Quickening?

Re: Quickening?

  • @PensiveCrayon that's scary since my son is already an energizer bunny  :D I guess it could have still been Baby, I had phantom kicks after DS even up until I got pregnant with this kid, the only difference is these were super low where baby is, not higher up like normal. So maybe! Hoping in another week or two they'll be stronger!

  • @binxybaby Yay!  That is awesome.  You must have a strong little guy in there.  I'm over 15 weeks and am not sure I've felt the baby yet, but am hoping to soon.

  • I'm afraid I have an anterior placenta again, because I really haven't been feeling much of anything movement-wise. Grump.

  • @PensiveCrayon I haven't really felt any either if that makes you feel better!
  • @binxybaby
That's awesome! I just felt a tightening of the muscles around the uterus this morning, which I think might be the start of BraxtonHicks, so I got that going for me  :|

  • I think I've felt him him knocking around in there right under my belly button. That's where we found his heart beat today, so it pretty much confirmes that's what I'm feeling!

  • @texas_t That’s interesting! I did think I felt a few movements up there yesterday but I figured it was too high up. Well, who knows? :)

  • DH thinks he felt baby move last night. Confirmed he’s feeling the same flutters I am, and we got a few more solid kick-ish movements too. So reassuring to have him tell me I’m not crazy (even if maybe we’re both just crazy together).

  • @PensiveCrayon I'm thinking I may have an anterior placenta again, too. I didn't feel DS until 22 weeks!! I don't want to wait that long again!!

@runrinserepeat that's awesome that DH could feel too! It took forever for MH to feel DS!

  • Nothing yet here. This is the point last one where I get DS, but he was measuring bigger and she’s measuring smaller. Not sure if that will even make a difference, but I’ll just be here waiting.......

  • I wonder if it's the calcium supplements I'm taking lol. Baby's probably a mini-Thor in there. Apparently, both my husband and I were strong kickers in utero so I wonder if it's just a genetic thing.

  • Has anyone felt quite a bit of movement and then had it stop? I’m only 16 weeks but it’s totally freaking me out because last week I thought I was feeling my little one quite a lot!
  • @sterjacks21
I don't think it's anything to worry about this early on - you could probably ask a medical professional when you "should" feel them regularly, but at this point they are still quite small.. I mean, I thought I felt something yesterday and I choose to think that it was baby - but it still could have been gas! And consistent gas is possible as well.. So I certainly wouldn't worry about it.

  • i think i felt it? I might have felt it? Maybe not..... lol i think every belly twitch of any kind is the baby at this point.

I have definitely felt LO, and earlier than I had with the first two.  It's lower than I expected, like waistband and below, so I probably just wasn't good at finding the movement with the other kids.  It's not kicks, but I can feel the movement below my hand.
there are two motivations in sports, which is yours?
  • @sterjacks21 I think it is third tri where you are at a point you should feel movement enough that you should start counting kicks (something your doc will tell you about when the time comes). Right now baby is still quite small and has lots of room to move. It may just be that s/he moved to a different spot where you can’t feel it. I wouldn’t worry!

  • LOL @binxybaby DH spends the whole night with his hand on my gut, trying to feel baby. He's constantly moving my hand so he can feel instead.

  • Ha that’s so funny. I definitely couldn’t feel my son on the outside for a long time after I felt him on the inside. But I guess @coybig refuted that?

@agk2015- you're right, and that movement is why I'm on this board :D:D

  • 13 weeks today and in the past week a couple times I’ve (maybe) felt some fluttery bumps inside. Last time I think I was about 17 weeks before I really felt anything but I had no idea what I was “feeling” for then.
  • @binxybaby Ha! My mom gave me a regular stethoscope (she was in the medical field before she retired) and told me I could hear the baby's heartbeat with it. I keep trying, but I know that I probably won't be able to hear the heartbeat through that until about 20 weeks.
    BabyFetus Ticker
  • @omnommer I don't know why this makes me giggle but I can just imagine you hunched over saying "shhhh" to your spouse while trying to find the heartbeat  :D

  • @texas_t Hahaha! It's more like him trying it and me giggling and him telling me to stop laughing, and then I laugh even harder.  :D

  • @omnommer That's a thing?? Excuse me as I buy a stethoscope
    Pregnancy TickerSaveSave
  • @binxybaby Haha! Apparently it is! The dopplers are expensive, but you can get a heartbeat earlier than 20 weeks. With a cheap-o stethoscope, you should be able to hear heartbeat by 20 weeks. It's apparently best if you can locate the baby's back which will be a hard flat surface. (by 20 weeks are they big enough to feel like that from the outside? lol). Then put the stethoscope where that is. I did my research after my mom gave me her old one.

  • Some days I think I feel something... Then other days I don't. So then I convince myself that what I thought I felt was nothing lol
  • Same @Selina1313! But I’m pretty sure I felt a nice ute bump last night.

  • @PensiveCrayon it's a little frustrating being between symptoms and actually feeling baby move lol
Some days I forget I'm pregnant until I try to get dressed and nothing fits lol
  • I was laying in bed last night and am pretty sure I felt little girl doing a dance party. In about 10 minutes, I think I felt 3 different little "taps" inside my lower belly area. When I have gas it's usually a more extended feeling than a single or double tap, which is why I think it might have been baby girl. :)

  • I can feel this bub moving and pretty sure he/she is lying transverse (which makes me think it's a girl because both my girls were the same way and boy was different.  I feel the movement and what I think is the body sloping upward away from what I assume are the feet.

Bummed to be in the anterior placenta club again this time around.  I didn't feel movement last time until about 30 weeks, and even then it was consistently pretty faint.  All I've felt so far is what I suspect is some serious RLP when I sneeze - ouch!
