@IfYouCanDreamIt it is genetic testing. We've never done it before. I've been doing all sorts of reading about it.

@Hopeful_mom I didn't get to an update on day 2. On day 3, I was told the cell count of the embryos that they transferred. But so far, it looks like your embryos are doing great!! They will keep growing and keep dividing! You're on track

Received the final total. We have 6 embryos that were biopsied and frozen! Based of the ratings, they range from good to almost perfect! So happy. Now, we are praying some come back genetically normal.

@Kp214 GREAT news! How long does it take to get the results of the testing?
AFM the PIO shots are really starting to be a PITA (excuse the pun). I feel like the shots themselves are tolerable, but the cumulative effect is really starting to set in. I've been taking them for exactly a week now (I started out on endometrin inserts, but my doc changed her mind and told me to do PIO) and my behind is so sore. I found them to be more painful on my left side (strange, because I found the menopur to hurt more on the left too) so we've been focusing most of them on the right. My beta is supposed to be Black Friday (25th), but my office is closed that day. I could drive to a different location, but the only one open is 2 hours away and I just feel like that would be silly. So its been moved to the 28th, which will be 16dp5dt. I may have to break down and test before then even though I told myself I wouldn't, but its SO long to wait if I don't.
Me: 30 DH:30 No kids yet DH: Diagnosed with Testicular Cancer in 12/15 resulting in right orchiectomy &one round of BEP chemo. Banked sperm prior to treatment. Not enough in storage to risk on IUI so encouraged to go right to IVF w/ICSI. Together since 2001. Married 10/2013 10/24/16 - Began stims (menopur & gonal f) for 1st round of IVF on high responder antagonist protocol. 11/5/16 - Lupron trigger. 11/7/16 - 13 eggs retrieved; 8 mature; 5 fertilized 11/12/16 - 5 day ET of 1 hatching embryo Beta scheduled for 11/28!
@Kp214 I did CCS actually it's called nexCCS Bc it's the upgrades version. Soon they will not give anyone a choice between the new or old version. I had 6 as well. I had my er on 10/27 and I got the results back 11/11. It did delay a fresh transfer but I got 4 out of 6 back. Good luck.
@Adoc86 Last we discussed with my RE was to transfer 2 I have only done 1 PIO shot so far (second is tonight) and my bum is already sore Last night when I did the first one I thought... that wasn't bad, what is all the fuss about?...Then I woke up this morning and figured it out... OUCH! Oh well, if this brings me a baby TOTALLY WORTH IT Good luck with testing!! I can't imagine having to wait longer than 2 weeks, how nerve racking!!! FX

@shauna43- I think a little get away is a great idea!! Hopefully it will help you get back to a happy place before the next transfer. Each fail is so hard, take it easy on yourself I only had one embryo so nothing to freeze. I'm taking the next weeks to get more opinions and come up with a plan. I'm guessing my next cycle would start mid dec, so that probably wouldn't work to start stimming over the holidays. So likely benched for two cycles and starting in mid jan hopefully. It's so hard to wait but we are also going to get away on a road trip to the gulf coast and Nashville over Christmas. Never been there so let me know if you have any suggestions for the coast during winter if you have been there!
hang in there with the PIO ladies!! It's so not fun but hopefully worth it. For me personally, I found it best to warm the oil first, then rub after injection and then heating pad. Hang in there! Can't wait to hear about all the transfers tomorrow!

@ljsmith805 the FET is 12/13. This has been a long process that started in July. Starting pio soon and that's sounds bad. Good thing I can't see what's happening back there.

@kwolf002. Thanks for letting me know. I was told 4 weeks by a couple of people in the re's office and Ovation lab, the place doing it. The website, though, says 7-10 days. That's great that 4 out of 6 back. You'll be transferring soon! How many do you plan to transfer?

@JamieH2000 thanks! What part of the gulf coast are you going to? If you are driving from Nashville to the gulf coast, taking I-65, you will pass by signs for my area, Huntsville, AL. Also, in Nashville, the Parthenon is nice to visit if you've never seen it. It's different. Huntsville has the space and rocket center, although I've never been. Check out Lulu's if you go to Gulf Shores. I love the tuna dip! The place is owned by Jimmy Buffet's sister.

@Hopeful_mom My two embryos were an 8cell and a 9 cell on day 3. From what I read, 4 cells is normal for day 2 and then 7-9 cells is normal for day 3! Your transfer is today??? good luck! cant wait to hear the embryo update!

I had another scan this morning, those follies are growing slowly but my doc wants to take a little longer with this process, than the previous one, to try and get the max amount we probably wont be ready to do an ER until Tuesday

Our RE took the time to personally email us to congratulate us on our cycle. I took the opportunity to thank her and to ask about doing a transfer in December if the results come back in time. She said we can start prepping me so that if we do get them back in time, we can proceed. I had asked the nurse this, and she had said no. I'm very excited and praying the result come back in time and have some normal!

I didn’t get an acupuncture appointment for today but I’m going on Monday, 3dpt. GOOD LUCK and sticking positive energy to the transferred embryos
AFM - Out of our 3 embryos 2 made it to this day and we transferred them both, one 10-cells and one 6-cells. They had assisted hatching which means the embryologist made a small hole in coat of the embryo that is supposed to help it to implant. Our RE felt really positive about this cycle and we had also a brief chat about my ovarian reserve and it seems that big reserve is gone from the left, which he believed could have been affected by my previous fibroid removal. Anyway won’t be concentrating on that now and keeping focus on positive thoughts and good energy. x

Hey guys! I'd love to come join this thread if I may.... I'm on my 4th cycle and I've just been powering through it alone (well, with my husband, mom and one sis) but honestly, for the most part just keeping a stiff upper lip and managing the emotions and anxiety by myself... and I guess I just wanted to talk to other folks who are actually going through the same thing as me. It just helps so much! I'll be doing some back reading today to get to know you all...
afm: Currently just finished my fourth IVF cycle. ER was this past Monday (11/14) and today is the first day I can tell I'm on the upswing. A touch less bloated. This cycle has been such a rollercoaster for me (still is). I asked my doc to change my protocol and I also started a new supplement a couple months ago (took a break between cycle 3 and 4) and so I was hoping for better results. On my first scan I had only ONE follicle per ovary (never happens!) and by my second scan I had only about 3 maybe 4! I contacted my doc and asked if we should cancel (I just didn't want to go through all of this for one or two eggs) but he said lets stick it out. Fast forward to Monday and 17 eggs retrieved! 12 Mature, 10 fertilized! Just got my day 3 report yesterday and it was: Still 10 developing! 8 cell- grade 1 8 cell- grade 1 8 cell- grade 1.5 8 cell- grade 1.5 8 cell- grade 1.5 8 cell- grade 1.5 10 cell- grade 2 8 cell- grade 2 4 cell- grade 3 4 cell- grade 3 I was flabbergasted! And now of course I'm terrified for tomorrow. Anyway... so glad for a day of not thinking tooooo much about these embies! Hope yall are well.... going to catch up on your stories now...

@JamieH2000 No, I'm trying to do freeze and bank cycles so I can get a bunch up front (if possible). Also I seem to get hyper stimulated a bit and my doc thinks I'll do better with more natural transfer cycles. It kind of sucks to not have the excitement of a transfer after all the drama of stims and ER, but the way I feel right now, I don't want anything poking around in me at the moment! lol @kangastein Ha! no secret... I started taking Nicotinamide Riboside after my last awful cycle. There's no proof it does anything good, but also since its a form of B vitamin, it absolutely cant hurt. I had been looking for a great antioxidant...Here's what I looked at: https://community.babycentre.co.uk/post/a29756145/nicotinamide_riboside https://www.abc.net.au/catalyst/stories/4485468.htm you cant watch the vid at about 7:15 or so and done at about 11:15... Anyways... Who knows. I felt it didn't hurt to try I will say my AMH went from 1.8 to 2.3 since taking this stuff! edited to add... I did an Estrogen priming Micro dose Lupron flare cycle this time!

The other baby was an 8cell so on target for today
The last one I think was a tad behind, so I get y we go for all so they have the best chance!!!
I had to pee so bad I was ready to burst!! Didn't realie u have to wait another 15 before u can move. I was literally was breathing so heavy that it sounded like I was in labor, that's how badly I had to go to the bathroom. I was just sitting there shaking which now makes me nervous like I was supposed to lie still to give it a better chance to be there. I don't have cramping or anything, had way more uncomfort after my iuis.
I did acupuncture before and after so I feel like I've done all I can do, just have to sit and pray they stick!!!
A lil bummed they did have any photos, I kno some places do them, hopefully they'll be plenty to come

@dragonette505 welcome to the board, although I'm so sorry you have been through all that you have. It can be such an isolating experience and I hope that this board helps you to chat through things with ladies who are going through something similar, it is really helping for me. Your numbers are awesome! and they give me hope, I was off to a slow start and not responding so well to the stims with slow moving follies, but hopefully we will start to see a bit more of a spike in days to come
@hopeful_mom I haven't gone through a transfer yet, but I was cringing reading your post. I am the worst at holding my bladder, good on you for getting through it all without any accidents. Good luck with all 3 of your little embabies.

I'm doing some version of the estrogen primed protocol and so I'm glad to see it worked well for you! @natalie4oscar don't get nervous the transfer is the best part! Except not being able to pee... but several times I've gone in with a semi-full bladder and they let t slide, makes everything easier after if its not bursting! But other clinics may be different and @ifyoucandreamit good luck and great to hear that two made it!

@kwolf002 Good luck on your FET! PIO shots are definitely not bad in the moment. For me at least it was the soreness the next day. Last night I had DH use a massage ball to the area after my shot, and that helped tremendously. Still a little sore today, but not nearly as bad. I do also warm the oil before the injection. I just put the vial in a baggie and put that in a cup of warm water for a few minutes. I also actually prefer giving them myself. Maybe because I am a nurse or maybe because I am a control freak, but to me the actual shot hurt less when I did it than when DH did it. It was like I was distracted by what I was doing and not focusing on the discomfort of the injection. Also I work a couple nights a week, so I am going to have to do them on my own a few nights a week anyway.

@dragonette505 I am so sorry you find yourself here, but also so glad you've joined us! This is also my first time on a board, and I cannot tell you how amazing it has been! These ladies are so supportive and knowledgeable, and it is so awesome to talk to others that understand first hand what you are going through! It is also nice to talk to people that you don't have to explain the entire IVF process to every time you talk I was also terrified for my transfer day, but it all turned out fine and now we wait:)
AFM We got an excellent report this AM- of the 5 that fertilized all 5 were growing great today! We had 1 8-cell grade A/A, 3 8-cell B/B, and 1 6-cell B/B! I was so relieved Discussed with my RE and we decided to go ahead and do the day 3 transfer this morning and to transfer the best looking 2! So currently I have 2 buns in the oven, and praying fiercely they are my sticky buns!!! PUPO!! The rest will grow until Monday and they will call to let me know if we have a few to freeze I am over the moon happy to at the very least have 2 babies in my belly for at least a week or two, hopefully 9 months! My Beta is Nov 29th, and I'll prob POAS that morning because I hate getting that call so unprepared. So I'll keep you all posted Thank you so very much for the amazing support this group has been on this rollercoaster!

@hopeful_mom ugh it was so horrible having to pee while the nurse was pressing on my belly! I didn't have any cramping until later that night, though my embie was already hatching when they transferred it so I don't know if that makes a difference or not. Lots of cramps the next day though. Crazy to think you could be pregnant with triplets!

My beta isn't until 12/01. I'm doing IVF out of state in Houston, TX but live in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma, so I'll have to drive 2 hours to the nearest Labcorp in Amarillo for my beta. I don't know if I'll pee on a stick. I've never gotten a positive before, so I'm a little terrified. I guess we'll see... Mine wants me on bed rest until Sunday and then basically couch potato until Tues. seems like such a long time to do nothing!!!

@Kp214 GREAT news! How long does it take to get the results of the testing?
AFM the PIO shots are really starting to be a PITA (excuse the pun). I feel like the shots themselves are tolerable, but the cumulative effect is really starting to set in. I've been taking them for exactly a week now (I started out on endometrin inserts, but my doc changed her mind and told me to do PIO) and my behind is so sore. I found them to be more painful on my left side (strange, because I found the menopur to hurt more on the left too) so we've been focusing most of them on the right. My beta is supposed to be Black Friday (25th), but my office is closed that day. I could drive to a different location, but the only one open is 2 hours away and I just feel like that would be silly. So its been moved to the 28th, which will be 16dp5dt. I may have to break down and test before then even though I told myself I wouldn't, but its SO long to wait if I don't.

hang in there with the PIO ladies!! It's so not fun but hopefully worth it. For me personally, I found it best to warm the oil first, then rub after injection and then heating pad. Hang in there! Can't wait to hear about all the transfers tomorrow!

Also, in Nashville, the Parthenon is nice to visit if you've never seen it. It's different. Huntsville has the space and rocket center, although I've never been. Check out Lulu's if you go to Gulf Shores. I love the tuna dip! The place is owned by Jimmy Buffet's sister.

I had another scan this morning, those follies are growing slowly but my doc wants to take a little longer with this process, than the previous one, to try and get the max amount we probably wont be ready to do an ER until Tuesday

I didn’t get an acupuncture appointment for today but I’m going on Monday, 3dpt. GOOD LUCK and sticking positive energy to the transferred embryos
AFM - Out of our 3 embryos 2 made it to this day and we transferred them both, one 10-cells and one 6-cells. They had assisted hatching which means the embryologist made a small hole in coat of the embryo that is supposed to help it to implant. Our RE felt really positive about this cycle and we had also a brief chat about my ovarian reserve and it seems that big reserve is gone from the left, which he believed could have been affected by my previous fibroid removal. Anyway won’t be concentrating on that now and keeping focus on positive thoughts and good energy. x

I'd love to come join this thread if I may.... I'm on my 4th cycle and I've just been powering through it alone (well, with my husband, mom and one sis) but honestly, for the most part just keeping a stiff upper lip and managing the emotions and anxiety by myself... and I guess I just wanted to talk to other folks who are actually going through the same thing as me. afm: Currently just finished my fourth IVF cycle. ER was this past Monday (11/14) and today is the first day I can tell I'm on the upswing. A touch less bloated.
This cycle has been such a rollercoaster for me (still is). I asked my doc to change my protocol and I also started a new supplement a couple months ago (took a break between cycle 3 and 4) and so I was hoping for better results.
On my first scan I had only ONE follicle per ovary (never happens!) and by my second scan I had only about 3 maybe 4!
I contacted my doc and asked if we should cancel (I just didn't want to go through all of this for one or two eggs) but he said lets stick it out.
Fast forward to Monday and 17 eggs retrieved! 12 Mature, 10 fertilized!

@kangastein Ha! no secret... I started taking Nicotinamide Riboside after my last awful cycle. There's no proof it does anything good, but also since its a form of B vitamin, it absolutely cant hurt. I had been looking for a great antioxidant...Here's what I looked at:

I will say my AMH went from 1.8 to 2.3 since taking this stuff!

I believe the 4A was my over achiever that looked like a day 4, that it was at the stage of too many cells to count, yay!!
The other baby was an 8cell so on target for today
The last one I think was a tad behind, so I get y we go for all so they have the best chance!!!
I had to pee so bad I was ready to burst!! Didn't realie u have to wait another 15 before u can move. I was literally was breathing so heavy that it sounded like I was in labor, that's how badly I had to go to the bathroom. I was just sitting there shaking which now makes me nervous like I was supposed to lie still to give it a better chance to be there. I don't have cramping or anything, had way more uncomfort after my iuis.
I did acupuncture before and after so I feel like I've done all I can do, just have to sit and pray they stick!!!
A lil bummed they did have any photos, I kno some places do them, hopefully they'll be plenty to come

It can be such an isolating experience and I hope that this board helps you to chat through things with ladies who are going through something similar, it is really helping for me. Your numbers are awesome! and they give me hope, I was off to a slow start and not responding so well to the stims with slow moving follies, but hopefully we will start to see a bit more of a spike in days to come
@hopeful_mom I haven't gone through a transfer yet, but I was cringing reading your post. I am the worst at holding my bladder, good on you for getting through it all without any accidents. Good luck with all 3 of your little embabies.

@natalie4oscar don't get nervous the transfer is the best part! Except not being able to pee... but several times I've gone in with a semi-full bladder and they let t slide, makes everything easier after if its not bursting! But other clinics may be different

@kwolf002 Good luck on your FET! PIO shots are definitely not bad in the moment. For me at least it was the soreness the next day. Last night I had DH use a massage ball to the area after my shot, and that helped tremendously. Still a little sore today, but not nearly as bad. I do also warm the oil before the injection. I just put the vial in a baggie and put that in a cup of warm water for a few minutes. I also actually prefer giving them myself. Maybe because I am a nurse or maybe because I am a control freak, but to me the actual shot hurt less when I did it than when DH did it. It was like I was distracted by what I was doing and not focusing on the discomfort of the injection. Also I work a couple nights a week, so I am going to have to do them on my own a few nights a week anyway.

These ladies are so supportive and knowledgeable, and it is so awesome to talk to others that understand first hand what you are going through! It is also nice to talk to people that you don't have to explain the entire IVF process to every time you talk
AFM We got an excellent report this AM- of the 5 that fertilized all 5 were growing great today! We had 1 8-cell grade A/A, 3 8-cell B/B, and 1 6-cell B/B! I was so relieved
@dragonette505 that is a really great report! I hope they all continue to progress and your transfer goes well tomorrow!
@hopeful_mom ugh it was so horrible having to pee while the nurse was pressing on my belly! I didn't have any cramping until later that night, though my embie was already hatching when they transferred it so I don't know if that makes a difference or not. Lots of cramps the next day though. Crazy to think you could be pregnant with triplets!

JamieH2000 thank you! We’d very much like to welcome twins! To be honest I used to be scared about the idea and so was DH but recently we’ve done lots of thinking and talking about it and nothing would make us happier than completing our family with two at once.

My beta isn't until 12/01. I'm doing IVF out of state in Houston, TX but live in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma, so I'll have to drive 2 hours to the nearest Labcorp in Amarillo for my beta.
