Recovering from a bronchitis/double ear infection combo... It's been a killer week.

I don't mind randoms but I feel the same as above-I love it if I can personalize the gift. I just reallllllly love gift giving and hate giving something half assed.

It's not that I want to be mean or exclude people or think randoms won't send presents - but I want to shop for someone I know. Most of the ladies in the last exchange, I knew where y'all live (vaguely, I mean, not like a stalker with addresses), kids' genders, names, other siblings, some idea of career or SAHM moms - and some idea of your personality, likes, humor, etc. I mean I don't know everything about everyone, and there's stuff I confuse (for example, I'm sorry, but I know I've mixed up jessieann and jessiemax) but I could say SOMEthing about almost everyone, we've shared our stresses and worries and joys, and that makes it fun and personal to buy gifts. It's why I'm invested in putting a smile on my giftee's face.

If you don't post, and suddenly you feel left out - I'm sorry, but just start posting! It doesn't matter if you've lurked for forever, if you don't talk, we don't know you. And it's weirder to share names & addresses and shop for a stranger. But this board is nothing but welcoming when people start talking, so get involved, and join in next time!

Not to be a downer. I know this was brought up in UO. Brittany Maynard, the woman with brain cancer, did ultimately end her life this weekend. She had mentioned earlier this week that it didn't feel like the right time. She said she felt herself getting sicker by the day. Very sad story, but a very brave woman.

I'm not sure I can survive living on this couch for the next 6m to a year. There are only So many alien conspiracies shows I can take. Please tell me having a career will pay off and I'll survive hours a day non stop of ancient aliens?

@emilyann64‌ if no one minds, I'll be your lurker exchange buddy. I didn't keep up with RTT in the beginning so I missed a lot and only just started trying to keep up with the posts.

Anyway, we had a terrible sleep night last night and I'm hoping tonight goes better. LO purple face screamed on and off from 7pm- 3am. I thought she was teething, turns out she had gotten crazy diaper rash. I felt terrible and DH was no help because apparently "he can't handle when she screams uncontrollably "... I told him he better step up tonight because I can't be up with a screaming infant for hours again.

Taking Savannah to my old job today! Very excited to see my friends! I love being a stay at home mom, but I miss my work friends. You develop some pretty great friendships when you work 60 hours a week for 9 years with the same ppl.

I'm nervous too. They haven't seen her since she got her helmet. I don't want ppl judging.

Does anyone in here know how long after exposure to hand, foot and mouth you would see symptoms? My nephew had it last week, diagnosed last Monday. We of course were with them the Friday and Saturday before that, and that Monday morning. I am supposed to take my LO to a friends house tomorrow to visit and "play" with their 4 month old and don't want to risk passing the virus. The pediatrician kind of just acted like it's something that happens in childhood, no need to worry, but I'd rather not pass it along if Jake could have it. I kind of feel like our risk window has passed. Any real world experience out there?

I did let her know, but we are both first time moms and I think afraid of over reacting, but not wanting to deal with H,F & M either. The pictures of the rash look horrible!

Asked my SIL to come over and watch DD while I take a nap since I got zero sleep last night. Instead, I am laying in my bed upstairs listening to them play in the living room. Fail.

Working from home today. Sick, feverish baby who only wants to be held and sleep on you or nap in his crib... Poor kiddo.

The cat is actually more trouble than LO when I work from home. Currently he's sitting in my lap purring and attention whoring.

This happens to me everytime I ask DH to take the baby so I can sleep in. I can hear everything that goes on downstairs so it's pointless. I appreciate his help, though.

It's not you. I tried accessing the private group from a computer yesterday, and you can't do it from the groups tab, which is stupid and they need to fix it. There's a tiny link right above it that says "check out the new groups!" and that's what you have to click on in order to get to the private group.
