I've always wanted to know what an earthquake felt like. I've been in a tornado but it was at night. I'd be the crazy person recording it all on my phone if it were during the day.

@Vinny424‌ was the toddler ok? I can make no sense of why you'd drag a sleepy baby to a bar and get drunk, then think you should drive home, with the baby. She looks like snooki.

I probably would have slept right on but my husband did the same thing as @poru‌'s and woke me up. I looked over at the monitor and the shaking made Isla roll over... After that she was like "uh this is NOT how I sleep" and woke right up. No big damage here, just a lot of pool water out and pots and pans banging.

We've had small earthquakes here in MD and a few years ago there was a relatively big one for our area. Never any damaging ones though.

Yikes, earthquake! Glad no one is hurt, hope the damages and inconveniences clear up quickly and relatively painlessly.

Earthquakes scare me! Glad everyone is ok!

I can't wait to be back with DH, mainly so we won't fight about money anymore. When he is away, he spends money like crazy and it pisses me off. I stressed for weeks about spending $40 on a water park and he just blew through $90 at some Frankie's Fun Park. If I say anything to him about it, he gets really defensive and angry, but it frustrates me! He complains about bills and our savings not being more, but then he flies through money when he's away from us. He feels like he deserves to do what he wants because he is away at school and is bored. However, when he does that it leaves no money for me or the kids to do anything fun. Ugh pretty much, DH being away at army schools turns him into a selfish asshole and after 4 months of it, I'm over it. 3 more weeks..

Hope everyone in the earthquake zone is well!

SO PISSED. We've told my MIL over and over again "no heels" for our 2.5 year old. I don't care if they're just for dress up, she can't walk well in them, they don't fit her feet (her feet are TINY), and I just don't think they're age appropriate at all. In a couple of years for dress up play, fine.

Well, we're over here today and there are sparkly lingerie-looking toddler heels in her toy box. She told us "GiGi said shhhhhh because Mommy said no heels."

FUCK YOU, LADY. (A) Thanks for, once again, going behind our backs and ignoring something we've said no to multiple times. (B) Now we're the bad guys, awesome. (C) DH probably feels stronger about this than I do, but of course I'm the one that's made out to be the bad guy.

She frustrates me to no end. As you may have guessed, this is not an isolated incident, hence my reaction to something that might otherwise be innocuous.

Ugh. Aiden just woke up and went into complete freak out mode instantly, and of course we're on the turnpike and can't even pull over easily. 15 minutes of full on purple scream combined with a self induced snot filled vomit. Only six more hours until we get home...

Also, if there is not a support group for people who buy too many baby pjs I should start one. Just went to a huge consignment sale and bought waaaay too many. It's so hard to resist $3 pjs!

Thoughts will all those affected by the earthquake. 

After the big one that flattened Christchurch here in 2011 we are extra sensitive about earthquakes, though they don't call NZ the shaky isles for nothing! I've experienced a few but never a massive one. Hope you are all OK

I only got 5.5 hrs sleep last night, 2 hrs, then up for 2hrs with LO who just would not go back down, then 3.5 hrs then up for the day to go to work. 

I don't feel exhausted or anything, but I cant believe how much its actually affected me. I can't seem to type or form a proper sentence. I seriously have to re-type every single word in this post because my England is broken!

I'm so glad I finished my assignment that's due tomorrow last week, I would be so stressed if I had to finish it today! Who thought starting post-grad study with a newborn was a good idea??

Um, pretty sure my DH would be yanking Declan out of the pool, draining said pool, and grounding the kid. No wonder he doesn't listen.

So question. Would it be weird/AWish to make an Instagram for Isla? I feel like I post a million pics of her and would post even more if I could, but I don't want to clog up my friends' feeds. If she had her own account, all her pics could go on there for friends and family that want to see it. Dumb or good idea?

I feel loved. We live far enough south of Napa that we slept through the earthquake and I didn't know about it until I got texts from some Bump girls asking if I was okay. Love you girls!

I survived leaving LO for first time . Dinner was fabulous . Was at this local very small italian restaurant and wine bar .
Our reservations were so early because i didn't want to keep the baby out too late , that the service was really quick. Inlaws were disappointed as reservations were for 6 and we were back to fetch lo for 7:30 I had fettuccine with pesto parm and prosciutto . Almost everything was made in house . So good !

In other news I made lemon bars , oatmeal choc chip cookies and banana bread this weekend and my LO gets needles tomorrow so at least I can fuck up my " diet " properly when upset tomorrow afternoon.

Also, @AcaAwkward‌, that would result in a long talk with MIL, DH, and me about how she's broken trust and won't be allowed grand kid privileges until she finds a way to earn them back. Telling a kid to keep rule breaking from mom and dad is a major oh no you di'int!

FFSC: I put Josie in my current favorite outfit for her four-month picture today. I was setting up for the pic when she had a wet diaper. DH comes out after changing her and says, "Honey? There was an accident..." Pee all down the front of her shorts! So I busted out the hair dryer, dried 'em off, and stuck her back in them. She sat in pee shorts for five minutes so I could get the forever picture.

We had a fantastic day at the zoo yesterday, managed to not get too ruffled about my unruly nieces and nephews, Shea was an angel and loved watching the glowing blue jellyfish float around.
BUT.
We are paying for it today in a big way. Our normally easygoing, no-cry baby has screamed most of the day, fights naps, refuses to be out of sight or put down, and even screams in our arms (this never happens). He got overstimulated, overtired and probably a little bit dehydrated yesterday. Hopefully tomorrow my happy guy will be back.

My back is so destroyed. I have thrown it out I don't even know how many times since I gave birth and it literally always hurts. Currently it's so bad I can't stand up all the way straight. I'm hobbling around hunched over like an old lady trying to work and get crap done around the house. Stupid back.

DH talked to my MIL (AGAIN). She trif to play dumb and say she thought the rule didn't apply to "play shoes" (because there are just so many stilettos made for the playground and preschool in a toddler size 5??!)...which, um, hey, BULLSHIT, because we know you knew you were breaking a rule since you told DD not to tell us! He told her (AGAIN) that if she continued to make us out to be the bad guy with DD and/or hid things from us, she won't be allowed to spend the night there alone.

My mother describes my MIL as "limited." Which is actually giving her intelligence a little too much credit, probably. Our relationship with her is strained at times because, while DH is truly amazing at standing up to her, she lays the guilt trip ("three time cancer survivor! how can you be so mean to me after all I've been through?!" etc) on thick.

Blerch. Totally put a damper on my Sunday.

Summary of my weekend: 3 hour drive, crying baby, crazy people. Late night with a crying, teething, feverish baby. Early morning with still-miserable baby. Party with the same people and then some. Crying, feverish, teething, overstimulated, clingy baby. Terrible scare when baby choked on baby Tylenol and stopped breathing for so long (probably only a few seconds but felt like forever) I considered infant CPR. Early departure. 3 hour drive with miserable baby. Home late.

Currently: cheese, crackers, and wine slushies. I will probably be sorry at 6 am tomorrow when my when my alarm goes off.

My child lost his damn mind this weekend. Our "routine" was totally out the window with wedding stuff last week and he rebelled yesterday by going on a sleep strike.

And I made a few nursing necklaces out of beads, and they're awesome. LO hasn't bitten me since I've worn one, and he is staying a bit more focused on eating. Success!

Sitting in the back seat of the car listening to Aiden snore... DH keeps telling me to sleep for the rest of the ride. If only he knew how badly I want to! Two more hours 'till home...
