It's really annoying when people cancel on you last minute considering all the effort it takes to get ready and to leave the house with an infant. Especially when they cite 3 reasons/excuses that they were fully aware of when they made the plans. You think beach traffic is going to be horrendous today? Really? I'm glad you came to the realization that you have been living by the beach all this time and that it's summer.
Sarcastic rant brought to you by the world's most squirrely and unreliable MIL.
I'd love to rant about how incredibly stupid it is to tell someone who uses a prescription medication to manage their psychiatric disorder that they "just didn't eat raw enough" or "should have been more spiritual" to "cure their problem, rather than masking the symptoms," but I think my head is perma-desked from reading this garbage.

I missed the 2000th page. Boo. I'm in a bad mood today, DS was gassy last night and was up from 1:45-4. I think he is constipated because he is fussy and doing his pain cries. Hoping this pear juice works soon.
DS is obsessed with beer bottles too! We let him not on the mouth part when we're finished with it.
I give him anything and everything. Today he was playing with a pack of Kraft Singles while I did groceries. I give him a shiny spatula while I'm cooking, and so on. Its fun watching them inspect new things!
It's hilarious the way kids react to normal objects. I was such a weirdo when I was younger. I would sleep with the yellow pages, wrap up a can of spray starch or a bottle of Windex in a blanket and carry it around, and lie down on the floor to talk to the toilet plunger ("Hey, Plunge! How ya doin', Plunge?!")... I feel like I've mentioned this on A14 before, but it's relevant to the conversation I suppose.
My daughter has hundreds of dollars worth of toys and she's far more interested in my mascara.

So Ergo just got back to me. They only warranty their products for a year. This means Costco exceeds the manufactures own warranty. The email they sent me is insane. Ain't nobody got time for that. They want you to send a total of ten pictures of you carrier, assuming your problem is only one of those pictures. Oh well. MIL said she wants to buy a new carrier so I'm going to get me the Whovian WAHM over priced Etsy one, made in the USA.

I'm guessing they want to verify it isn't a fraud? I'd imagine the Costco receipt should be sufficient for that, but whatever.
Our dishes are brown, orange, yellow, teal, and salmon (two of each color for each type of dish) and I always stack them from bottom to top in that color order for each type of dish. The different sizes are either stacked separately or with the smaller dishes on top of the larger ones. I can always tell when my husband has put the dishes away because I'll find a yellow dish on top of a teal one or (GOD FORBID) a smaller dish sandwiched between two larger dishes. Bless his heart for helping me with the housework, because I really do appreciate it, but my brain can never handle the disorder and I always end up arranging them back the way I like it.
I'm sure I sound absolutely bat-shit crazy to most of you, but I've gotta have some organization soul sisters out there somewhere.

I'm so excited to visit my in-laws for Labor Day weekend, and mostly so I can pass off LO as much as possible. No guilt here.
Oh man. I stayed with my aunt and uncle for a few days while my grandma was in town last month. My mom was often there too, so there was always someone who wanted to hold DS and/or hang out with DD. It was great!
I did find out that my uncle bitched about me though because I spent "too much time in the bedroom instead of socializing" and that I "just wanted other people to watch the kids." Uhhh, okay dude. How about you do all the nursing and pumping for me then? (I prefer to side-lie while nursing so I would usually go into the bedroom instead of NIP on the couch or whatever.) Should I be taking my kids into the bedroom with me so they can sit there and stare at the wall while I pump every 2-3 hours instead of letting interested family members watch them for 20-30 minutes? Give me a break. :-w

Might not be too bad - especially if you'll get a new carrier out of it. You could use your phone for the pictures and then they're easy to attach to an email.
ETA: Also take the one from MIL. It might take Costco time to process.
Can't get it replaced since my carrier is over 2 years old and ergo only warranties for 1 year. Super lame.
Looking at puppies on petfinder. So many conflicting feelings, but damn if they aren't cute.
Hugs! Puppies are adorable. I think you need to get two labradors. Get one chocolate and name him Peanut, and one yellow and name him Butter. I think that would be an awesome homage to your main girl. You could always just get one and name it Peanut Butter, but I mean come on. Two puppies is twice the cuteness.
ETA: My family used to have a pug named Aladdin, but we always called him Al. When we later got two lab puppies we named one Liberty and the other Justice, so we had Liberty and Justice for Al. Dangerously cheesy!

@poru My husband has the opposite problem -- he often tries to be a hard ass every time there is a little whining. I understand whining is annoying as shit, but he's not even around DD except for 2 hours a day during the week -- try a little distraction before you go into Timeout Mode, please. Ugh.
I would love a Great Dane. DH says no way, too big. Whatever we get next will NOT be a rat terrier (his dog / his choice when we first started dating). Love her but she's a nervous mess.

YESSSS. I have fiesta ware in 6 colors and it is infuriating if I have two dishes of the same color TOUCHING.
I also do my closet like this...usually. My entire wardrobe lately is black. Slimming black.
ETA to add
Ahhh...noooo. I'm the exact opposite. All the like colors touch. However, what do I know...I have all white dishes
I'm okay with either the "like colors touching" or "like colors not touching" techniques, as long as you're consistent! In my cupboard like colors do touch though.

So yesterday I'm getting all frustrated because we were gone most of the evening and when we get home, DS isn't listening, I realize that we're almost out of clean diapers so I don't have enough for daycare this morning and need to wash them, which will mean I can't go to bed until late, and the house, which I've been trying really hard to keep clean, is cluttered. Oh, and I'm sore from working out the day before so it hurts to walk.
DH realizes that I'm frustrated, takes over getting the kids ready for bed, asks what he can do to help with other things, and when everything is done, tells me he is going to call my Mom to take the kids Saturday night so that he can take me out and I can have a full kid free night. Saturday can't come fast enough.
I love that man!

DH says he'd like to have us moved to NC by Oct 1st. As much as I'd love that I think it's super unrealistic. And this place is such a disaster I don't even know where to start.

There's a baby American Eskimo-Sheltie mix... that would be such a great size dog for potentially having DD1 help with walks down the line, without being so small as to be in tiny yap dog territory.
Bah, I don't think DH is ready, though. Not that I am, but I'm finding that not having that kind of alert presence (my living doorbell) in the house is more disconcerting for me than any guilt of moving forward. He's also holding out for a Rough Collie, but I don't really love the vet bills his mom talks about with their dog's eye/teeth/digestive issues. I'm so much more of a mutt girl.
ETA - Obviously training has more to do with DD1 being able to help with handling than size, which I recognize. The size also is a factor in getting around since I just drive a glorified rollerskate.
I want to see a photo of the American Eskimo/Sheltie mix. Sounds adorable. I have a sheltie, so I am biased.
We had a rough collie growing up. Best dog ever! He saved me from a bear once.

I think we decided on an Alaskan Malamute. Griever, our Leonberger, was my choice so DH gets to pick this next one. We'll probably get one by the end of the year or early next year.
There is going to be sooooo much dog hair in my house!!

@KendraColeslaw I thought it was you who told me that. I was actually thinking about asking you what you thought about the breed and how easy/hard they are to train and if they are good around kids. We love big fluffy dogs.
I've been researching but I love hearing about first hand experience.

Shelties are dabomb.com. Amaaaaazingly sweet, smart, fun dogs who love to run but don't get crazy with a slower pace either. Our Shelties used to try to herd my younger siblings by circling them to bring them closer together, and loved running behind the 4-wheeler.
Unfortunately for two totally different reasons they both died young (around 4 yrs old) though I don't think that's typical.
I have decided to start my packing mission in the girls room. So the question is keep all the baby stuff incase we have a 3rd or give it away? CA to NC is a long way to move stuff.
My heart broke for DD today. First, she fell at the splash pad and scratched her entire face. She was bleeding every where so I cleaned her up, changed her into dry clothes and let her play at the regular park. Then there were two little boys playing that were so mean to her. One of them pushed and KICKED her! They had to of been the same age so it's not like he didn't know better. Then their moms did nothing. Absolutely nothing! I was livid.
Then when we were in the car she says "mommy, they didn't like me.." What am I supposed to say to that? I felt horrible for her. I know stuff like that is going to happen but it's still sad when it happens to your kid.

I'm the complete opposite of a hoarder so the minute I stop using something, I give it away or get rid of it. However, we are done having kids!

So sorry that happened to your sweet girl. Since I'm a FTM and haven't been through something like that yet, I don't know quite what I would say either, but I guess it would be something about how awesome she is, and just to ignore people who don't know that about her and treat her ugly. I hope she brushes it off and feels better soon!
