@die_frau ha I felt like that a few weeks ago for sure. How far along are you? I'm now at 11W+2 and I feel like my energy is coming back. Just a couple of weeks ago I would just find myself waking up like 1-2 hours later and not realizing I ever fell asleep in the first place. Now I don't feel so tempted to sleep. However, I agree that the cold weather makes you feel even more like snuggling up and taking a nap.
yes.... I am SO TIRED. I feel like I'm dying for the first few hours of the day! Once I get up and going, its not as terrible. But from wake up to arriving at work feels like pulling teeth.
DH has asked me to cut out all my caffeine since I have been having issues **TW** bleeding with my SCH **TW** I actually haven't done too bad today but I have also just been laying around.
I think the decaf coffee I had this morning did the job as a placebo.
@messymyranda you sound exactly like me. Last time my doctor said if I ever had a third to come at first contraction or I would give birth in the car. I think I’m just going to hang out in the hospital parking lot starting at like 36 weeks.
@marijaa333 yes, I’m in the bay so it’s the Camp fire that’s killing me. You can check air quality on the EPA website though. The maps are color coded and the numbers will tell you how bad it is in each area. Ours is slowly improving, but is still not good.
You guys...I don't know what's gotten into me today, but in a single morning I've gotten done what would have taken me a full day to do last week. I almost don't even want to stop for lunch (and it's 1:15 my time). AND I got up before 5 this morning for pilates, didn't start work until my usual time, and yet my productivity is back to what it was pre-BFP for the first time. I don't know what's happening and don't mean this as a humblebrag or whatever -- but this feels GREAT. Light at the end of the tunnel?
@TJtheGoat Thanks! I really hope it's contained soon and you get some good winds to clear the air.
@ki1244 that was me on Sunday as well as Monday morning. That was not me yesterday and today. YMMV. But it's sure nice to get a break from the exhaustion and get something done!
@sparklingdiamond that's one thing I don't stress over too much. Lunch meat is okay if it comes from a sealed package. At a place like Jersey Mike's they have pretty stringent health safety rules so that no one is at risk of contracting Listeria. Its totally fine to eat a cold deli sandwich every now and then.
Has anyone attended a "Biggest Baby Shower Ever" event (by Big City moms)? It popped up on my Facebook and is happening near us next month so I was curious if anyone had attended one and if they thought it was worth it.
Any of you that have been on progesterone, when did you come off? I wasn't on it with my son and I am pretty sure with my daughter it was 12 weeks. I asked my RE today and he said I can come off it in 5 days, which would be 10 weeks. That seems a little early to me?
@sparklingdiamond I was on progesterone with my first pregnancy (DS). I stopped about 12 weeks. I was also put on it this pregnancy. I called the doctor around 10 weeks to ask if I needed to refill it or if I could stop (it was a $150 copay so I wanted to be sure I needed it and all of it!). I had enough for a few days and my OB said I didn’t have to refill it. I stopped at about 10.5 weeks. I’m 11 weeks today.

I'm 8 weeks -- hopefully I'll get some energy over the next few weeks! The cold weather definitely doesn't help.
Just read the online excerpt they have for Expecting Better. THAT WOMAN LIVES IN MY HEAD. Even this morning, after reading that, I was looking at the little Bump articles differently -- i.e. if there's no research on a given thing, or what exists produced mixed results, it seems very infantilizing to immediately go to "you should avoid it" instead of critically thinking about why there is no research on it or what the nuances are in the mixed results. Ordering a copy of it today! Thank you for the suggestions on it!
Got back from my work trip from sunny San Diego and today it snowed. I'm not ready for the cold. Last night and today I tried to use my doppler and couldn't find baby. I know it's still not very easy right now and I'm not a professional, now to not let it get in my head. I was able to last week at 10w3d and now I'm 11w1d.
Oh no I can't watch Dumbo at all and won't be watching the new one. The other made me cry. Elephants are my favorite. I read water for elephants but couldn't watch the movie.
I have no idea why Disney chose that one for their next live-action, but the trailer alone is a sobfest. His little sneeze that makes him fly for the first time made me weepy. When Baby Mine started and he gets separated from his mom, I was full-on wailing. There is not a chance in heaven or hell I will be watching the actual movie if two minutes had me crying like that.
In less sad news, DH's team not only won their game last night, they did so in decisive enough fashion that all the "take your ticket to XYZ place for free ABC food!" deals are on today. Sooooo I will be running around town like a plus-sized pokemon game collecting fast food items for the weekend (have two sandwiches and a burger coming my way today) and I'm not even a little ashamed of it.
@ki1244, @amaren-2, and @sparklingdiamond I don't think I've actually ever watched Dumbo. Which is weird because I'm pretty sure I've seen like every other Disney movie. Maybe I'll watch this trailer and see if it's something I can handle.
@whitney812 that's excellent. I'm contemplating a third helping of the lasagna my mom made while visiting this week, and that's for lunch, not dinner...
Can I just have cake for lunch? It's all that sounds appealing.
Also how hard is it to spell my name right? It's Sarah with an H. Not without. It's literally in my work email address and in my signature yet a MAJORITY of people don't put the H on there. I never type someone's name out without double checking how it's spelled!
@sparklingdiamond lol i am shelley ... with 2 Es not one and i constantly have emails start with Hi shelly even though its right in my email! I have Sarahs and Saras in my life and I know they feel your pain!
I feel you ladies with the name spelling. Mine's spelled the original, Gaelic way and now they have 197258865.25 different ways of spelling it and it DRIVES ME INSANE. I lose my mind when people say, "Oh, that's a weird way of spelling it!"
Also, re: progesterone. I'm on it too, and am happy to hear that the light at the end of the tunnel is approaching. My OB has me taking it vaginally and its just.....gross. It gets all over everything and it puts a damper on sexytime.
Re: name - not quite spelling but pronunciation, I worked with many colleagues from Asia and South America and I can’t tell you the amount of time when we finally had a phone conversation they were genuinely surprise i was female because they believed my name to be a mans name. I had fun with that
My dog somehow got into something toxic and I had to leave him at the vet. They aren’t worried and are giving him fluids to help flush his system but I am besides myself. There has been no change in food, environment or anything else I can think of. I let him out to go potty and when I went to let him in a 10 minutes later he had collapsed and couldn’t walk. I bottle fed this good boy, i feel like I failed him.
Why won't the nurse ever call me back? I always have to call multiple times and then the front desk to tell them she hasn't called me back. It is so infuriating. I just want to know where I'm suppose to go for my US tomorrow.
We had our thanksgiving meal for lunch today at work. My work provides a free meal to everyone today. It is pretty good and you can have carrot cake or pumpkin pie for dessert. The piece of carrot cake I got was half the size of everyone else's and I was irrationally sad about it. I wanted a big piece too. It was so good though.
Am I the only one still suffering from food aversions? I have zero appetite for anything. Nothing sounds good and I just make a decision to eat whatever is the least unappealing and hope I can get it down. I normally have a huge sweet tooth but they don't sound good at all.
@emeraldcity603 That was me with DS. I didn't like anything except for cereal, and I couldn't stomach any meat at all. This time is completely different, though!

@emeraldcity603 I'm dealing with that too. Sometimes something will sound good and I'll eat a few bites and then am like nope and have to throw it away

I feel like it's been quiet around here lately.
