Do you ladies know if it's ok to break up prenatal vitamins or blend them into a protein shake/smoothie? I am still having a terrible time taking mine. If I take it before bed, it gives me bad insomnia, but if I take it during the day, even after a big meal, I get super nauseous...
I know some medicines you can break up, but others you really aren't supposed too...just not sure about prenatals.
The only thing I've tried is breaking it in half and taking part in the am and the other part in the pm. I do prefer the gummies though. I've never had a problem with those

Just wondering what do you have to do to get your breast pump through your insurance? Most insurance companies cover them now right? I assume you need a prescription from your doctor. They weren't covered when DS was born and I borrowed a pump from my cousin.

Go to https://www.byramhealthcare.com/ and fill out your insurance information (closer to delivery - might even have to after delivery depending on your insurance). They will take care of everything. If they require a prescription I think they will request it from your doctor or will tell you to get a prescription so you can send it to them. It's a beautiful beautiful thing. DS1 I had Medela PISA and DS2 I had Hygeia Q - I definitely preferred the Hygeia as it is hospital grade - it was way more efficient.

I went to the yummy mummy online store and put in my insurance type and it showed me which ones I was covered for. Ordered and delivered, totally free
I have a few questions about breast pumps. I bought the Hygeia Enjoye with DD who was born Feb 2014, so it's not that old. Unless I'm mistaken, Hygeia pumps last a long time and should still be good to use, right? Also, since insurance covers pumps now (I have United Healthcare), does anyone know if they cover getting new accessories like shields, tubing, etc? I'm so bummed that I can get a breast pump for free now when I couldn't just over a year ago

Yes you can get parts for free. Pumps are only meant to be used for a year. I'm definitely getting a new one and keeping my other as a backup.

Thank you so much for this! With my last son my insurance said they covered pumps 100% and that I could call a local medical supply company to get one. Well I did and they gave me a single hand pump that was on sale at Walmart for $39.99! It was horrible. My RX even said double electric breast pump. I filled this all out while waiting for my Benadryl to kick in. Hopefully they can get me an awesome pump this time.

@OneRainDrop Have you tried Prenate AM? I have gone through about 4 different prescription prenatals but had GI issues and difficulty before pregnancy so I always had issues taking and digesting any type of pills. I LOVED the gummies and kept going back to them between each different prenatal I tried. But the one major issue my OB had with the gummies is that they typically don't contain iron. If anyone found a gummy brand that does have iron please let me know. They are just so much easier to take.
So I found out last week (at 15 weeks) after I called the doctor about some bleeding I was experiencing, that my 6 week ultrasound showed a subchoreonic bleed. Is it weird that my doctor didn't tell me about that, or is it no big deal? I have an appointment on Wednesday and am hoping to get some more information on this, since I had never even heard of this before.

Depends on the size. I had one and bled at 7 weeks (bright red blood), then older rusty blood for 2-3 weeks before I stopped bleeding. Dr wasn't concerned cuz it wasn't too large and said it would probably just go away. Please don't google too much cuz you'll find horror stories of the bad ones! they can be bad, but most likely not and it will be ok. Of course your doc should be able to confirm the size, if it's threatening or not. They probably didn't mention it before because it didn't look bad? Especially if you weren't bleeding.
To all the mommy veterans out there, what do you do when you get to the point where you lose sight of your lady parts and legs? I have always wondered this.

Did you wax? Use nair? DH pitch in?
haha
but seriously.
I just very carefully do my best. I've always managed to bend to make it possible. Though it doesn't happen as often as it usually would!
Pretty sure you aren't supposed to use nair when pregnant, but the other options (waxing and husband) would work too!
I'm with @kh1824 on this one. I just do the best I can when I actually feel like it. I don't know about anyone else but when I do, I often end up laughing at myself. All I can think is, if someone was watching the weird positions and looks on my face while trying to do this it would be both embarrassing and hilarious!

I just did my best with the razor. I'm sure it didn't look pretty but honestly I stopped caring.

I'm hoping I'll still be able to go get waxed...I'm not obviously pregnant right now but when I am wonder would the technician think it weird!

Lol me too. I was always ridiculously out of breath too. Like post work out huffing and puffing

@BrooksMommy33 l let DH help. He's actually already asked if he could! It's a little scary at first but he shaves his face all the time so it's not like he's inexperienced. It's a great trust exercise lol!

Mine was small. Doctor didn't even do any follow up ultrasounds and at 10 weeks told me to just go back to normal stuff. She said it was so small, and obviously hadn't harmed baby's development yet, so she isn't worried.
I know ladies that would purposedly go get a wax or trim down there prior to delivery. I honestly don't think the nurses or OB or midwives would care if you have hair down there or not. I also stopped caring around week 20 or so. This time around... I already don't care. I still shave my armpits though.
Question for STM+, do you find your toddler or baby getting more clingy or needy while you're pregnant? I don't think my 15 month old comprehends that there is another baby inside mommy, but she has been soooo neefy for the last 2months. And she only wants mommy most of the time.

I'm pretty sure it counts as a workout. You get to eat an extra donut afterwards on account of all the calories burned.
Anyone else feel like pregnancy is leS "blissful" and more stressful?! Maybe because it was unplanned...but I constantly worry about the little one's well being...suggestions?!

Mine isn't, but she's almost four. She clings to me a little because I'm the one who works, but it doesn't seem more than normal.

All of mine have been this way a bit. With #3, my 2nd got reeeeally snuggly. And she is again this time, and it seems like #3 is wanting to be held/in my lap/nurse a lot more now too. It could be a phase that they would have gone through anyhow, but I think they may sense something is changing also.

And on the grooming subject, I just twist and bend and do the best I can. I care less and less, but I definitely want things neat and trim for easy clean-up after baby gets here. Bc I don't want a razor/trimmer down there for at least a good week or two after!

So, I've been getting these headaches in the afternoon. They feel sort of like the kind I get when I'm tired or stressed, but a little different too, like if the 5yo has been really difficult and i've had to yell at him, it starts throbbing. This makes me think that maybe it's hypertensive, but I've been having them regularly each afternoon. Could this be a thing, like blood pressure spikes in the PM for some reason? Worth calling the doctor over, or just wait for my next appt?

@oceanchild I get headaches now, too. It's a 2nd trimester thing. For me at least, sometimes it's not too bad. Sometimes it comes and goes and other times, just awful!
@BrooksMommy33 Legs weren't really a problem but I noticed it was already a little difficult to take care of the lady parts. I shaved myself the whole time with DS. I had to do it blindly but it was fine. I did it the night before my CS and was glad I did as the nurse would have had to do it otherwise.
