or it could be reflexive spasms.
@L1C4gal I have had lots of movements like that. And I was talking with a friend that's pregnant and she felt the same way. Not sure what it is, but I do know that as baby's nervous system develops, it can be very spastic in there! Not sure if that's helpful but you're definitely not alone!
My H and I went to a hospital tour last night. I was pretty happy with it. The only thing I noticed that might be a downside from what others have said here is that they don't have a nursery. But, you can walk the baby around the halls in the wheely crib, so I figure H or a family member could always walk her around for a bit if I just absolutely needed some rest. I did have some really weird labor dreams last night though, now that I have a visual representation of where I'll be. One involved my SIL being in labor at the same time and we were alternating who got to use the bed (she's not pregnant in real life, so not sure where that came from).

@L1C4gal: Me too. Might be uncommon but not unheard of. I know what you mean about tremors, and being alarmed by it. I described my experience to my OB as a boxer's speed bag (the tiny punching bag that goes super fast, that hangs over your head and you punch with both fists in a circle). I asked her what exactly was going on in there and she said (paraphrasing) 'honestly we're not always positive of what the exact motions being made in there are.' Her advice was to keep an eye out for additional symptoms. Hope that helps you feel better?
@starphish18 and @ShadeofGreen816 Thank you both! That's good to know, and the explanations help. I was hoping that the OB would say "nah, no big deal" (they usually do), so I just wasn't prepared for the "it's probably fine but do what you think is best" response. It's helpful to know that others have experienced the same thing! Thanks again

Ugh that is probably my biggest issue with this whole "baby friendly" craze. Even if you need a break or some help they are no longer set up for it. With my first we ended up leaving baby in the wheeled box at the nurses station because we were at our wits end after not sleeping for 3 nights.
@SKZW Thanks! I think my OB nurse said something similar, along the lines of "we don't always know what's going on in there." I'll keep an eye out for anything else that seems amiss. Also, I love your description of the sensation!

I'd say that if the base came with the seat and was there for the same reason (open box or returned item), it wouldn't be useable either. You have to replace both the seat and the base if you have a car accident, so I think the same holds true for unknown history issues. I know the paranoia well. I just had to replace our infant seat because it fell off the shelf in garage between kids.
That said, fingers crossed it was just a great deal! Did you get the original box? Did it look damaged or like it'd been opened?
So BRU said that they don't put seats on clearance if they are returned. She didn't know exactly why it was on clearance, could have been a damaged box or an end cap display that they had to switch out. She said they check them all and make sure that nothing is wrong and that they aren't allowed to even put anything out that might be damaged. That makes me feel better
"A day without laughter is a day wasted." ~Charlie Chaplin
@WombThereItIs I picture you guys sneaking up to the nurses station really quickly with the crib and just booking it out of there.
Heh if only it was that quiet and calm. I literally lost it crying and hysterical from exhaustion at like 2am. I think I told the nurses something along the line of "how is THIS baby friendly? Get him out of here, I don't care how you feed him or where he goes!"
Nobody prepares you for how crazy the second night at the hospital can be. The first night you and baby more or less crash from all the birthing exhaustion but the second night... oh man.

You may want to call the manufacturer as I think display models are a no. But they might be able to tell you differently.

The second night is the worst! The people next to us on our first night were on their second night. DH made some comment like, "If our kid is like that, we're sending her back." And, of course, she was on the second night.
@L1C4gal I had lots of that type of movement with both of my pregnancies. Posterior placentas in both which meant I felt absolutely everything. I would try not to worry (less movement would be what I would spend energy worrying about).
@L1C4gal - I've had those tremor type movements every pregnancy. With this one I feel them multiple times a day.

I shared this in my ticker update today, but...according to my 32 week US today baby is 4lbs 11oz!!! I know they can totally be off, but I was like ho.ly. crap. Who was it here yesterday saying they were close to 4? I hope that makes you feel better I just REALLY dont want to birth a big baby. I was hoping for a 6/7 pounder
@vrj0522@nda_roxybabe Thanks! And I like the term "babyquakes" Okay, I now feel silly for worrying, and it seems like it's more common than the OB line thought. Maybe my powers of description just aren't up to par. I'll keep looking out for anything that feels really off (esp. lessened movement), but I feel much better now! Thanks to all
@nda_roxybabe I feel you! My baby was measuring 3 pounds 6 ounces at my ultrasound Monday which was just over 28 weeks and places him/her in the 89th percentile. One of the side effects of chemo can be slowed growth so I'm super thankful that hasn't been the case, but I'm also terrified that this baby will be 10 pounds.
My insurance won't cover the pump that I tried to order. Since I have HMO, I have to go through my group and the receptionist at my doctor said that the pump that they offer is a step down from Medela. The Medela one didn't work great for me, so I was hoping for the Spectra this time. I think I'm going to have to shell out the money for a new one.
