TTC After a Loss

Re: **June TWW**

  • @fivetimesnoluck I haven't taken progesterone, but it wouldn't surprise me if the suppositories could increase the odds of a UTI.  I would definitely encourage you to call your doctor if you think you have one.  I had one last summer when I was in the TWW and it was not a problem to get pregnancy-safe antibiotics from my PCP.  Feel better!  UTIs are no fun.

@MooFish2364 I'm wondering if there is a change in my cycle since the d& e too... I have nothing to really compare to except my cycles before. It's seriously messing with my head now.

  • Also it's Thursday and no af yet. Tested yesterday morning and this morning with BFN's. af 4 days late according to my calculations, but comparing with cycles before d& e so maybe they have changed. Only time will tell! Keep you all posted! DH and I are starting to go cray! Thinking about getting an ept test or first response for tomorrow morning since I've been using wondfos.

  • @baileygirl - IF I am pregnant (still no AF) we'll make it work - I'll have unpaid mat leave but I'll be able to take it (I think). I spoke with one of the committee members after the job was offered and she says if I give birth mid semester they'll find a way to cover my classes - and if I have sick leave accumulated then I'll get paid, if not I won't. Whether she meant right away or not - I don't know. But they want me so I hope that they'll find a way to work it out. IF I am pregnant I ovulated before the interview - and I'll talk to my ally before telling the department but I'll tell them with 6 months notice (based on EDD). I figure they won't go through another faculty search if they can have me back and on the ground running faster... they liked me better than what they had available locally.

@chloe97 - I don't know what I'll do without all y'all - I'll head over to the PGAL group but I'll lurk here. I feel so connected to you and I don't know who is over there. I haven't tested yet but I've lurked over there because I worry about how I'll feel with a BFP after a loss. I think I recognized a few people, but it doesn't feel like it does here. And thank you for the comment about cramping - I don't remember it quite like this last time but my memory isn't always the best...

@SnobunnieMel - FX that this one is a sticky baby for you and that I can join you where ever we transition to because I want familiar faces, though I'll keep lurking here...

@bornready - I'm sorry you're not feeling hopeful today but I'm glad your IVF meds arrived and that you have a plan for going forward. I don't know about you, but a plan always helps me.

@chloe97 you're a bad influence you know - lol - I was thinking the same thing. I think our testing plan is still going to be tomorrow, but maybe not at 3am... I've started getting worried and then trying to reason myself out of the worry.

The issue would be that if I am pregnant I'll give birth in February and that is only 6 months at my new job so technically I don't qualify for the FMLA (right?) - they don't have to save my job for me BUT I reason that they won't hire someone else because I'll be back before that process would even get to the interview stage unless they started before I gave birth - and that would be in violation of the contract that I'll have signed by then... They'd have to get the funding approved by HR, get the position approved by the board (I think), they'd have to post the job ad (at least 30 days), they'd have to interview first round, interview second round and then hope the person wants the job without a contract in hand... They wouldn't have anyone until August. I'd be back for marking at the end of May - and I'll teach in the summer session because DH won't have a job by that point (if I'm pregnant it wouldn't make as much sense unless there is a ridiculously good opportunity).

Does this logic make sense? There are a few of y'all familiar with academia - does my reasoning make sense to you?

  • Totally not trying to SS at 8 dpo, had a few waves of nausea this morning, trying to attribute to my breakfast or prenatal pill. Last BFP I did not have any symptoms at all the entire pregnancy so I am not sure when/if symptoms would start! I also went a little OCD and keep comparing my BFP chart to current chart and they seem to be following the same temperature trend but not trying to psych myself out too much! Just trying to hold out until 14/15 DPO like I initially planned.

@SnobunnieMel the draw was just before 8 a.m., and I usually hear bw results early afternoon.  I just checked my phone to see when they called with progesterone levels last week, and it was 1:15...need to get through the next few hours.  When is your draw, and when do you typically hear?
