I'm the odd man out apparently but I think it's awesome that she was able to do that. All the replies remind me of a bunch of haters and the girl that "ugly cried" is just fishing for attention. /whiteknight
    I'm with you.

Especially after her second post, where she answered the questions other people had asked and then got flamed for doing so.

    Same.
The mentioning of weight loss was a little braggy but yeah, I didn't understand the intense flaming. I also didn't get the vibe that she sounded like a 16-year old like a lot of them were saying. I have seen way more annoying AW posts IMO.

    Still entertaining though

  • @Lindsay808 I'm a little late on this, but I have a BSW, and I worked as a social worker in child welfare for 2 years and have worked the last 2 years as a social worker with the elderly and Medicaid waiver programs. I'd be happy to help in any way I can.

  • I'm so tired, and I don't want to get out of bed! Boo for having to work! I had the most bizarre baby dreams last night. I dreamt I basically birthed a toddler, who kind of wanted nothing to so with me. I texted my sister the typically birth stats, it's a girl, and whatnot, but then sent out a mass text to other family and friends and said it was a boy. It was all very odd and confusing. But the actual L&D part of the dream was awesome as the baby pretty much just slid right out after like 5 mins.

  • Baby growth spurts can always be identified by my insane hunger... ugh I feel like I could eat everything in sight and still be hungry.  Of course, I don't have any snacks handy at my desk either!!  :((

Being at my parents house for the week = watching cable while they work! Watching "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant" and wondering HOW that happens?! Especially when you've been experiencing classic pregnancy symptoms for months and never thought to, IDK, VISIT A DOCTOR?!? I remember having horrible cramping for almost a week following ovulation and thinking "OMG that hurts! Maybe it's a cyst bursting or something... I should get that checked out ASAP". But then, maybe I was just a hypochondriac? This girl is blaming her fatness for not knowing. Her mom said she never showed, she mentioned during the last three months eating everything in sight, excessive weight gain, and nausea. Wouldn't you at least Google symptoms??
That just sounds like my lyfe! Of course, the nausea is due to the eating everything in sight. If I googled it, id probably just come up as a binge eater with low self esteem :)

I have mixed feelings on the thread. I think it's AWESOME that she pulled it off, but she totally comes across as AW and makes other moms feel inadequate. And is it safe to run a 5k 2 weeks pp? I thought we weren't supposed to work out til like 6 weeks later? Legit question.
I don't get why being proud of your accomplishments are AW'ing though. People post their accomplishments here all the time - DIY knitting/sewing, found a great deal, installed baseboards (yeah, my picture is coming!). Its all for the same reason, she just has  a different hobby.
Great for her that she managed a 5k period, let alone 2 weeks postpartum. She probably worked out throughout her pregnancy to maintain some level of fitness.  It will probably take me 3 years to be able to run a 5k again!

    @Aronie82

The website where you can do everything is:
    https://www.loanconsolidation.ed.gov/

If you don't know much about the various programs I really suggest watching some of the webinar here:

    https://www.equaljusticeworks.org/ed-debt/webinars

They outline all of the options really clearly, especially if you are interested in public service loan forgiveness.

I think it depends on the person. I was pretty active/fit before my last pregnancy and my Doctor said I would be cleared for full workouts at my 6 weeks appointment, but that I could do modified/lighter workouts after the first couple weeks. One of my friends is a Crossfit junkie and was working out every day up to the delivery of her son and her Doctor said it was fine for her to go back as soon as she felt ready, which ended up being like 8-9 days.

Hey we were talking last week sometime about student loans, consolidation, income based options, etc.

I want to consolidate my loans and I don't know where to start.  Can someone help?

    Federal or private?

Federal loans.  I found that consolidation site before, and I also used one based on the department of education webiste.

Whoever decides how much you can afford is drunk and needs to go home.

If you are married and you haven't filed your taxes yet you might want to consider filling separately. Whether you want to do this or not completely depends on your individual situation, your income, spouse's income, and if they have loans too plus what kind of credits/deductions you will lose by filling separately. If you file separately though they will only consider your income when calculating how much you need to pay every month but your family size will stay the same. For us this drastically cut our payments so we file separately. So weigh your options as far as that goes, if your situation is complicated it might be worth talking to an accountant.

This so much of this. What always gets me pissed is DH and I have been told that we cannot consolidate our student debt to lower payments than the payments we've been making for the last 4 years with no delinquency because we don't make enough.
Sorry I cannot help with federal, I really only have private :/.

  • @aronie82 - I'd start by contacting your lender directly. You should be able to explain your situation, income, and ask about options for consolidation and IBR. We're trying to figure it out right now too--I don't have loans, but am dealing with the "what's yours is ours" aspect of marriage. Even if they can only decrease it like $100/mo, that'll be a week of daycare you don't have to stress about, you know?

I totally did this with my DS. I had a csection so I weighed myself as soon as I got home from the hospital.
  • We have to say goodbye to our girl today. 9 years wasn't long enough to spend with her. I am so heartbroken and don't know how I will get by without her.

  • Prompted by Dani's message ^^, I'm really annoyed at the spelling differences for labor/labour, color/colour, and others that I can't think of right now. Why can't all the english words be spelled the same? I could care less which one, but WHY?!?!!?
  • Oh I think all the advice she's given is really good, well thought out advice. She's also humorous, like in the back labor thread, she had me cracking up. I'm such a creep. Sorry @mamafantastic :\">
ha!!!  it's a good thing i get notifications when someone tags me, otherwise i never would have seen this :)

hey, thanks!  i think plenty of other people on here give excellent advice and are funnier than me, but i appreciate the love!
