I took an extra B6 this morning because I was only taking 25 mg at night then maybe 10 during the day (there about that much in the prenatal I take) and by 10 this morning I noticed a difference. Hopefully that doesn’t mean tonight will be worse and I can make it to tonight’s B6 unisom. Anyone else having trouble sleeping from the unisom? I know that sounds silly but I almost feel like it is doing the opposite for me but I’m afraid to not take it since I’m so close to throwing up with it.
@hbird0723 so, to confirm, you're taking the doxylamine kind of Unisom, not the diphenhydramine kind, right? B/c I know diphenhydramine (benadryl) can give some energy and knock others (me) out. If so, maybe doxylamine is the same and it just has different effects for different people?
I don't feel like it makes me tired, but it definitely seems to help me sleep harder/better.
@blaf322 yes it’s the doxy one because I triple checked and had the pharmacist help me lol I am only taking a 1/2 because with my second they had me on diclegis and I always just took 1 instead of 2 because it made me tired as well and 1 seemed to work just fine so I thought why take more than I need. So I started with a half and maybe I’m just having insomnia and the half isn’t cutting it I don’t know. I might need to look into that.
Can I blame the tiny zits on the edge of my hairline on being PG even if I've always had meh to fine skin? Because these suckers are annoying and I wish they'd vanish...
@blaf322 I think I’m going to give it a try since my husband will be home tomorrow. That way if I’m real out of it he can cook the food 😂 maybe I just pretend that anyway.
All I wanted for lunch today was cereal and yogurt. That seemed reasonable and easy since I’m working from home today. But now? Heartburn from hell. From yogurt? Ugggggggggh.
@rachelredhead Heartburn is the worst! Yogurt was the only thing that really helped my heartburn with DD, but it turned my friend into a fire breathing dragon. Also, a fruit, granola parfait sounds delicious right now! Great suggestion lol
@pocketrose YES, because I’m having zits in the exact same spot. My skin is usually decent and when I do have issues, it’s usually around my ears or on my shoulders. Don’t know what’s going on with the hairline thing!
@rachelredhead I feel like heartburn is so backward during pregnancy sometimes. With my first 2 I actually felt better after something fried but bland things would give me heartburn. It seems to be the opposite this time though and the Oikos lemon meringue yogurt with some blueberries in it is like one of the few things I can eat right now. Now I’m craving it and we don’t have any 😔
@rachelredhead. Ugh, heartburn is the worst! I hope it's not too bad for you going forward. I had it so bad with DS. I probably should have taken stock out in tums and zantac.
Anyone else panic slightly when symptoms fluctuate? Breasts aren't as tingley today, but the nausea came back and the fatigue is ever present. Focusing on the positive. Ohm...
@meri-mac. YEP. Mine haven't been super strong to start out with and when there is nothing, I definitely worry. My doctor tells me not to worry and I didnt have super strong symptoms with my first, but that doesn't matter!
@JessDG Thank you for saying that. I have been failing to control the nerves in this department. It is 3 weeks until my 8 week u/s. I thought I was nervous when TTGP now it is even worse. I also have been having consistent low back pain since implantation so I can focus on that as a good sign.
If anyone has tips on how to keep the crazy at bay, please share!
Not sure if this is a symptom but yesterday we were doing a toast and I planned to have half a glass of champagne. Took one sip and nearly spit it out - it tasted terrible to me! What the heck! I guess sparkling cider is it for me for a while 🤦
@meri-mac@JessDG I totally get the anxiety tied to low symptoms. But one thing I’ve realized is that I tend to think of vomiting/intense morning sickness as the “real” symptom so if I don’t feel nauseous, I get anxious. It helps me to really take stock of all the ways I feel different, even if it’s easy to dismiss things like feeling bloated, tired, or having vivid dreams or extra acne. But those are all symptoms, too. Just helps me to frame it more like “do I feel kinda different?” as opposed to “do I have X intensity of symptoms?”
Best wishes on less anxiety! The struggle is real!
@meri-mac yesss... so much stress when my nausea goes away now. I’ll feel better if we have a good US on the 9th. But after everything with the pharmacy, I’m just stressed out and not totally sure how to control it at this point either
I also woke up not nauseated today and am totally freaking out after our bleeding last week. So glad I have an extra 6 days to worry since they moved my ululate sound lol. I do agree with @blaf322 my boobs still hurt, my face looks like a teenager who doesn’t know what face wash is and I am so ragey but I just like the ever present nausea as a sign little peanut is ok
@meri-mac I’m right with you! I have hardly had any symptoms besides sore boobs and even those aren’t too bad. FX for you and I wish I had words of wisdom about how to get through the next few weeks but I’m struggling to as well 😂
@rachelredhead Thanks! I will use that! I keep reminding myself that symptoms fluctuate and it is totally normal. I also keep saying "The embryo was high quality and my uterus is fantastic." That is what the RE and nurses kept saying so I use it as a mantra when the BSC starts to ramp up.
@b_1029 We are PUPO! Maybe you are just one of those lucky women that doesn't get many symptoms. When is your u/s?
@blaf322 Woo saah! Breathe in and breathe out! Like with b_1029, we are PUPO. the 9th isn't too far away now. You can do it!
whyyyyy does growing a human take the most energy out of you when they are the tiniest? Like how does that apple seed need 90% of this full grown woman's energy? Bring.on.the.weekend.
I ended Thanksgiving yesterday with an absolutely epic nosebleed. Pouring out of both nostrils and absolutely uncontrollable for about 10 minutes. It was just fantastic.
This is my 4th pregnancy and the symptoms are hitting me so hard at only 6 weeks. I’m having cramping but not like period cramps.. more like a cramp you would get while running. I feel it below my rib cage and it’s almost like round ligament pain that’s like a pull when I get up or move weird. It seems too early for round ligament pain though. Is anyone else having that feeling? I’m also already getting restless legs at night which I’ve had with my other pregnancies but not this early. It’s so weird how every pregnancy can be so different. I don’t think I even knew I was pregnant yet at 5/6 weeks with my other pregnancies 😂 this baby is making itself known very early I guess
@Fullhandsfullheart is it constant or does it come and go? I've had this all day plus spotting this morning and it's freaking me out. (It's my 4th too) hopefully just things stretching around!
@maythe4thbewithyou1234 it comes and goes but I notice it most if I’m sitting or laying down and then stand up. I’m hoping you’re right and it’s just everything shifting around in there
I’ll be 8w tomorrow and I’ve been having off and on cramps, more like stretching/pulling than anything else, plus some dull lower back pain. I had similar aches and twinges a couple weeks ago so I’m thinking it’s just growing pains but as a FTM I don’t really know what’s normal. 🤷♀️ No bleeding or spotting though so I’m just riding it out. Grow baby grow!
Nightmares. I'm having them like twice a week. Ugh.
Current pregnancy - First BFP on 1/4/22. Due date 9/13/22.
Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.
I keep getting so full so fast when eating. Uncomfortably so. But then hungry again relatively soon after. Like no thanks, I want to enjoy all the food I can while there’s not a large uterus squishing my internal organs!

Same here! And I just returned from a week of being constantly stuffed at my parents'. Does your belly get really bloated too? I found myself having to unbutton my jeans during every meal, lol.
I just ordered some seabands from Amazon. They were $6 so I figured worth a try and I’m finally getting a little more relief! I was starting to feel pretty down from being so tired and so sick 24/7 even with unisom and B6. I’m definitely not 100% but I feel better than I did so I thought I’d pass it on for anyone else struggling.
@hbird0723 I’m so glad to hear that. I’m grateful to still be pregnant but today has been a really bad nausea day and I’m ready to cry bc I’ve just felt so bad all day. I ordered some earlier for the same reason.... $6, why not. I can’t wait for them to arrive
@blaf322 I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way as well! This time around has been a lot worse than my first 2. I am still feeling a lot better... now I’m afraid to take them off lol I will say give it a couple hours when you first try them. At first I thought they were junk 😅 I really hope they work for you as well! 🙏
@hbird0723 What brand did you order? Mine arrived yesterday and I’ve already declared them duds 😢 (Actual brand Sea Bands). Happy they’re working for you though and hope they do for @blaf322 as well. Im now realizing how good I had it first pregnancy; this all day nausea is brutal.
@pretzellover I ordered that brand as well. It took me a bit to get them in the right spot. Maybe play around a bit with them and see if it helps. Hopefully that’s all it is. Sorry you’re feeling terrible too. I will say I took them off last night because I read you should take a break so they work better during the day and I feel like throwing up this morning but this time it’s terrible reflux. I’m thinking they won’t help with that 😩
Re: *Symptoms Thread*
I don't feel like it makes me tired, but it definitely seems to help me sleep harder/better.
@hbird0723 in that case, I'd give a full pill a try tonight. Maybe take it early if you're worried it'll make you too tired?
Also, a fruit, granola parfait sounds delicious right now! Great suggestion lol
