My electricity went out. Guess I'll just snuggle under the covers some more. Anyone want to deliver some coffee to me?
Stay warm! You can always go to my house...no one is there. Lol! Or you can come to SF and play with me because my fellow criminologists at this conference are booorrring!
Haha, yeah that would be good. Can you also bail me out of jail for B&E your home? SF sounds like the winning scenario!
@edoliesmom we use Luvs during the day and Pampers Baby Dry at night (cause Luvs leaked at night). Not sure if it's got to do with the belly sleeping or just cause he's in the diaper for longer. But no leaks with baby dry at night for us
We're using Luvs right now, so maybe that's part of the issue. I know tummy sleeping is part of it because the back of her diaper is dry, whereas when she slept on her back or side it wasn't. I'll try Pampers Cruisers and see how she does with those. Thanks y'all!

Had a nice night in the city last night. We had dinner in Chinatown, and then I went back to the room and took a bath and read in the big comfy bed that I had all to myself. So glad I didn't go out to the bars. Some coworkers were out till 2 and they're dying this morning. It's hilarious.
And C did well without me, yay! He followed the exact same pattern for his dad that he does when I'm home. Two wakeups and up for the day at 6, happy as a lark.
All kinds of jealous. King size bed, fluffy white duvet sounds fabulous.
@edoliesmom A is a belly sleeper, too. His cloth diapers stopped lasting through the night so he wears pampers baby dry overnight. I agree with whoever said you should pull them up high in front. It will get more absorbent area where you need it.
Is Edolie feeling better? I hope you both got some better sleep!
Pampers have always worked really well for us, so I think it's a good solution. I'll try pulling them up high too. Edolie coughed for 2 straight hours last night, but she hasn't coughed at all during her first nap! I feel a little more rested today. Thanks for checking on us!

@celticlullaby Luvs usually work well for us, but I guess just not for overnight. Target brand has worked well for us too, so I might try those again also.

DH just told me he arranged for my brother and SIL to keep Quinn overnight so he could take me on a surprise date in Toronto tonight! We're going to a super fancy sushi place that apparently has a 2 1/2 hour seating (uhhh I might die) and then we're going to the aquarium at 9 since it's open til 11 pm. I'm so excited!
SUSHI BEER FISHIES SLEEP WEEEEEEEE
I could have spent 2 hours watching the jelly fish wall.

I'm thinking you're gonna have to fit a little something else in between the fishies and the sleep. :-\"
Why the fuck are babie books so expensive? They have like 5 words. I want to do that 25 days of books for the 25 days of Christmas because I'm a sap and went to the dollar tree to get some "filler" kid books because they are so damn expensive everywhere else and most of those were shit.

Second hand. We have almost no new books, they are ridiculously expensive
I can't believe [US] Thanksgiving is next week! My husband has the whole week off. I'm so excited! We're going to my grandparents like we do every year, and they live near Dallas. He wants to go to the cemetery where Lee Harvey Oswald is buried to find his grave, so that will be interesting...

@MrsStanton87 it is possible that he just pooped or peed. Is he more active now than he was 3 weeks ago? Slight weight loss can happen when they start scooting/crawling.
Actually, 2 oz is just a fluctuation in weight. I would not worry.

Ahaha you ladies are hilarious. Sex will be had, that's a given!
Just dropped Q off in a fucking blizzard. We are not making the train or our reservation...sigh. BUT we are staying local and having sushi, then walking to our fave bar 2 blocks from our house. Ain't nobody stoppin' me from having a great night! Anyone want to buy our aquarium tickets? Lol.
This is my 'yeeeeeah we're not making dinner, thanks Canada' face.
So I know I'm always popping in here to ask for validation, but here I go again! I think it's so great that @dani+california is going out for the whole night, and am jealous of pp's at conferences talking about big, soft, empty beds.... BUT, I'm still not remotely interested in going out at night, especially not overnight. It doesn't help that LO is such a shitty sleeper, but still, I think it would be healthy to want to get away. Anyone else still feeling completely tethered to LO? Any tips for changing my mindset a little?
Omggggggggggg. Day after shots rage in our house. Little lady was a huge grump all day, now when I'm at my most exhausted she's hulking out and fighting sleep. I just swaddled the shit out of her, newborn style and I hear no more screaming. Please sleep baby. You're tired, you have a fever, y u no sleep?!
@meg.eliz1 love that little jellybean. So excited for you!
I'm so jealous of you mamas doing swim classes. DH is doing them starting in January, but I have to skip out because I'm allergic to chlorine. Yes, I'm that guy.
LO loves a monster book I picked up at the Dollar Spot at Target. She cracks up! It's called Tumbly Bumbly. The 25 don't have to be age appropriate books. Check out scholastic book orders for cheap paperback books for next year.
I JUST placed an Amazon order for some board books. I bought a couple more Sandra Boynton snce LO loves Moo Ba La La La. and got one that DD1 loved. She's getting Brown Bear Brown Bear from grandma. That was DD2s favorite. I could read it while I watched TV. Knew every word and I could probably still recite it!
I love Sandra Boynton books! Also, hit up Marshalls, Ross, T.J. Max for cheaper book options
What do you all see for my siggy? Because when I post I still see my stupid pregnancy ticker, but when I go to change it, I see the code for my new ticker already there and saved. I don't get it...

@MrsW26 Abbys lane might take a few extra days to ship right now since they just had that bumgenius exclusive. They just posted on their Facebook that they finally finished shipping that.
@swerbtastic3351You ordered from Abbyslane before, right? How long after your order was processed before it shipped? It's only been a few days since it processed and my money came out so I'm not worried yet, just curious.
Busy day with no time to keep up here . Hope all enjoy those swim lessons. LO hated swimming with a firey passion, so we're stopping now that the lessons actually cost money (they were free until 7 months). We'll do more when he gets older.
After stressing about the orthopediest, he went and canceled on me so that he could leave the office early [-( . May just wash my hands of everything and go to a new one, though I'm still on the fence if he needs one at all. Thanks for the support yesterday, @celticlullaby, @mamrotu73 and @3crazykitties

@Ooopsbaby14 if you like Sandra Boynton check out the going to bed book. Our LO loves it!
@myla14 we've only gone out together a handful of times, but I've left her with my husband quite a bit. The thing that helps me to relax is I just tell the sitter to do whatever it takes to make her happy. If that means rocking her to sleep with her paci then I'm fine with that. One bedtime isn't going to screw up her not so great sleep anyway. I'm definitely not ready for overnight though. Mainly bc I don't want to have to pump
@edoliesmom my pp boobs were a C and are now a DD with nursing. I think they're awful (still saggy even though they're large) and get jealous of myself when I look at old pictures. How stupid is that? Anyways, I will definitely be getting new ones ">
Thanks, all. I do leave the baby to work part-time, but have only missed 3 bedtimes. The first he was 5 weeks old and didn't really have a routine. The other two with my MIL went Really Poorly, reportedly with hours of crying and zero eating or sleeping. But I think it would be good for my marriage to at least want a date night, even if we don't go, lol.
@swerbtastic3351 sorry about your husband....nothing's more of a turn on than being hassled for sex, right?
I lost that big contest tonight. Pretty bummed about how it went down, there was a finalist who also lost who had a really polished idea and a great presentation, so I guess I'm in good company. I made a few good networking connections and there were definitely silver linings, but at the moment I'm just feeling a little defeated.
@JessieAlbin - Sorry to hear that . It sounds like you put a lot into this and had a great chance of winning; it's unfortunate that in some contests even very deserving people like yourself aren't able to win. Glad you're able to find a silver lining.
Here's a cupcake - you more than deserve a special treat.
Hope you feel better soon!
