Hi mamas. I'm Kate from WA. I just found out that I'm expecting baby #3 and the app says due date of Dec 30. I have an almost 5yr old, an almost 2yr old and 2 angel babies. I know it's super early but I'm hoping joining in the discussion will help keep the anxiety away while I wait for that first ultrasound. This will be my boyfriend's first and I'm nervous but excited for our little family to grow!
Hi welcome @mama_katydid I joined in super early too for similar reasons. I also remember making great friends on these boards when I was pregnant with my 9 and 7 year olds. I'm also having my third baby with my new partner. It's extra exciting having this experience be all new for him. Hope this board helps your nerves and the weeks until your first u/s fly by.
Hi everyone! I’m 22 from Indiana and honestly I don’t know when exactly I’m due… all we know is early December? I graduate with a bachelors in Elementary Education in December too so just in time! This pregnancy was definitely a surprise! I had a miscarriage at a little over 5 weeks in February and immediately got pregnant again in March! It’s crazy and the doctors are struggling to date this one since I haven’t had a period since January 1. I’ve had one other miscarriage in Oct. 2020 so this makes this my 3rd pregnancy and I’m super nervous due to my past but I’m really trying to stay positive but I truly believe in this one!
Hi everyone! I'm 25 and from Massachusetts and Icurrently have a wonderful 10 month old baby boy. I'm hoping December baby is a girl but I'm ok with being just a boy mom too. I already bought the sneak peak gender test to do in a couple of weeks!! I'm Looking forward to my first ultrasound. That's when it all begins to feel so real for me. I'm both super excited and super nervous to have 2 under 2 but my husband and I decided on having them close in age because our friends / family don't have babies yet and they don't plan on it anytime soon. I hope everyone has a smooth pregnancy :)
Hi all! I’m 29 living in southern NH (but originally from Boston) and just hit 5 weeks, due 12/22, but wondering if we’ll end up with a Christmas baby 😂 This is mine and my husband’s first pregnancy so we’re a mixed bag of nerves and excitement. I keep being so paranoid that I’m going to miscarry, I don’t know how not to think about that constantly idk why. I have my first Drs appt w/ ultrasound scheduled at 8 weeks. I’m currently waiting on a 48 hour HCG level check to make sure things are progressing normally so I’m super anxious right now. And we both decided we would wait until 13 weeks (completion of first trimester) before telling anyone else so yes keeping this secret is incredibly hard! It’s nice to be able to tell this forum at least 😂
Hi all! Just tested positive this morning. We've been trying for 8 months for our second, and I totally thought I was out this month with 4 days of spotting over the weekend. When my period didn't show up after the spotting like it usually does, I took a test this morning "for fun." Was shocked to see a line, clear as anything. I just said, "uhhhhh??" Which brought my husband in, and he took one look at the test and said, "oh, so you're ovulating now?" And I had to tell him it was a pregnancy test, not an ovulation test. Took two more test to be sure, and he went out to buy us sparkling juice to celebrate.
Looks like my EDD is Dec 26, but I'm interested to see how that changes after a dating ultrasound. My first adjusted by a week.
Anyway, my first will be 3 next month, and I'm super not looking forward to first trimester exhaustion and nausea while looking after a busy preschooler! Especially for our busy mornings getting out the door to daycare.
I'm notoriously terrible at keeping up with forums, but I'm going to do my best!
hi! my name is Grace, I’m 25 & live in middle-of-nowhere PA :) I miscarried in February & just found I was pregnant on Monday! I’m sooooo excited but also nervous & just a ball of emotions. Due date is Christmas day!!! Praying for a sticky baby!
Hi, there! I'm feeling pretty stunned to be here, and tentatively hopeful about sticking around. I'm 42, living in NC, and due on Christmas Day. It took nearly a year to conceive my daughter 12 years ago, yet we managed to knock me up on our first try this time around. I'm hoping that bodes well for the rest of this journey. Never thought I'd be back in the bump community but I was a very active poster 8+ years ago and made some amazing, enduring friendships. Congrats and well wishes to everyone here!
Hello! My name is Tabatha and I live in Moody, Alabama. My husband and I are expecting our first! The first Dr appt is June 1st. Congratulations to everyone out there!
Lauren here. Im 32 and from Michigan and this will be my 3rd baby. Due December 9th. This one was a surprise (kinda) I warned my husband I was stopping my birth control 3 months before I did. His job was to get a vasectomy. Welp he procrastinated. His appointment is in May and we just found out a couple weeks ago I was pregnant. Opps! 😂
Hello all! My name is Brittany I’m 25 and pregnant with my first. I’ve always wanted to be a mom but this is still pretty unexpected. My partner and I decided we would start trying, with the understanding that my chronic health would probably not Let us conceive for a while. I’ve had so many problems that we just wanted to start trying as a way to bring hope to me. Not waste a single moment kind of thing and now I’m lucky enough to be pregnant but it’s so early and I’m so new to everything I get so nervous about making it to 14 weeks when I guess they say the risk of loss is less. Idk I’m just so nervous. I really feel lucky and I want this pregnancy to be healthy as can be, even if my body wasn’t when we started. I’m really excited just nervous as heck so if anyone is in a similar position, hi and good luck to us!
Hi there! I’m Laurel, 34 years old, and I’m in the Atlanta, GA area. Due on December 9th with our first! It’s been quite the journey to get here as my husband and I had been trying for years and finally had to go the IVF route (props to anyone else that went through that journey -truly one of the hardest things I’ve ever done). I’m super nervous as this is my first time actually being pregnant, so I’m not sure what to expect. I’m also high risk, so that makes it even more nerve wrecking. BUT we had our first ultrasound today to check on the little bean. Just keeping my fingers crossed that all continues to be very uneventful and stress-free. Congrats to all the mamas here! <3
Hello! I’m Emily! I’m 35 and 5w6d pregnant with my first. Lots of emotions on my part so I’m taking it day by day. My husband and our families are very excited. Due December 17th according to the app but I have my first appointment on May 2nd to confirm.
Hi everyone :) I am 29, and 4w3d pregnant with my first. It was a bit of a shock, I got off birth control with the expectation that we would start trying in 6 months to a year. I’ve only been off of it for a few months! Still, we are very excited. I’m already incredibly nauseous so I hope it doesn’t get too much worse.
Hi everyone!!! My name is Hanna and I’m from South Carolina. My husband and I found out we are expecting on my 25th birthday (April 8th) and it has been a whirlwind of excitement and uncertainty. This will be our first child, and my husband is in the army and will not be with me for the majority of our pregnancy (May 2nd - Oct 15th). I have not yet had my first prenatal appointment (May 4th), but the app says the expected due date will be December 18th. Have any other mommas had/ have to go through the majority, or all of, their pregnancy without their partners? Any advice on how to cope? I love reading everyone’s stories, and I’m so excited to be a part of a community like this!
Hi all! I'm Jen; I'm 35 from Massachusetts. It's nice to meet you all--I've been lurking for a couple weeks now but have been nervous to join in. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!
Hi All! I'm Amy, 29 years old (the big 30 next month! :# ) I am from South Wales in the UK and EDD is 28th December, we had our BPF on 22nd April (Friday) ... After nearly 4 years of trying! I have a nearly 11-year-old son and I miscarried twins back in 2018 at 9 weeks but measuring 6 weeks. I am a bag of nerves at the moment, expecting to see blood every time I go on the loo or any little twinge or cramp I keep thinking this is it! .. Please someone tell me this gets easier!? argh.. Anyway, congratulations to all you wonderful mamas on your BPFs! Here's to a happy and healthy next 7/8 Months! xxxx
Hi everyone! I’m Erin, I’m 35 and am from Canada. I’m due December 24 with our first and I’m both anxious and excited. I’m a Registered Nurse and love hiking, reading and spending time with our two dogs.
@amyp92x Welcome and happy almost 30! My birthday is your EDD, lol. I'm so sorry for your losses. Hugs. A lot (if not all) of us ate feeling those first trimester nerves worrying over every little thing, but I know it is more intense for mamas that have had a loss. There's going to be Pregnant After Loss Check In on Thursdays here to help get through.
Hello all my name is Janine, 25, first pregnancy. Very weird feelings as I was hoping to never have kids. I’m nervous, just reading through everything right now.
Hi everyone. My name is Karen, I'm 41. My husband and I started trying 3 years ago, got pregnant right away and had a miscarriage. We then tried going to a fertility clinic and they told me we would not conceive naturally and our only option would be an egg donner that option just wasn't right for us. We had no luck for 3 years. I was so surprised when I got the positive test on April 1 ( April Fool's Day of all days!! ). Everything seems to be going well so far. We are just over 7 weeks and super excited for the ultrasound next week. HCG is looking good too. Looking forward to experiencing this journey with you all!
Hi! I'm 40 and expecting my 3rd. My due date is December 31st. I love in Texas, my 2 kiddos are 17 and 18. I am basically starting over. I am a little shocked about this miracle. I had my tubes tied in 2004 and had weight loss surgery in July 2021. This will be my husbands first child. He's helped raise my kids. We have been together 11 years. We are very excited to go on this journey.
Hi! I’m 33 and live at the beach in NC- expecting baby #2! Still very early 4 weeks 3 days and praying for no complications! Trying so hard not to be overly attached but every bit of knowing this sweet baby is inside of me right now has consumed my thoughts! Excited for this journey!
Hello! My name is Kirsti and I’m 27 (28 next month) and live in South Carolina. This is baby #2 for me! Due on December 14, buuuut my first came right at 37 weeks, so who knows 😂 Nice to meet you all!
Hi! I’m 40 and living in the DC Metro area. I’ll be 5w tomorrow with our 2nd! Our first came so easily… only 3 months, but this one took 9 months! I was about to start going through fertility testing, but LITERALLY the day I had tests scheduled I thought to take a test, and my 2 day spotting period was apparently implantation bleeding!! They then switched my tests to a sono and Hcg blood test to confirm instead!
Hi all! I’m Colleen, 38, in San Diego, CA. I’m 5w1d with my first and I’m so excited and really trying to stay in the joy but also nervous because it’s still so early. Our first prenatal visit is May 20th and we’re waiting to tell our families until after that, but it’s soooo hard for me not to tell my mom! Oh yeah, my due date based on LMP is December 27th
Hi! I’m 37 living in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. I just got a positive pregnancy test about 4 days ago. We’ve been trying for 3.5 years and have had two losses. My husband and I are in a bit of shock that we got it this month. So far I’m experiencing sore breasts, fatigue, nausea and acid reflux. We haven’t set any appointments yet but will be soon. I’m due Christmas Day it looks like!. So exciting. Though I’m feeling nervous to be happy about this because of our previous losses. But I’m so glad we have this group to talk about this. It’s so hard to keep this secret!!
I have a bit of a unique story, so please bare with me as this is the first time I’m sharing my story publicly. My husband and I were married for almost 10 years. We amicably split about a year ago. We have 2 sweet children, 7 & 5. Two years ago we tried for baby number 3 and after lots of testing (both of us), I was deemed infertile due to various issues. After a year of trying to defy the odds, my husband got a vasectomy and we called it a day. Fast forward to today, I’ve been seeing my current boyfriend for 6 months. He had testicular cancer last year and for that reason his chances of conceiving were low, like mine. One fateful night in March, we had a little too much fun after a friend’s engagement party and, well, I’m due December 23.
I couldn’t believe it. Neither could my doctor. I haven’t told many people because I’m admittedly a little embarrassed. My divorce isn’t even finalized. But I’m excited to share the news here; In a safe place with fellow moms who share that same excitement. I had Beta Testing done last Wednesday and my number were in the 1000s. This week, on Wednesday, my number was in the 8000s. I have a u/s this week, as I’m considered high risk.
Hi everyone! My name is Danielle I’m 32 and from Colorado! My husband and I have been trying for 7mn now for our first and found out last night! According to my dates we are 5 weeks along and edd December 30, we are very excited! I graduate nursing school in a week so I am excited to see how we will navigate both new adventures together.
Hi all! My name is Vanessa, I live in Colorado and my husband and I are expecting our first child 12/6! We had an ectopic pregnancy last year about this same time so we are cautiously optimistic. We already had our first dating scan and saw the heartbeat so feeling much less anxious 🥰.
Hello! My name is Jacquie. I'm 31. I am 5 weeks today with a due date of December 31st! My first prenatal appt is this Tuesday, at which I'll get my blood tests... so I know it's very early days for me, but I can't help but be excited! My husband and I have been trying for about 8 months, and expected a much longer go of it due to chronic pelvic issues I experience, so we are so surprised and happy! Wishing all of you health and happiness on your journey!
Hello everyone, my name is Michele. I am 39 and awaiting the arrival of my 1st! Due 12/8!
I’m a single mom by choice and used donor sperm via IVF. It’s been a 1.5 year journey with a couple losses early on. This is the furthest I’ve been and feel pretty great about it.
I love to travel, spend time outdoors bike riding and hiking and spending time with friends. Excited to be a mom and nervous at the same time to go at it solo, but I’ve always wanted kids and that clock was ticking!
Hiiiiee! 37 here and being cautiously optimistic that I can make it to the 2nd trimester with no major issues. Due date is 12/1! Live in Los Angeles juggling acting gigs and being a vip guide at universal studios.
Hello mamas! I am due 12/29 with baby number 2. I have a 13 mo old son. My husband and I started tying right after my son turned 1 and it did not take as long as we thought it would. Lol. I am very thankful my son is still taking 2 naps because have been exhausted the last few days.
Hello! I'm 26 and after TTC for 8 months, my husband and I are expecting our first! (Why doesn't anyone talk about how long it can take to get pregnant??) Most likely due at the end of December - Christmas baby! I'm a nurse, working for an NGO in Angola. Hoping to be able to fly home to Canada for baby's birth. We'll see how that goes! Thankful that so far I haven't had any nausea or even really any extra tiredness. Just excited to open this new chapter in our lives!
