At the lab for my GD test. I have 5 minutes to drink this. It's actually not as bad as I thought it'd be. Would be nice if it was cold though.
PS: this test should be illegal the week of Christmas!
My OB gave it to me ahead of time and told me to put it in the fridge. It wasn't so bad tasted like flat orange soda. The. For my 3 hr they gave one to me cold. Again not so bad. For my 28 w appt they actually gave me a different flavor... Fruit punch! It's. in the fridge getting nice and cold (yes they are making me do it again even though I had to test early)

I had a cold sprite flavored one that they gave me at the lab. Also I remember getting finger pricked last time, this time they actually drew blood.
Random question for you STM- anybody using their old crib mattress from previous child. Mine just looks so pristine and barely used, I hate to throw it away. But if I must, I must.

I used the same crib mattress for my first two. As long as you stored it safely I'm pretty sure you will be fine using it.
Mom to 10 year old DS and 7 year old DD. Twin girls coming soon!
Did you guys hear about the glitch on Delta when prices dropped and some people scored super low tickets? For example, Boston --> Hawaii for $68 ROUND TRIP.
So DH and I have been talking about moving from our 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom in our unit if our complex will let us transfer our lease. We figure if they allow it we would try and move in like Feb and then sign a new one year lease and worry about the whole house hunting thing next year. Well DH's family apparently doesn't like this plan and want us to buy a house like...now. They are coming up to have a talk with us tomorrow about it. We think they are thinking of purchasing a house for us and we would do like a "rent to own" thing. This is just so much to think about, I am not sure I am ready for all this so suddenly. I know they have the best of intentions but with me not working right now I am already worried about how we are going to pay our bills as it is, let alone with a new baby AND a house, all in a 6 month period!
Good luck! Buying a house is such a major decision. Make sure you and YH are ready and don't let his parents try to make the decision for you.

So we were asked yesterday if we were going to pierce baby girl's ears by MIL. I said I think I want to wait until she's older. Like in when she can ask for them. MIL have me this shocked look because I said I didn't want to. She replied, but they won't remember when they're little. I just shook my head and said that we haven't really talked about it, but I have no rush to do it. You never know I might change my mind. It's just not a big decision for me right now. She seemed REALLY disappointed. Luckily DH agreed to go with whatever I felt after we talked about it later.
So this convo made me browse through ear piercing threads, and found this gem. I would be PISSED if it happened to me, but thankfully I know my MIL wouldn't do this.
HOLY SHIT! I would choke her, seriously, choke the life out of her....
Agreed. I can't imagine why her MIL thought that would go over OK. I would be so pissed. If for no other reason that I can't wear earrings. My ears were still getting infected a full year after I stopped wearing the earrings. A nice roundhouse kick to the head would take care of MIL.

I am in so much discomfort today. My stomach hurts, and I can't describe the pain. I'm nauseous, I feel like someone might be trying to stab my gut and RLP is so intense that sneezing is excruciating.
I got a fitbit for christmas and I tracked my sleep the last two nights---no wonder I am exhausted! I was "restless" 24 times and woke up 12 times. It's cool to have all this data but all the information is a little overwhelming!
I don't want to work today! In other news, we put our first coat of primer in the baby room last night. The previous (lovely) paint job is still glaringly obvious. At least one more coat of primer is needed, but it's fun to be making some progress!
I love my fitbit!!!! I'm obsessed. I've had one for about 4 years now, first the Ultra and now I wear the One. No one knows I wear it, I clip it to my bra strap.
The more you wear it @lia619 it will get 'smarter' and know you better. It's fabulous, and a great motivator.
I also have the scale they have, and it tracks everything for me (well, it did, when I was in weight loss mode)... It's amazing how technology can help and inspire people to move more!
I think the baby doesn't like me sleeping half on my stomach at night. I've been waking up with a ridiculous amount of RLP on my right side. After staring at my belly this afternoon, I'd swear he is scrunched up on the right side--it's huge on that side!
I was kind of put off that my mom bought me this for christmas especially with my body image issues. But I already love it and it's fun to see how far you walk at work, home, or shopping. I definitely see how this will be helpful after baby. The sleep tracking is my favorite feature right now. I wish I had the one that clipped to my bra instead of this watch like one but, hey, it was a gift
Does the watch one, is it waterproof? That was my big fear in getting that one for DH, he washes his hands more than the average bear and I'm worried he'll destroy it.
And my fitbits seem to have about an 18 month lifespan. I kill them. Either by washing them, or swimming with them (lol, I was so in the habit or wearing it I clipped it to my suit, like really? Duh.)
Did you get the app? It's great to have on your phone, uses Bluetooth to talk back and forth...
Also, whoever mentioned orange crush the other day....? I love you! Lol.
Finally got a haircut, my last one was in January. I cut off a little over 6". It feels so great and my face doesn't look AS puffy as it did before the cut.
Then I cleaned up the kitchen, and the crockpot lid clinked something at the wrong angle and exploded into a billion bitty shatters of glass all over the kitchen. What the hell do I do with a lidless crockpot? Do I just have to buy a whole new one, or can you get just lids? I love my crockpot, and I don't want to pay to replace the whole damn thing. Argh!
I bet you could find one on eBay or online someplace... I bet they have a factory store or something you could but just the lid at - I can't imagine your be the first to have one do that! GL! And sorry about the sucky day!

I'm such a happy dork in realizing the baby carrier I bought today was the exact one I had researched and put on my Amazon wish list. I thought it was similar, but, couldn't remember exactly and just assumed it was good enoigh since I tried it on. It was like an awesome pregnancy brain moment!!!
@celticlullaby I feel like such an idiot! I just now finally took the time to actually read your username and saw that it is celtic lullaby. I always just kind of skimmed and read it as cellulite something! Way different!
My massage lady talked through the whole fucking massage. She has some serious baby on the brain. All the questions she asked were totally inappropriate, and she kept telling me how messed up this baby is making my back. All I wanted was some quite time, on my belly, and a good rub. I feel fantastic but Christ on a cracker, shut the F up!
I don't LOVE the name we picked, but I like it and it really was the only name DH and I could agree on. Are there any other names you were considering? Maybe have some options and wait until you meet him to see what fits? And TP to your ILs!
We will def keep correcting them. We do have a back up name, Marshall Allen. He just feels more like an Ethan than a Marshall. I liked the idea of picking it in advance so I can personalize and monogram some things but I may just need to wait until he is here. My IL's are just super annoying. When we didn't know if baby was a girl or boy she said no matter what girl name we picked she would call her Piper and that LO would say "my grandma calls me Piper and you can too...." I realllllly wanted to TP her that day.
Your in laws sound terrible. I like the name Ethan a lot and think you should stick with it. What about changing his MN so she can't call him EJ? Or have your DH give her a piece of his mind. Maybe if she can't call your baby by the right name she doesn't need to visit baby.
