It’s been a day here. I’ve been feeling really off all day. Headache to the max, extra tired, STARVING, and baby is all over the place! Suzy refuses to leave my side. I think she knows I’m feeling off.
@eatinwatermelonseeds wow, good riddance to that dude I guess? I mean, if he was still able to get his car in there, it really sounds like a nonissue that he inexplicably blew up into a huge issue on the last day he would ever see you all... bizarre.
@DuchessOfCambridge I will never ever pretend to know what that man goes through on a regular basis. But I don't judge people based on the color of their skin so to me that wasn't even in my head at all and I was just so caught off guard. He was just a dude being a dick. Not a black dude being a dick, to me. And I'm not going to pretend that there couldn't possibly have been a turn out like he was saying if the situation were reversed with a different couple. We wouldn't have called the police, but someone else might've. And I can't possibly say that with how irate he was that a police officer wouldn't have made it into a much bigger issue.
I guess the privilege I have is that I never would've even considered that scenario. But there was no logical reason for him to behave the way he did, it's not the first time he's done this, and in the past I have apologized and he's been rude. I was just in shock it turned into that, and even more shocked when he mentioned that. Really it's just a sad world we live in that he even had to think that.
@eatinwatermelonseeds there's another special place in hell for people who unnecessarily make others' lives difficult. Dude obviously has internal issues he's not dealing with. I feel sad for him.
I am so over this townhome community. I went back to lock up the place and as I was coming out the front I found the box that my rock n play I ordered Tuesday came in. It was open and the item was gone. It was delivered on Wednesday and I've been looking for it for days. So, someone took this, and then put it back to make sure I knew it was stolen.

@eatinwatermelonseeds was it the outside packaging of the actual rock n play, or was it just the empty box that it would have been mailed in? A while ago, DH ordered something that was poorly packaged, and initially it was late, but eventually the mailman had to deliver the empty box and explained to me that it had likely lost its contents in the sorting machinery and that there was some post office thing we could file a report with in case it turned up.
@brie_and_almonds it was the package it was shipped in, but the tape was all the way off of it, it was very obviously tampered with. It looked like they had even tried to remove the shipping label but gave up and just put it in front of my door.
I called Amazon and they're sending out a new one to our new address.
I don't know how I'm up so early, aside from a splitting headache and an aching body. But we made it through our first night in our brand new home.
I'm honestly really afraid to go back and move the rest of our stuff. I really can't predict how this dude is going to react and I'm honestly not in the mood to deal with it again.
@eatinwatermelonseeds is Amazon sending you a new one for free or did you have to pay again? Are there any cameras outside for the management to check? I would also consider filing a police report. They may never find the suspect but at least they will be more aware and may be able to link a future crime to this one.
@expandcontract it's free. He originally was going to refund me and have me order a new one and I explained that the one I bought was greatly discounted a few days ago and now it's $30 more and he said "oh. I'll just send a replacement then." It was very nice, I'm extremely grateful. There aren't any cameras that show my door. We have one in the back where our cars are parked, because people like to piss on things (H's old boat), and let air out of tires, and steal shit. But the annoying thing about this is the post office almost always brings every package to the front office. If it's not in the office, they bring it through our back gate (where our camera is). But for some reason they didn't this time. I've just left the box out there, and it looks like it was rummaged through again 🙄 I'm just done. Getting as much shit out of here today as humanly possible and only coming back to clean.
I thanked the ladies at the front office, because this place has honestly been the reason we are where we are. It's cheap, but it's not terrible inside, it's liveable. It got us through H getting out of the army, us filing bankruptcy, working on degrees, having very very little money to get by. It was affordable when we couldn't afford much. Now I have a degree, H is almost done his and working for the company he likely will when he graduates, just got a raise. We're having a second baby. We just bought our own home. I remember talking to the ladies at the front office when I applied to a nursing program the first time and how devastated I was when I didn't get in. And now I have a license. I don't know. We've been through a lot of shit with this community and getting shit stolen and it's been rough. But without this place, we wouldn't be where we are.
Lol sorry, had a sappy moment. It's just crazy to think where we are vs where we've been. When H discharged, we were terrified and had no idea what our lives would look like. It's been a LONG 3.5 years. But WOW look where we are. My mind is still blown and I can't believe it.

You guys HAVE been through a lot the last few years. But look at your hard work finally paying off! I hope and pray that things continue to get better for you. You should be proud of yourselves!
I feel like I’ve been totally MIA this weekend! Friday night, DH and I had a date night with dinner and a movie. We went and saw Instant Family, which totally made me cry but it was amazing! Yesterday the in-laws came into town to help with a few things. We hung the ceiling fan in the nursery, took down the satellite dish that the previous owner left, and went to lunch with them and DH’s brother and wife. Today, we went to my nephew’s hockey game, went and looked at two houses with my sister, and went out to lunch for my nephews birthday. We hung up Christmas lights, organized the baby’s book shelf, and I went through all of my baby stuff to see what we could realistically use for this baby, which isn’t much! I’m exhausted and starving but don’t want to get up to make anything!
My whole day revolved around getting ready for our family photos, and then DS cried during the whole thing. I don't know if she get anything remotely good but we'll try again if not. I'm bummed, though, I'd been looking forward to it for a while.
Hey all.. I've definitely been MIA today and a lot of yesterday. We're renovating our bathroom and yesterday afternoon and today was Schluter day (that is the waterproofing system for a shower that will be tiled). We did all the prep work yesterday but then realized we still had prepare the shower floor today before we could start applying the thinset mortar to attach the waterproofing membrane. Today just really kicked my ass. I totally underestimated how much this LO did not want to be doing construction work. I almost passed out once or twice and almost puked at one point, too. But it had to get done and there's a limited time to work the mortar. Sorry for the bitching! I'm so tired. I figure it's training, right?
We're still not done moving 😩 I didn't realize you could fit so much shit into a 2 bedroom townhouse 😭 and we have thrown away A LOT. I'm exhausted. BUT H forgot his freaking cell phone at the townhouse, so I have to go back and get it. We have a recliner, a chest of drawers, couple suitcases, a tv and H's entire workshop in the garage left to move. I'm just. WHO CREATES AN INTRICATE WORKSHOP IN A TEMPORARY LIVING SITUATION?! I told him this from the very get-go and now we're having to extend this move to two weekends 😡 whatever. Important stuff is moved. Could probably go back without a moving truck for the TV and recliner (which comes apart). Chest of drawers could use just a pick up or something. Anyway. Tomorrow I have an ob appointment but otherwise plan to chill and unpack our new home ♥️♥️♥️ will go back some time this week to clean. It's disgusting.
Thank you @expandcontract! I was drinking lots of water and DH was great about taking over when I needed a rest. We just didn't.thinknit would take so freaking long! The video from the many makes it seem like it will take you an hour or so. We were working on it from about 4:30 to about 10pm and finally called it quits I was saying how you could tell this is a male dominated field since the how to video doesn't actually show you much on the ins and outs and the reality of the work! Luckily it's almost all behind us. Now onto tiling this weekend.
