Re: *Symptoms Thread*

  • @nursejenn5 YES. Terrible taste in mouth over here too! I have been breaking of pieces of candy canes to suck on throughout the day.
  • Loading the player...
  • @nursejenn5 same here. I remember someone posting about how brushing your teeth is terrible because it makes you gag (true over here too!), but brushing my teeth is literally the only thing that takes that taste away. But like you said, only for a short while  :'(
  • asf0613 @blaf322 @hbird0723 The potatoes were so good. I also had some instant gravy that I piled on top. I had far too much, but it was the only thing I felt like eating. MIL very sweetly bought spaghetti ingredients, but I just couldn't.

I am so sick this morning. I threw up in my mouth twice before coming to work. I really just want to go home, but the woman who would have to cover for me is so bitchy on Monday mornings that it just isn't worth the hassle. I will probably leave an hour early or so.

@mayisch I know what you mean. I made coffee for DH before he left for work on Saturday and I had to leave the kitchen immediately.
  • @meri-mac ugh... I'm so sorry you're having a bad nausea day! Hopefully it improves at least a little throughout the day :(

  • @meri-mac I am so sick too.... I've been up for 3 hours and I already threw up 3 times   I don't remember feeling this awful last time, right now my only hope is that this will be over past the 1 trimester....
  • @blaf322 Thank you.

@mayisch Oh honey. I'm so sorry that is awful. It should get better in the second trimester. That is what I am focusing on. Only 3-4 more weeks.
  • @kristinl492 yes, it is! It is back in full gear today so I’m currently laying on the floor exhausted trying not to throw up. Should have enjoyed it while it lasted!

  • I’m nervous today because I’m having some nausea this morning, but both my husband and my younger daughter had some kind of stomach bug in the past week. And I’ve been having very little nausea, and none in the morning. And I don’t have time to have a stomach bug!
  • @Pascal86 :#:#:# oh nooo! FX it's not the stomach bug!
  • @Pascal86 I hope it’s just some surprise (hopefully mild) morning sickness and not a nasty bug!

My symptom for today is that I will never understand how flat water makes me burp. It’s water! Is there NOTHING I can ingest  that won’t cause gas?? 😂
  • @mayisch all the time. When I wake up it’s the worst.
  • I think I’m in the clear and it was just morning sickness! No stomach bug so far!

I’m still a little freaked out by my general lack of nausea, but pending my first ultrasound tomorrow going well, you’re all making me feel a little better. What you’re going through with the sickness sounds so rough!
  • I also gag every time I brush my teeth. I burb after eating and drinking, even water. I wake up once every night to pee.

    Fun symptom:
Excited I popped today 11w + 4d. Got a small bumb! 9th pregnancy 5th one to go past 10 weeks. I've also noticed little flutters where baby is! (So exciting)

    Not so fun symptoms:
I'm still dealing with nausea. Still have sore boobs, but I can deal with that. I once loved onions. Now I cannot stand the scent or the look of them. I cannot drink water without having a full lemon inside of it. I'm trying to resolve not having the linger after taste in my mouth so much. The only thing I can stand to help with that sometimes is cinnamon flavored items. I cannot stand peppermint or anyting mint. I've been getting headaches lately. And still want to sleep my life away. Hopefully in a couple of weeks these symptoms will fade away

  • @Pascal86 honey I get jealous of those who don't have the 1st trimester blues and births shorter than 24 hours. All of my children births were 28 hours or longer! I'm sure everything will be fine! I can't wait for you to update us with the good news!

@Elle131 I'm jealous. You only get up once. Try minimum of 3! Lol I'm so nervous for the rest of the pregnancy lol
  • I am 7 weeks and have a few symptoms. Since it’s early I know they could get worse though. So far I’ve had a few bouts of nausea and food aversions. I’ve been dizzy a few times and I’ve had a cold for a month  that I can’t seem to get rid of. Peeing a lot more. Doing pretty good so far. This is my fourth pregnancy and my first two were constant puking so I hope to avoid that again.
  • @Pascal86 Minus a handful of nauseous moments I've had almost no morning sickness and had a totally normal ultrasound and just started week 10. I do constantly feel like I've been hit by a truck I'm so tired all the time.
  • Just generally uncomfortable the past few days. Occasional nausea throughout the day but the *sorry tmi* constipation has hit. And I started some metemucil too late in the game. So from that just so bloated and uncomfortable.
  • My doctor prescribed a combo of b6 and unisom for my all day sickness. I was hesitant to take a sleep aid but it is on the “safe list” and has been an absolute life saver!
  • Yes. It’s terrible. I try to chew gum or eat mints because i feel like my breath is never fresh
  • Hey, ladies. Tomorrow I will be 8 weeks. Last night in bed I pulled something in my lower abdomen. Since then it has been sore and achey. Would this be round ligament pain? Or is it too soon for that? I’ve also been having a weird tinge/pulling sensation in what I think is my bladder? Or near my bladder? I don’t know. It’s just strange feeling and I was wondering if others have experienced this too.
  • @elk90 I occasionally have sharp pulling sensations in my pelvic/groin areas. Usually one side at a time. And is worse when my legs are straight or I’m standing.  I assumed it was round ligament pains.
  • @elk90 @nursejenn5 I have pulling sensations in my groin area too, like when I walk after sitting for long periods and then it disappear, I blame round ligaments, I am not to worried about that but if it really bothers you or are concerned about that I would ask your Dr.
  • I am also in the club of peeing at least 3 times a night which is crazy to me because I’ve struggled so much getting water down this time. There’s no way there should be that much to pee out!

I’ve been having some round ligament pain as well like pulling and pressure specially around my groin hip area. It definitely makes me nervous when I feel anything but trying to remind myself it’s just baby making room.

  • @k_shaunte ultrasound today looked good, so now I’m just 100% grateful for minimal nausea instead of stressed! I don’t totally prescribe to the girls = morning sickness thing, but I am kind of curious if it’s a big given my lack of nausea (two girls before, each made me feel so much worse). Or maybe it just hasn’t hit me yet. 😂

And both my births have definitely been under 24 hours - don’t you have a bunch of babies? You must have an insane collective number of hours spent laboring and giving birth! 👏👏👏

Edit- accidentally posted here re: spotting before finding appropriate discussion
  • @elk90 that sounds like RLP but RLP usually goes away pretty quickly... if it feels like you did something and it's still hurting I would maybe call your nurse line and see what they say.
  • @rachelredhead that should be crossposted to WTF Wednesday! Because WTF!
  • TMI probably, but what is going on with this cervical mucus? Am I the only one?
  • I think I have come to the realization that, while many of my coworkers are being annoying, irritability/becoming irritable very easily may be a symptom of pregnancy and also why I am instantly annoyed at my coworkers doing (annoying but not the worst) things.
  • Someone keep me away from all the donuts. Seriously, a switch flipped and now they are all I want.

@rachelredhead I had broccoli at work today that was bordering on raw, it was so undercooked. I would’ve probably microwaved it if I wasn’t the laziest ever 😂
  • @pocketrose I totally get this and am living this as well 😂
  • @stlbuckeye132 yeah it never ends. After spotting in my last pregnancy that led to a bad outcome I’m constantly running to the bathroom just to figure out what’s going on down there! It’s not that intense, just constant!
  • @stlbuckeye132 same here! So much. Whereas most of my symptoms have been shifting each week, CM has been the one constant. So odd.
  • @stlbuckeye132 same here! It’s either that or apparently I have a very sensitive cervix so I get to freak out almost every time I use the bathroom now 🤦🏻‍♀️ Does anyone else have this issue? She said hormones have caused it to just overreact to everything. After my scare the other day and seeing that all was closed and looked good I’m trying to just remind myself that this might just be my norm this time but it’s hard!
    image

  • @stlbuckeye132 I weirdly just started experiencing this in past two days—hasn’t at any point until now!!
  • @stlbuckeye132 sounds like I have a spreadsheet in my near future.
