I know not being able to keep up is a common complaint, but holy cow the babies are flying out of you ladies!!! Every time I check TB there are so many new announcement/L&D posts!
Also, has anyone else noticed that it seems like a huge number of mommas have had their water break before the onset of labor? I was under the impression that very few women (somewhere close to 10%?) experienced that. It's making me even more paranoid that everything is my water breaking...
Got nursing bras that actually fit (heaven!) in the mail today. Also got a couple baby gifts in the mail, and yesterday I got my breast pump. It feels like Christmas!
Ohhh where did you get the bras?
Motherhood Maternity website. Couldn't find anywhere near me that had nursing bras big enough but these are glorious.
Honestly idk what the hell is going on with my bf but I think I'm gonna kill him. Throughout this entire pregnancy he's been really good about not eating the last of something. Well today he ate the last of my damn salted almonds and I said nothing. Earlier I specifically ask him what he wanted me to cook for him because I was making hot wings. He says not to make him anything. I make myself enough wings that I could have seconds. Take a nap and do you think I have wings when I wake up? I'm seriously losing my shit with this man

They're hogging the statistics! Sorry, caboosers, no water breaking for you...
Don't say that! I want my water to break all dramatic like so that a) I can freak out my DH and b) I don't have to analyze contractions.

Well maybe not the freak out my bf part but this. Since I seriously don't know how contractions are supposed to feel if just much rather my water break so we can know for sure to go in

Yes, I was thinking there were a lot for how uncommon I heard it was.
I'm with @deidremaria, I don't want to worry about contractions... But on the other hand I'm staying at my in laws since the hospital is an hour away from my house, so I am super paranoid it's going to break on their couch or guest bed. I was joking about wearing a diaper so I wouldn't have to have anything cleaned for them.
Also: - Hugs to Colleen, hoping for only the best outcome for your pup! And more hugs to anyone else who needs them.
- Big huge congrats to Samantha and Katie and all the other brand new mommas!!! @katieharpiceland was my EDD twin so now I'm on the clock :!!
- Anddd, fuck my manager for putting me on scheduled phone calls with no break for 4 hour time slots. I told her that's not possible for me to sit through and she decided to give me even MORE phone calls this week. I made it very clear that I'm still peeing when I need to!
I never give money to panhandlers, but a guy asked if I'd buy him something to eat at the gas station. He came in with me and picked out a burrito and a drink and then I insisted he also get a sandwich for later and got him a big bottle of water. I don't think its enabling people buying them food because its a basic human need. Don't suspect he was a drug addict, Im pretty good at sniffing that out. Maybe I'm an easy target since Im all maternal now.
Induction pineapple, induction pedicure, induction sex, induction Choco Taco (it's a thing, I've decided)... this kid is a little too comfortable. Why is my ute so damn hospitable?
I am currently asking myself the same thing. I've given up

How about you get one of those cheap waterproof mattress pads for the guest bed just to be on the safe side. Also just maybe keep a thick towel with you when you know you'll be on the sofa that way if it does break atleast you'll mess up the towel first. That's what I'd do
Working on our budget for May- last year we were doing a really great job of tracking our expenses and such for about 4 months- then you can see where it abruptly stopped when I got the flu at the end of April... And then I got pregnant at the beginning of May. So we just stopped, even though we probably needed the budgeting then more than ever!! Anyway- working out our budget now I see that even if we are frugal (we pretty much are), we MIGHT get to put $200 in savings each month. That's a hopeful guess though... Probably more like $50. *sigh* I wish we would have had a few months of double income before I needed to leave my job. Hoping I can do some writing for my old job in May- if I can earn $500/mo and we can put that straight in the bank, I'd feel satisfied. Mo money mo problems? Eh. No money, mo-er problems.

April 14 August Siggy Challenge- "This time last year.."
@dani+california I'm hoping to nanny this summer- still talking details. We have been making it work at this income since the fall, but had finally put a little in savings after having to spend $5000 on our miscarriage last summer. We felt pretty defeated after that and our finances have been at a standstill. DH has the opportunity to bring in about $1000 if he finishes a project he's been "working" on for 2 years. And if he studies and takes a few tests, he will be eligible for a raise as soon as he completes and passes them. He's just very hard to motivate. It usually ends up that I start crying about $$ at bedtime and he says he will work harder and that lasts about 2 days.

So appt today went great! Little girl looked great on the NST! Progress people! We have PROGRESS! 1cm dilated and 75% effaced! This is good news considering I was "locked up tight" and "thick as could be" as of last week! Baby has dropped and I had 2 huge contractions while hooked up to the monitors. Doc couldn't believe I don't really feel them yet! So baby could make it out on her own but we are scheduled for induction Sunday night. So if all goes well we should have a baby by Monday at the latest! There is a light at the end of this tunnel!
RE: Eviction sex. The first time we tried a week ago we tried four or five positions and it was all horrible but I wanted him to finish to get the goods. Due to awkward positioning he slipped out right when he was depositing his contribution and it all ended up running down my leg. Yeah- it was hilarious and then I cried.
THEN we found the office chair. I still can't get off but at least it's not horrible and there's no wasted sperm.
The things we do to get the baby out. I can't wait to enjoy sex again.

How on EARTH are you ladies having lots of eviction sex? We just had sex for the first time in 2+ weeks and that shit is NOT happening again. We had to do it doggy, and it was NOT enjoyable in the least for me.
Bummer! I haven't found pregnancy sex to be painful/awkward/uncomfortable at all, I've been lucky. My only complaint is my lack of maneuverability...when I'm on top I can't lean down to kiss him, etc.
So basically it's like porn sex I guess. Fetish pregnancy porn sex? Bahaha
I'm with you here. It's still doable and enjoyable but I do feel a little Game of Thrones-ish doing it all doggy style. We do it from the side sometimes but I feel like a fucking banana whale from that angle.

I'm in the same boat as you @pineconey. I do our budget and I'm like, "Oh we can save $200 each paycheck" but then something comes up and we can't save anything. We haven't put anything in our savings account for two months now...just have taken money out for baby. We both got effed by bills in 2009 and are now just finally able to pay them. So while it feels great to pay shit off, we're not able to save...and the whole point of moving to GD Kentucky was to save money and get back on our feet. We've only been here three months but my lack of patience wants to be saving MORE, NOW! And it's been impossible for me to find a job and I feel just uber guilty not being able to bring any money in even though I know I shouldn't because I'm pregnant. Bleh.
The budget stress is real and it super duper sucks.
So I know it is totally normal to cry alot after having a baby. Pretty much all the feels are happening to me. I'm sure it's normal but tonight I am super worried and nervous. Like I want to hold LO constantly and I have the "creeps" like something bad is going to happen. I keep worrying that I am not taking good enough care of him or that maybe he sleeps too much or....whatever else crosses my mind. Tell me I am normal?
I sure hope it's normal! I've felt the same way. Last week hormones started to calm down and level off. I still feel like something is going to happen. I constantly hover to check breathing and just want to hold him every second of every day!
Timing contractions is hardddd why can't my water just break? So much pain and annoyance tonight..
The last weeks of pregnancy take mind games to a whole new level
THIS!!!! And I'm not even sure that what I'm timing are actual contractions. Just one more reason for me never to do this pregnancy thing again.
Re: Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )
Im currently timing contractions at 3 minutes apart! Thinking this could be it!
