@mommythlegend Another for what jens_hoes said. Find a place you can lay down for a little bit. Babies tend to fall asleep and not move too much while your moving around because of the rocking sensation and wake up when you’re still (or so I’ve read). Plus you’re not noticing movement as much when you’re up and busy. I would give it a little bit, like at least 30 minutes. Baby might just be resting! I think my doc has said 10 kicks within several hours is good (I forget exactly) but she hasn’t had me start kick counts yet.
@mommythlegend I had a bit of the same Saturday, and was nervous, but I sat down right before bed and felt her. Was probably between 5pm-11pm I felt almost nothing. Baby may also have shifted position so kicks are less noticeable. I think that may be what happened to me because I'm feeling them less pronounced and in a different place than usual. If you're really worried, contact your OB and maybe they'll get you in for a doppler.
I asked my Dr if I should be doing kick counts & how often at my appt Fri. He said whenever I haven't felt her in a few hours- but that happens all the time! Sometimes she'll move in the a.m. then not all day til bedtime. He told me to eat sugar/caffeine and lay down for 2hrs, if I don't have 10 kicks after 2hrs, go to the hospital for monitoring. Problem is, I don't often have 2hrs straight to lay down. Luckily baby has been giving me just barely enough right when I'm about to flip out. lol
I set an alarm on my phone for 7 pm every day. I'm a bit of a couch potato so by 7 pm I'm almost always sitting down and getting lots of movement from little dude. I use the BabyCenter app and track how long it takes for him to move 10 times. I swear he moves a ton from 6:30-6:58 and then decides to stop. Little stinker.
