Not to mention that you can end up with food allergies at any point in your life. I ate a TON of bananas in my life, then out of the blue became allergic when I was 23
This was me last year with shrimp, and I don't eat shrimp, it was a accidental contamination, I grew up eating shrimp.
Hubs caught a cold from his sister who we spent 10 hours with in a car last weekend. Awesome. Here's hoping my flu shot works! Also, he is now sad that I'm refusing to kiss him on the mouth or share cups/utensils.
It's sad... Ever since I got pregnant I avoid sick people like the plague. As in, I judge them for being sick and polluting my air with germs. Did we ever figure out if Air-Bourne is allowed for pregnant women??
My stomach revolted today for the first time this whole pregnancy... It wasn't even my stomach's fault - my esophagus decided to quit working and everything got stuck. It's happened once before, but I was able to get it working again before it made me sick. Not only is it gross, but it hurts like hell for a while after too... Sad panda here... :-S
That sounds terrible! Hope the pain is gone and there won't be a repeat performance!
Ugh, my SIL implied my son has ADD... My H has it, but I don't think it's hereditary. Her and my mil used to tell me my daughter had it too. Sigh. He's 2.5 and already with the labels... Plus it's just because he's ACTIVE!

My grandma had it, my mom had it, I have it... It also runs in DH's family, so... I'm almost expecting baking-baby to have it too. At least I'll be prepared!
Although, @ 2.5, I can't imagine she can say for sure - unless she's a neurologist and he's been tested, lol.
Also? I wanted orange crush - DH has some in the cellar! I'm so excited!!!

I avoid them too - I spray door knobs/the copier/shared things off at work with that super Lysol that kills everything... I Clorox wipe off the counter in the kitchen. I've been known to spray off sick coworkers desks while they are in the restroom. I refuse to get sick. Lol.
I've adopted my BFF's cat for 3 months while she moves to FL for 3 months. It's been 2 days and I'm already regretting it. The cat is scratching the shit out of my couches and my bath mat and I have to wait for someone to let me in to her place to get the cats scratching post that she forgot to bring. Grrr
Get a squirt bottle! My cats hate it - well, 2 do.. The 3rd laughs at me almost when I shoot her, so I have to make sure to hit her in the face, lol.
My cats hate the quirt bottle with a passion. I no longer have to actually squirt them but hold the bottle up and look at them, they stop what they are doing and run and hide.
Lol, this is what DH's dog does. She's all 'oh, shit, the water!' and stops. Only my little villain isn't afraid and mocks me...

I'm allergic to raw bananas. As long as they are cooked I'm fine. Have you tried that?
Raw, cooked, skin contact- can't do any.
Out of curiosity are you allergic to latex as well? DD is allergic to bananas and latex and I've been told a couple times that those two allergies are frequently found together.
Watching outside movement from baby kicks and punches is an interesting experience. It's like 3 parts "HI, BABY! I LOVE YOU!" and 1 part "OMG, Alien chestburster!"

Totally cleaned and organized DD's whole room this afternoon. It looks amazing. Every group of toys has it's own sterilite bin for storage. I love it! Took me about three hours. Now I'm so sore I can hardly walk, but I feel accomplished.

Love it. I'm an organization maniac when it comes to baby items. It's borderline ridiculous. Okay, maybe a little (or a lot) beyond borderline... She's got bins for hats, tights, socks, shoes, bibs, bows/barrettes, etc. Her clothes are organized by size, and then by style with color coded hangers (white for one-piece outfits, green for two-piece, pink for dresses). It's baaaaad. It sure does make it easy to find exactly what I'm looking for though!

So the room we are going to use for the nursery was my office that became the storage room and it was bursting at the seams with crap. It has all been cleared out! Tomorrow we buy paint:) so excited.

Not as of now, but I have oral allergy syndrome which "may or may not" end up giving me a latex allergy in the future. I'm also allergic to mangoes and occasionally have problems with walnuts and avocados.

Is it terrible that while visiting family here in MI I find myself pretending my life 2000 miles away doesn't exist? I used to get major anxiety when I was this far from "home" for so long, but having DH with me makes everything feel right. SO thankful to be on vacation and away from work. It's been really bringing me down.

Wow, now I know what it's like to leave the bump for a day! 250 new posts! For the first time I'm not going to try and catch up, just jump right in and send a hug to all you lovely ladies!
P.S. Anyone know where I can buy a papaya?

DD got a princess toddler bed for Christmas, so DH put it up and took her crib- toddler bed down yesterday. Today we cleaned out her old play room and started to make it into the nursery! We also started to paint her old crib for baby! Annnnd DH has decided he wants to find out the gender! So we are going to get an elective ultrasound! So many exciting things these past couple days. Hope everyone had an amazing Christmas!
So DH and I have been talking about moving from our 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom in our unit if our complex will let us transfer our lease. We figure if they allow it we would try and move in like Feb and then sign a new one year lease and worry about the whole house hunting thing next year. Well DH's family apparently doesn't like this plan and want us to buy a house like...now. They are coming up to have a talk with us tomorrow about it. We think they are thinking of purchasing a house for us and we would do like a "rent to own" thing. This is just so much to think about, I am not sure I am ready for all this so suddenly. I know they have the best of intentions but with me not working right now I am already worried about how we are going to pay our bills as it is, let alone with a new baby AND a house, all in a 6 month period!
Ugh, remember those probable ovarian cyst rupture I had a week ago? Whatever that pain was, its back. So, obviously not a cyst. Whatever it was, the pain did subside after awhile. Baby is kicking away, no bleeding or cramping and no contractions. I am really not wanting to go to an ER here (I do have travel insurance through my credit card, though). If it doesn't calm down by mid morning I 'll have DH call the midwife, since they seem to be ignoring me when i call. So annoying! My only thought is my body felt like it was stretching a lot both times before it hurt. Its not RLP because it doesn't go away, but, maybe its muscle tearing?? Anyway, we don't have an after hours answering service, we have like a night doctor and their response is always go to the ER, so, not use calling them. My hope, it just subsides like before. Actually, as I'm typing this its not as bad. Maybe the tylenol is taking a dent out of the pain? Ok. Vent over.
See, now the pain is getting better. After about 6 hours. What the heck is this?? It doesn't feel like gas, but, my left side is making loads of weird noises. My body is weird!!!!
So we were asked yesterday if we were going to pierce baby girl's ears by MIL. I said I think I want to wait until she's older. Like in when she can ask for them. MIL have me this shocked look because I said I didn't want to. She replied, but they won't remember when they're little. I just shook my head and said that we haven't really talked about it, but I have no rush to do it. You never know I might change my mind. It's just not a big decision for me right now. She seemed REALLY disappointed. Luckily DH agreed to go with whatever I felt after we talked about it later.
So this convo made me browse through ear piercing threads, and found this gem. I would be PISSED if it happened to me, but thankfully I know my MIL wouldn't do this.
My work schedule and DH's time off schedule need to get their poop in a group... I can't get anything done when he's home!! I was supposed to have yesterday off and was called in at 7:30am. Boo. AND I'm sick again! Stupid cold... Holy Grouchypants, Batman!
Zeb and I have finally made the decision that we are not going to buy a house, we are going to build a house. He was gifted land so we want to use it now instead of later. it will take longer, and we will be living with his mom for the build ( she has a big roomy house) but it will be the house we want. I am super excited! now to sell our trailer.
Bought a baby carrier on sale here!! So excited. On sale it was only slightly more expensive than in America, and twice as cheap as in Iceland. I tried them all on with the fake, full weight baby. I feel pretty confident I'll continue to like it. :-D
Also, the weird/bad pain on my left side is gone. It lasts like 8 hours. And always while LO is down in that corner. Maybe he's hitting a nerve?(Although, it feels like tearing muscles, not nerve pain.)
@hvmom2b I take mine on New Year's Eve. It most certainly should be illegal. But the nurse did say to me "well at least you can get through the holidays without worrying about your sugar".
Also, they gave me mine at my last appt and told me to leave it in the fridge.
Re: Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )
We went to see Anchorman 2 and it was not good. It started off promising with some funny parts then it just got worse and worse. So disappointing.
