I’m kind of in shock!  I used another FRER this morning and got a super squinter. Like a “hold it up to the window” to see the second line kind of squinter. It wasn’t there yesterday though so I’m going to be cautiously optimistic!  Also I’m going to open another FRER and hold it up to the window to see if I can see a line without using it!

AFM well I don’t know what it is, but I saw 7 follicles at our scan this morning. All within 5mm of each other. And my estrogen has risen to 40 from zero last Thursday. LH sitting at 5, got to watch that as if it goes up might need more Lupron... 
RE has now moved me back to every day meds and back in for monitoring on Wednesday again.
I’m trying not to get too excited as it’s very early in the cycle still but... I’m really hoping MDL is my magic wand.

@emmasemm keeping everything crossed that this is your cycle and protocol. 7 is a great number to see!  I ended up at the ER today because of my back.  It went out Friday evening, and I’ve been bedridden since then due to the pain of standing and sitting.  The pain has been excruciating all weekend. My RE gave the ok for painkillers and an epidural. The painkillers made me feel weird and didn’t really help the pain so I stopped them yesterday. That was a mistake.  The ER didn’t help much. I called my orthopedist’s office and his PA was a jerk. He acted like it was my fault that they had done a more conservative approach for my back since I was trying to get pregnant and didn’t seem to get that the situation had gotten worse. Ugh!  I’m better now. FYI, my RE “promised” that the narcotics, epidural, and heating pad wouldn’t have a negative impact on the embryo.  I’m hoping she’s correct but worry.  Sorry for the novel.

@emmasemm 7! That sounds great.  What measurement is your E2 level tested? It sounds like you made a great jump in a few days, hoping this is great protocol and cycle for you.

I am going into the clinic tomorrow for the first ultrasound and blood work, will post the results, really hoping for some improvement from the last blood test.

@Kp214 I am glad to hear your back is feeling a bit better and that must have been awful pain over the weekend I hope it sorts itself out soon and wish I could give you some suggestions but looks like you are trying different things and one of them has got to help.

@bakerstreetboys yay!!  Darker is darker. I think that’s a good sign. Hang in there. I tested this morning with a cheap one. It was bfn. That’s ok. If it’s still bfn on Friday, I’ll feel certain it didn’t work.

Just got back from the clinic, the ultrasound only showed 1 and it was small RE said we should cancel and did not even recommend an IUI.  I am waiting for my RE to look at blood levels and to call and advise if cancelling is the way to go.  Pretty distraught and feel defeated

@JamieH2000 sorry work is so busy. You must be exhausted. I hope you’re able to rest. I tested this morning with a cheapie, and it was bfn. DH just came home and insisted I test with a frer.  It was also negative. I’m okay with that. It’s still early, but it might be for the best given my back issues. I’m to have an epidural tomorrow. So, if you all could send good thoughts and prayers that it works my way, I would appreciate it. I really don’t want to be bedridden for much longer. 

@Imajin99 have you heard from the RE?

@Imajin99 I’m so sorry lady:( canceled cycles are so very upsetting:(. I hope you get to talk to your RE, I know how awful it feels to get canceled, and it sounds so silly but every cycle really is different.  Thinking of you.

AFM - still slammed at work, Lupron starts tomorrow am...jabbing myself makes me feel like I’m doing something so I’m happy about that;). I’m scared about the Lovenox but that doesn’t start till the 11th.

@kp214 Praying that this epidural works for you and you finally feel better and can move around.  I suffer from chronic back pain and a few years ago it got quite bad and had to keep going to ER for morphine shots that only helped for the short while.  I looked into having the epidural shot and spoke with a dr/specialist but at the same time I found an amazing chiropractor that was able to help. I see him few times a year now when I can feel the pain creeping up.

AFM: Nurse called and said RE will schedule a follow-up soon, I asked her to see if it would be worth it to continue with medication for a few more days and have an IUI. I would at least feel like I am doing something.  RE called and said that would be fine.  He is only keeping me on Menopur in the evening and I go in on Thursday for bloodtest and ultrasound.  What are your thoughts? Is an IUI worthwhile in this situation with only 1 follicle? I will keep everyone posted and will book consult with RE soon but after this IUI I just want to take a break. Any other suggestions of a protocol that works well for low AMH? My DH wants us to have a consult with another clinic as well before next IVF.

@bakerstreetboys like they ladies said darker is darker that's awesome! When r we not nervous!! I was pregnant with twins and a singleton and my pregnancy test looked almost the same!! I'm very hopeful! Hang in there!!!

@Imajin99 remind me, do you also have male factor infertility to deal with?  If not, an iui or timed intercourse seems reasonable to me. Thanks. I went to the chiropractor Monday and he wouldnt touch me. He sent me to the ER. I had been doing decompression therapy with him but don’t know if he’ll want to continue that. He recommended a good neurosurgeon to get a second opinion.

Also, having another consultation with a different clinic can’t hurt. The place we use was our third clinic.  EPP with lower dose atoms worked well for me. However, some do better with MDL, max stims. It’s really a guessing game as to which protocol will work best for you. I also took a 3 month break after my 2nd failed cycle. I took supplements, but I think you said you do that already. For me, I had to change my mindset about this. That it was a marathon, not a sprint. That helped me. I hope you find some peace. 

@hopefulmom thanks. I’m definitely ready to not be in pain. 

Afm, another bfn on a frer. I figure if it’s still that way tomorrow, it’s probably a failed transfer. Sorry to be a downer.

@kp214 oh I’m so sorry for all the pain you’re in. And I hope the epidural gives you some relief. As for your BFNs so far... you know what we all say about not giving up too early, but I also know you’ve been here before so I won’t insult you by trying to be all unicorn-like about it. Still I keep some hope for you.

@imajin99 oh I can’t believe you’re going through this again. If the follicle is growing then I think it can’t hurt to do an IUI if it won’t cost you too much more. I just can’t believe both your cycles are going this way. If you share the full details of your protocols (timing, priming, baseline, meds including dosages, scan and BW results etc) then we can see what else we might have researched or done ourselves. 

@hopefuljj what dose of Lupron will you do every day? I’m sure you’ll be fine with lovenox, might just look like you’ve been in a fight hehe! 

@bakerstreetboys hope that line is progressing well. Is your beta Friday or already today?

AFM well estrogen rose from 40 to 126. And it’s not too far off the follicles as we have 5 that are around 10mm, the other two haven’t really grown, but on the left it was tricky to see as my ovary decided to half hide behind my uterus. After some gymnastics it wouldn’t shift so we had to stop without measuring properly that side. 
Now waiting to hear back from the clinic. I hope they don’t make me go to them on Friday as we all know that I will not be triggering over the weekend with this rate of growth... fingers crossed they let me do it locally again Friday and then decide if they want me Monday with them in person.
And I’m a bit nervous that not all the follicles have eggs as I would expect my E2 to be rising a bit faster... but it’s still early days...

@emmasemm- its hard when its a slower start, but I remember last month being the same for you and it turned out good! Hopefully you are on track for this to be even better!!

@lmajin99- I think an IUI can't hurt if its not too expensive! I am a big fan of second consults. My current RE is my third. My second was at one of the best rated clinics in the country for stats. and they just couldn't get it to work for me. Sometimes another perspective really helps. However if you are happy with your care and feel like your RE is doing everything they can, that is something to consider too.

@emmasemm I’m glad they see 5, and you possibly have more. I don’t know how quickly e2 rises at this stage. Is your re concerned about empty follicles?  I hope you get to do local monitoring on Friday. Traveling is tough.

Afm, I was prepped for the epidural when i showed the doctor the note from my re. She said she couldn’t do the epidural since they would be using X-rays. She said she could give me a local steroid injection. I said no, went to a neurosurgeon who could see me today. He doesn’t think I need surgery. Talked with my re and put me on a steroid pack and changed my painkiller after giving me an steroid shot. I’m feeling better but that’s probably the steroid shot.

AFM, it's not looking good.  ***Possible TW.  It's 11dp3dt and the lines are still super faint.  At 14DPO, they should be darker by now, and it's looking like my first loss, which was a CP.  My blood work wasn't scheduled until Monday, but I called and they'll see me today.  If it is a CP, I want to stop the progesterone so AF can come.  I have been super crampy the last two days, so I'm pretty sure it's right around the corner.

@emmasemm-Thank-you, we will proceed with the IUI on Saturday.  I will go through my previous protocol and post it here. My own RE did the ultrasound this morning so we had a few minutes to chat, he thinks since the high meds are not working that next time we do a more natural or lower dose cycle. Will get a 2nd opinion at another clinic as well and probably put this on hold till the fall.  Just hope the IUI does work, never know.  How are you? Hope you were able to have the monitoring done locally tomorrow.  Not sure about your E2 levels as I don't know which measurement you have there but hoping that increases and there are some hiding follicles for you!

@kp214 Hope the steroid shot does the trick and you start feeling some relief.  Are you a bit more mobile now? We are going ahead with the IUI as the one follicle looks plump as my RE stated this morning.  We do not have male factor infertility and of course will do the BD over the weekend as well.  You mentioned EPP with lower dose medication, was that with clomid and injectable.  Since my own RE did the ultrasound for me that was his suggestion for next round as well.  I will take a break and focus on health and may increase the supplements.  Right now I take, 400mg CoQ10, vitamin D, Wheatgrass, Preg-Vit, Insolitol, baby aspirin, magnesium, fish oil. Any other recommendations?

@JamieH2000 How are you feeling and doing? Thanks for the advice, I really like my RE and the rest of the staff but I think it may be worth it to check in at another clinic.  Where I am located there are only 3 clinics and the other one I want to be referred to is the clinic where I know a few ppl have had successful IVF cycles. Have an apt with my family dr next week to send over the referral.

@lmajin99- There are those IUI miracle stories, and I hope its you! We are due for one I think another consult can never hurt and even if you don't switch, you can maybe get some consensus on  new protocol!

AFM- things are going good here. Feeling a little better but still rough in the mornings and nights. But i'll take it gladly. IF gives you a whole different appreciation for sure. Cheering all you lovely ladies on and praying for good news since no group deserves it more!

@Imajin99  I’m glad you were able to see your re today for monitoring. Hopefully, you won’t need another protocol; that the iui is successful. I was on lower doses of menopur and follistim along with ganirelix, HGH, and pregnyl trigger. You might look at DHEA if you end up needing to keep supplementing. That can help with egg quality supposedly. Some women also supplement with Vitex. I didn’t and had only started to research it when I started my 4th cycle. Good luck!

@JamieH2000  thanks. My back is a little better, but I’m mostly still bedridden. I have walked maybe 5 times to the kitchen for brief periods today but then had to go lay down.  That’s an improvement since I was crawling to the kitchen Tuesday while DH was at work. I feel the steroid shot wearing off, though.

Afm, another bfn this morning. Blood work has been moved to tomorrow at my request since I’ve had bfn’s and with my back pain.

Thanks for the good wishes ladies.  Beta came back at only 5.5 today, so it's a CP.  I will go back on Monday to make sure it is complete.  This is my third MC in eight months, so I'm feeling pretty defeated.  I pushed to get my next RE appointment moved up, so we'll see her in two weeks.
