My aunt got me a late birthday present of yarn. She got my three different skeins of Sirdar in 3 different colors and 3 different weights. She is not a knitter and I appreciate the thought. I'm trying to think of what to do with these. Anyone have any 1skein patterns that are a favorite? If all else fails in guess I'll make 3 hats?
Huh, the different weights make it hard. Maybe like scarf/cowl thing? Knitty.com has a ton of cowl patterns. Or a möbius scarf?
@mamrotu73 your Mom sounds awesome. I'm filing that in the bank for later stage parenting.
@jellysparkles I'm so sorry about Jelly. I'm so heartbroken for you and your family. Hope she is resting peacefully.
I went back to work today. I wasn't as sad as I thought I'd be. It was actually kind of nice to be feeling like my old self again. DD was all smiles when I picked her up, so that makes it easier. Here's hoping it sticks!!
@macgrs that McDreamy baby sweater is adoooorbs. And the baby model's face is priceless.
Skipping 689 posts to say hiiii. Vacay has been pretty good so far. Have to admit, I'm with swerb...it's nice to unplug, even from you all (sniff sniff). Had my dad's 60th bday bash on Saturday. I learned that he was TWENTY FIVE POUNDS at 6 months old (see attached photo). He also ate hot dogs and Mac n cheese at that time.
Oh how times have changed. Here I am fretting about giving Merriwether a natural remedy with prune juice in it (she hasn't pooped in 8 days...).
Headed to the motherland (aka Portland!!!!) on Wednesday. Thank. God. I'm loving my time back home with my folks but man. Mom is driving. Me. Crazy.
Hearts to you all. Sorry I'm far too lazy to look at the literally hundreds of posts. Cliff notes version anyone?
Welcome back deidre!!!!!
Hmmm well P is 19 pounds at 4 months so I guess he's he's on track for something unheard of? .. No mac and cheese or hot dogs over here, Just breast milk. . :-??

How in the world do you ladies get all these full-frontal smiling pics?? A-game can be practically laughing her head off, but once I try and take a pic she becomes this:

My kid must be tiny too, she was 12lbs 9oz a week ago.
Bad night of sleep here and a longer than normal work day means I'll probably have to break my "no soda" rule. These are the times I wish I liked coffee...
Aiden is sick again with another cold and a low grade temp. :-< Poor kid, he kept waking up every hour last night, so I finally gave him some Tylenol in the hopes it would make him feel good enough to stay asleep. Tylenol seemed to do the trick, but he sounds so sniffly...
Not sure if 25lbs at 6 months is in our future but my LO has doubled birthweight at 16 lbs... 4 month checkup in 2 weeks so we shall see the official numbers then!

@mom2boxers there's an app you can take pictures of people parked illegally in handicapped spots and it sends it to the local police station and the get a ticket. My dad is 100% handicapped and we've had to use the app a few thousand times.
So since my ergo broke and there's nothing that can be done for it I need a new carrier. I really thought with its price tag it should last more than 2 years but I guess not. I'd like a carrier made in the USA but it's a short list, only Bella carriers? Possibly thinking of a Tula since they have nothing but good reviews. I wanted a new 360 but now that I know my ergo my drop my kid on the floor I'm afraid. Any more got a made in USA carrier they love? Love your Tula?
Ergo sent me an automated response on FB and by email. I'm request number 106714! So I think that means they aren't getting back to me this century. Last night was rough with no carrier. Also grocery shopping will be impossible. I will ask the local birth network if anyone has a carrier I can try on. The baby wearing group meets every 3rd Monday of the month, so that's a long long wait. I have to go to Costco today to see if they can help me find the receipt for my ergo.

Are you crafty? Ring slings are super easy to make.
So done with today. DH is completely stressed from work and its pushing him into depression. I feel like I can't say anything right to him. We had travel plans made for next month and they've been scrapped because of communication about PTO so that has him frustrated as well.
~Missed MC at 8 weeks. D&C at 12 weeks on 4/17/13~
Huge hugs @thomas930. It's rough when your support system needs support!
Btw, how did the first day of kindergarten go? :-B
Pretty good! We have some struggles that we have to work through but we'll make it. She tends to completely shut down when we try to work through things that take more effort. We are trying to figure out how to push through that. But other than that she is having fun and enjoying it so far.

I just went on an overpriced etsy shopping spree. B needs some football season outfits and I obviously needed a scarf to match her outfits.
Best move ever.. On Showtime!
