Re: February Symptoms

  • @bridgiebee82 I’m glad your doctor could reassure you. That’s what has been happening to me the last few days so it sounded similar. Hopefully no more scares like that for you though.

  • @bridgiebee82 Glad everything looks good! Consistency with snacks and hydration is hard but helpful! Especially with dizziness, etc.. Maybe you could drink something with electrolytes in it to help if you don’t snack quite often enough. Maybe Body Armour, Gatorade, Re-Lyte, or Liquid IV. Just an idea! I hope things feel a little easier soon. 💕
  • Let's add diastasis recti pain to the list of third tri symptoms that are showing up way too early this time around!
  • Anyone have recommendations on Charlie horses? I’ve never had them before I’ve been getting them every morning.

  • @and_peggy stretching and bananas are my only advice.
  • @and_peggy potassium! Eat a banana.  That's what helps me.
  • @and_peggy I’ve started getting dull calf pain this pregnancy and I’ll have to 3rd the banana suggestion. It seems to really help.
  • Good to know! I hate bananas but I’ll suffer through it
    Pregnancy Ticker

    5.5.16 | 8.14.17 | 1.30.19
  • @and_peggy... ive also heard magnesium, I took it through my first pg and didn't have any issues after starting it
  • @and_peggy I’ve been making smoothies with banana and can hardly taste it once I add in all the other stuff!
  • Anyone else have one lonely chin hair popping up? When they said pregnancy makes your hair grow, this isn't exactly what I was picturing... :D
  • @twizzleraddict1 not yet but I'm reading a book "mama natural"  and new hairs in unexpected places was mentioned last chapter!
  • @BumpAdmin this wacko bot is trying to sell babies. please remove.

  • Where are all these troll accounts coming from??

@and_peggy Coconut water!! It works way better than a banana plus it so many other benefits. I am not a huge fan of bananas either and I learned the coconut water trick from horse back riding. Trust me!
  • @twizzleraddict1 yes, but it's been happening for years and doesn't seem to be pregnancy related. Probably just age! But if you pluck it out it doesn't come back for several months at least, so pretty low maintenance.
  • @wisewitch222 mine is pregnancy-related (had it last pregnancy too), I even named it last pregnancy, which DH did not love lol. When I pluck her, she just keeps growing back with a vengeance, but honestly, she's nothing compared to my abundant postpartum flyaways, they truly are the worst.
  • I had to break out the compression pants and Tylenol part way through the day... My back & stomach muscles are so sore & I just can't get comfy while working at all. My uterus must be growing...
  • @darkrose88 hopefully things feel better after the Tylenol.

Every time I have eaten for the past two days, it hasn’t stayed down. To include the stupid nausea meds. Which don’t work very well if you throw them back up. I’m hoping that my food today stays down. 🤞🏻
  • It seems my feet are a touch swollen. I noticed yesterday, and again today.

This seems way too early.. maybe bc I'm sitting most of the day. Need to do better to get up and move more often during work. So different than being at the office.
  • I got my 4th Covid vaccine on saturday (I have to take an immunosuppressant for MS) and all day yesterday I was super nauseous and threw up once. I wasn’t this nauseous during most of 1st tri! Then this morning I started having liquid bms and threw up again. Does this seem like food poisoning more than the vaccine? I’m really nervous about listeria even though I’m really careful. I’m going to call my ob today but just wanted to see if anyone had GI issues after getting a Covid booster. Thanks!
  • @pastabilities To me that actually sounds like the norovirus. Food poisoning is usually a lot more violent and painful get the poison out of me kind of GI symptoms. I believe nausea and vomiting is one of the possible side effects of the booster, so it could be that.
  • So since pregnancy colds are a thing... I have a yucky sinus thing going on, swollen glands, and a gnarly split lip from being chapped, as well as ulcers on my tongue. My gums are swollen and I really just want to wake up from this nightmare of sickness.
  • @wisewitch222 this is miserable. I didn't go to work today, and I'm considering calling out tomorrow too.
  • @bridgiebee82 I'm on spring break right now, but last week when I had it I kept going to work with the ol' KN95 on because it's so much easier for me to just go than to cancel classes or teach on Zoom, which are my only options as there are no subs in college.
  • Has anyone had any experience with hearing/feeling your heartbeat or pulse in your ears? Afraid it may be a sign of high blood pressure. I have a check up on Wednesday so I'll address it with my doctor then but curious if anybody has anything to add. It seems to be worse in the morning right when I wake up
  • @tmartin014 I’m not sure. Sometimes things like that can be from being dehydrated?? Have you been drinking lots of water?

@bridgiebee82 I hope you feel better. That sounds miserable.
  • @mdfarmchick I do better with water during the week because I refill my jug all day at work. I am not as diligent about it in on the weekend so that may be it. I will pay more attention to if it’s just in the morning + on weekends that would make sense with not enough water
  • @tmartin014 I feel acutely aware of my heartbeat this pregnancy! I hear it, I see it, I feel it in my stomach. My bp has been good at every appt, including today. But I would still recommend mentioning it to your doctor.
  • @pastabilities I haven't taken the booster yet (but I do have plans to in the near future). Just hoping in to share that I'm actually quite certain I had a mild case of food poising (possibly norovirus) on Friday night. I was super nauseous for a few hours then started getting liquid BMs for about an hour or two until it cleared out of my system. Based on my experience, I'd say that it was unlikely food related since once I was hit I was down until it all got out of my system.
  • I hate swamp crotch. The end.
  • I thought I had turned a corner in the second tri but woke up this morning and puked as soon as I got out of bed. The worst.

also, I’ve been getting like light cramping in my uterus that I don’t remember from my first pregnancy. It doesn’t feel painful but definitely noticeable. It is random and sometimes happens right after I pee. Anyone else?
  • @buffythevampireslayer I think normal. Growing uterus. Cramps are more common after the first pregnancy is what I have been told. 🤷🏻‍♀️
  • @wisewitch222 and @darkrose88 my nurse practitioner agreed that it sounds more like norovirus or stomach flu since I don’t have a fever. She said GI side effects are less common with the vaccine but you never know since GI stuff is so common in pregnancy. I haven’t had a stomach bug like this in years so I forgot what it was like! Drinking Gatorade and I’ve had two bites of toast which has stayed down so far so hopefully over the hump. Also, @wisewitch222 I’m also a college prof! I cancelled my class for tomorrow and will teach Wednesday’s online since I’m used to it from last semester. It was supposed to be my first week back! Oh well.
  • @pastabilities that sounds rough, I hope it is short lived and you feel better soon!
  • @pastabilities well here's my college prof booster story: the day after my second shot last spring I preemptively canceled my morning class and moved my afternoon class to Zoom. It wasn't necessary. All I had was a mild headache. Fast forward to the end of November, I was taking my son to get his second shot on a random Tuesday after school when the CDC started saying all adults should get the booster, so I thought, "Well I'll just get it now since I'm at the clinic anyway" and didn't give any thought to class the next day. I went to work with muscle aches like you would not believe and old-lady style knee pain where I had to take the elevator. 🤣🤣 But yeah, I would stay home with the norovirus too.
  • @tmartin014 I can currently feel my heartbeat in my back, and sometimes it’s in my ears. I hadn’t thought to mention it to my doctor since BP has been fine, but maybe I should? Probably also not getting enough water.

    @mdfarmchick the. worst.

@and_peggy Bananas are often the go to food people think of when potassium, but I relate to you and don’t really like them either. 🤣 So here’s a link to foods that have MORE potassium than a banana, including watermelon! It gives you better options!😅 https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/foods-loaded-with-potassium

My symptoms haven’t been too bad. My nausea has been much less the last few weeks, but the waves have been a bit heavier when they do come the last couple weeks. I had a couple instances of throwing up this past week and a half, but most of the day, I’m not nauseous. My teeth have been a little more sensitive or maybe shifted in the tiniest way that’s bugging me. Shortness of breath pops up quite often. I feel achier faster when I’m out shopping and such. I am definitely transitioning into the lesser symptom days overall!
