Got to my parents vacation house in Park City and we were so tired from the 6 hour drive, my guard was down and I said LOs name out loud to DH! The whole family heard and now it's a topic of conversation and we weren't ready to tell people yet!!! I'm so mad at myself Now I feel violated.

Just spent 9 hours out in the cold for the Great Lakes invitational! (Hockey)
We had fun despite the teams we were cheering for, and it was balls cold. It will be even colder at the winter classic game next week! DH said after, "that was the longest I've ever been that cold for in my life."
It was in the low 30s by the end. I just had to chuckle because I've spent a lot of my life out in the cold during the winter- he's just not used to Midwest weather!!

I had a complete FTM moment earlier when I realized that I was feeling a Braxton Hicks contraction (and have felt them before). I guess I always figured BH would be something I would feel more frequently rather than the "maybe once or twice a day" that they are. And here I was thinking that my STM badge meant something!  X_X

Yes!! I feel like a house and I saw myself in Xmas pics and was like where did my belly go?

Eta- my SO and I were watching 24 week pregnancy videos and I kept pointing out the bellies I thought looked like mine and he was telling me I was much smaller than I obviously pictured myself. Could be distorted body image since were not as familiar with our new bodies. I'm cool with whatever size my belly is I just find it interesting that my actual and perception aren't matching up.

So my SIL gave us a huge bin of girl clothes at Christmas, many with tags still on. I went through them and picked out what we wanted to keep, which was maybe 10 things total. There is an entire bin of stuff I don't want, and I feel like such a brat for being so picky.... But I just don't have the same taste as them, and I can't picture putting my child in things with silly sayings on it...

I would suggest keeping a couple of the ones you don't like for if baby gets sick or backup outfits you can leave at daycare/the sitters house. I never wanted to use my favorite outfits for that stuff.

Kinda of the opposite. I look down and think that I don't look that big but when I see myself in a mirror I think I look huge.

5...I know some is age appropriate, but the frustrating thing is he had been so well behaved until recently...not even surrounding the baby, just starting the last month or so I've been getting a lot of complaints from daycare, school, and more struggles at home with no apparent trigger...he's known about the baby since practically the beginning so I don't think that's it, or at least it's not all of it.

Does he transition back and forth between you guys and his mother? I've noticed the transitions becoming more difficult with DSD and she has been so incredibly weepy in the last two months or so. Baby aside, I think as she gets older the transitions are more difficult because she is more aware and as soon as she's adjusted, se transitions back. It's definitely frustrating, I can understand that! Sometimes she's a completely different kid. DSD is 4 (going on 10) btw.

@aviola329 I absolutely get where you're coming from. I'm sorry for DSS that his mom is so neglectful! Coming from my experience, (FTM technically speaking) nannying and being a teacher, consistency is the best thing you and DH can give your kids. Luckily, your DSS doesn't have to make the transition from home to home where styles can be DRAMATICALLY different-that's to your benefit for sure! Daycare/school is hopefully consistent so as long as that continues, this will hopefully pass. Sounds like he's one lucky kiddo to have a dad and stepmom who are about him so much!

Today I have 2 showerish parties being thrown! They are both family gatherings, and only kind of showers. The first one is just my mom, aunt, cousin's wife, sister, and 2 friends. The one later is my dad's side of the family, but they get together every Saturday night anyway, so it was not really a big deal.
I'm excited to see family today!!!
