Baby is very active lately! I've had people notice him at work lol
Ahhh, also yesterday I had an US and we got a peek at baby boys sweet face. BIGGEST tease of my life. I can not wait to see him and kiss those chubby cheeks :,)
Babyquakes over here as well! I remember some of that with DD and feeling alarmed. They really do feel like a mini seizure but it's very short lived. Now I'm just like oh goodness settle down bub.
We just took DD to an open play gym thing this morning where they have a big foam pit for the kids to jump and play in. DD spent almost the whole hour there. She conked out within 10 minutes of going into the crib for her nap. She usually take almost a whole hour to pass out, if at all these days, so it's SO nice for a change.
But now my mind is running like crazy with a growing to do list especially as I'm trying to keep up with the threads. I think it just sunk in that I'm 30 weeks along now and there's still plenty of things to take care of, and nesting is just getting stronger. AH!
@pshaortao The need to nest has really set in for me as well! I feel like I'm starting to annoy my sisters, mom, MIL & fiancé with very small things. Yes, I know they are small, but that doesn't mean I don't want them to get done. lol
Yes to the nesting urges! My hubbs (in response to the bedrest) said "we should have a conversation about what you want to get done" which I thought was really nice, but now that I'm actually thinking about it, there's So Many Things to add to that to-do list.
Part of me is like "we have clothes, diapers, and a place to sleep, so we're all set," but the other part is like "you still need to buy that little basket for the bathroom!" which is so unlike me to even think! let alone be upset about!!
I'm at 30 weeks, which is like 3/4th done, it's so nuts!
The house next door to us was finally sold after 9ish months on the market. I met the new neighbors last night and they seemed like a nice family with 2 small kids. They told me they were moving in tomorrow (which is now today) and to "bear with them". Of course I said that was no issue because everyone moves in.
Well I'll now I'm pissed bc I pull up to my house and some truck belonging to someone helping them move is blocking my driveway. There are a million places to park on the street that aren't blocking anyone's driveway. Who does that??? If the moving truck was blocking the driveway bc that's where they needed to let furniture out I feel like I could let that slide but it's just your random friend blocking my driveway and I'm so annoyed. What if I were in the garage and you were blocking me in? I don't want to say anything bc who wants to start on the wrong foot with next door neighbors just bc I'm a grouchy pregnant lady.
So BRU said that they don't put seats on clearance if they are returned. She didn't know exactly why it was on clearance, could have been a damaged box or an end cap display that they had to switch out. She said they check them all and make sure that nothing is wrong and that they aren't allowed to even put anything out that might be damaged. That makes me feel better
You may want to call the manufacturer as I think display models are a no. But they might be able to tell you differently.
Ok, so after being on hold for like 45 minutes with britax I finally was able to talk to someone. She checked the serial number and said it was not a demo and was most likely an online purchase and returned or even in store and returned. She said they are not allowed to even put it for sale if there was any damage. So basically it sounds like it should be okay but is up to us if we don't feel comfortable with it.

My insurance won't cover the pump that I tried to order. Since I have HMO, I have to go through my group and the receptionist at my doctor said that the pump that they offer is a step down from Medela. The Medela one didn't work great for me, so I was hoping for the Spectra this time. I think I'm going to have to shell out the money for a new one.
Are you able to get one through www.aeroflow.com ? you put in your insurance information and the next day they will send you an email with pumps that are covered and pumps you can get for an upgraded fee. I am upgrading to the spectra s1 for $95. I would check it out
@skzw honestly, I don't know...I'll talk with H tonight about it. im definitely more of a better safe than sorry person so my guess is we'll end up taking it back. It's just tough because when I talked with the store and manufacturer they both made it sound like it's fine and they wouldn't put something for sale if it was damaged. It's just so we trust them or not...ugh I was so excited and now I'm super upset about.

@BabyMC517, with DS1, I was gifted a Chicco Keyfit30 with the base. I wanted the complete travel system, so I returned the seat, box unopened and purchased the complete system. This was through Buy Buy Baby and they said there would be no problems at all, that they would just put my return back on the shelf. I didn't think anything of it because I knew there was no damage at all, I just wanted the complete system. Maybe that's. How you got such a good deal?
@BabyMC517 I guess I'd be a little concerned that they are attesting to whether it has damage. I mean, I'm 99.9% sure it doesn't. But how would they know it wasn't dropped or something and just doesn't have any visible marks? I'm not trying to add to your worry. More so, just annoyed that they would guarantee it wasn't damaged. This is the attorney CYA/liability side of me speaking. Sorry you are in this position!
I would use the seat too. It seems like something that was bought and returned or someone tried to install and brought back because it didn't work in their car.
There are a lot of little DQ rules in car seat ultra orthodoxy and if you try to abide by them all to the letter you're just going to drive yourself nuts. At some point you have to decide what you're comfortable with.
+1 for nesting over here! I had a mini freak out in Target baby section today when I was thinking "I have no socks, no mittens, no pacifiers, the nursery isn't even close to done!" I really need to get on my to do list when I get home from vacation.

I truly appreciate the concerns, experiences, and thoughts. I don't see anything visibly wrong, not even stress marks. Maybe if we take it somewhere to make sure it is installed correctly in the car they can check it more thoroughly? I'm 99.9% sure nothing is wrong with it either, but still overly cautious.

@lrwardrop my doctor should be able to give me the group that I can go through, and I'm just hoping that I can get a better one than what they were telling me is available. The other option is to have him write an authorization for why I need a different pump and then my insurance should cover it. If all of that fails, then I will check the site you suggested. Thank you!

Does it look like it's been used at all? If I were in that position, I'd probably feel better if it looks like it was brand new out of the box when I opened it. If the straps are moved, etc. and the plastic wrappers were gone, than I'd be more concerned. I think I'd be most comfortable if it appeared to be a simple return/exchange unused. I wouldn't be comfortable with a display model.
When my seat fell twice off the high garage shelf, there wasn't a mark on it. Graco said that the impact from a fall is considered the same as the impact from an accident and that there's no way to tell if it's no longer safe for use. Car Seats for the Littles are super conservative in their advice (so take this with a grain of salt), but I know they often cite that no one can visually inspect and confirm.
I fainted this morning so I had to go in for an U/S before my regularly scheduled appointment. Every thing looked good with the baby so the OB ordered some blood work to check my iron again (just had a CBC 2 weeks ago). I drink 6 bottles of water a day but when I mentioned how much ice I eat (4-5 32oz cups of Sonic Ice) she said that could be a sign of anemia. I have also lost 4 lbs in 2 weeks so I may be seeing the nutritionist again this pregnancy since I have been eating and not been sick.

No box...doesn't look like it's been used to me. The straps are all still tight and secure.
Not that the photo will help that much, but here ya go.
@BabyMC517 I would feel comfortable using it after talking to the store and the customer services.
I totally understand the issue with people saying it could be dropped etc. But honestly... how do you know that Jimmy stock boy didn't drop any of the boxes as he was going to put them out on the floor. Or the UPS guy could have just thrown boxes out of the truck in a hurry. Yes you may be able to see damage to the box... but maybe not. You really can never truly know if your car seat was dropped or not. I would consider it a great deal personally!
@BeachMommy2B thanks! I was thinking that too...I've been thinking a lot of things haha I have a feeling we will end up keeping it. Just nice to talk it out with everyone and will definitely talk with H tonight.

If it didn't come with a box, I wouldn't be comfortable keeping it. That's just me though.
Also, the boxes are supposed to provide the most protection. So if a stock boy did throw it, it's in the safest packaging for it. ETA: and if a box was visibly damaged, I wouldn't be comfortable buying it either.
I wore a pair of sandals today that I haven't worn in months ("winter") and my foot was hurting so I looked down to see whats up. Yea, feet are totally swollen. Ughhhhh.

Wednesday I put my work compression socks on for the first time in about a week. They were SO TIGHT. I guess I'm glad I wore them, since I was on my feet all day, but I was shocked. Damn third tri snuck up on me!!
I would use the car seat, but I've bought 3 of our car seats on clearance, typically as they a are getting rid of models to add new. How awesome you got such a great deal!
The sun finally came out today! It's warm (68!! and it was snowing two days ago lol), bright blue skies. I'm so ready for spring and summer.
it's 4:30 am so I'm not expecting tons of responses but that's ok. Has anyone had a day where baby just didn't move as much as normal? I'm 28/5 so I don't know if now that she's bigger she's more cramped in there? I did a kick count two or three times and she always meets the minimum but seems like it takes way longer than it has been and the movements feel more muffled. I do have an anterior placenta so not sure if she just is flipped into a funny position where it's harder to feel? Why does stuff like this always happen on a weekend?? i did use my Doppler and she's got a good HR. I listened for 4-5 min and it was very steady in the high 130/low 140s which is basically where she's been at all my appointments. I'm thinking I'm overreacting? im ready for her to be on the outside so I can watch her breathe! (But not until more cooking!)
@ShadeofGreen816 I remember feeling that Lucia did not move as much a few days around 28-29 weeks as well. She always passed the kick counts, but just seemed like less movement. However, the next day I would feel her kicking and moving around as usual. I also noticed that it happened to coincide with days that I was more active.
Just keep track and call your doctor if you don't feel movement go back to normal. I'd rather call the doctor than be wondering or in doubt.
@mcvgal thanks! I've been lying here feeling for her and got to 10 kicks in like 45 min so that's way more than enough. But they are in different places than I'm used to so I'm thinking she's in a new spot or just somehow positioned differently and maybe it's harder to feel. Nothing like the middle of the night to make you panic
@ShadeofGreen816: Chiming in to say I know kick counts can sometimes be reassuring, but others times more angst-inducing. I'm glad it sounds like your next hour went better! @mcvgal echoes what my doc has said, that on days you're more active, it lulls the baby to sleep and overall it will seem like less activity.
Definitely call to be better safe than sorry. Or do what you did, have some juice or a snack and do another hour of counts. Also, I've learned which times of day are most active; do you know what these times are for you? Maybe keep an eye on when those times are, and you can be better reassured when you feel movements then, know what I mean? Hope you feel better soon!

@ShadeofGreen816 I am same as you 28/5 and anterior placenta. I have had several days where I was panicking bc I couldn't tell if baby moved. I did kick counts and always got to my 10 within the 2 hours. I think sometimes we are too busy to notice, sometimes the placenta gets in the way, and sometimes baby is less busy. I called my OB one of the days bc I was worried and she was totally unfazed. She just reassured me. I also asked my sister bc she's had 4 kids and she told me some of them had predictable patterns of movements based on time of day and others were way less predictable prompting more kick counts. I have had subsequent days where my baby was going crazy. Sometimes using the Doppler helps bc the noise and/or pressure on my belly seems to get her moving.
I guess I just wanted to post to say I'm there with you! It's scary no matter what the stage of pregnancy and I hear it's scary when they're outside too
Trust the mama gut. It'll serve you well, even if there are a few extra phone calls / triage visits / messages to your provider involved. You are your child's first provider and there's a lot of triage in the parental brain that happens before any extra heads (with extra medical degrees) get together to think about your / your kid's symptoms. You've got this @ShadeofGreen816
