I got my BFP 8/26, and am due May 7. This is my 4th pregnancy, and 3rd child. I am 32, I have a wonderful DH who is 35, and we've been married 5 years. I have 2 DDs: Nov14 and Sept16. I was semi active on my Nov14 BMB, before all "hell broke loose" in January 2015.
???? Do tell??? What happened Jan 15? I'm new to TB, but some moms filled us in on the June14 board (I think) and we all read that craziness on a different thread. Is there a link for this one too?
Hi ladies! Congratulations!! I am so excited to be joining you. I have two daughters, 5 & 3, and just found out that we are expecting again. Due May 28. We are over the moon, but also starting to feel a little nervous. It feels like forever since I've done this, and to top it all off, about a week before I found about this little bean DH had a meeting about a potential position overseas. We would all go, and it would be so exciting, but the idea of trying to navigate a foreign country and language, a foreign school system and everything else, all while adjusting to a newborn is giving me a lot of anxiety right now. But there's no point in stressing before we even get the contract, so I'm trying to do my best to just take it one day at a time.
Fingers crossed for a H&H 9 months for everyone. I look forward to getting to know all you gals.
Pregnant with my first over here. I think I'm 6 + 3. I'm thinking my due date is around May 8 or 12 (suspecting delayed ovulation). I live in Canada with my husband and our mastiff-dog Sheba. I'm 26, DH is 32. Our age gap works perfectly for us! We were NOT trying to have children, and I got off HBC to help lose some fat as I was doing testing to become a police officer and wanted my hormones working properly as I tried to gain more muscle and lose fat. One or two condom malfunctions later...and voila!
The shock was an adjustment and we had to talk it out. We've had a rough summer with losing 2 friends to cancer and an accident. So we are trying to look at this as (hopefully) a happy event to come out of a sad summer. My first ultrasound is next week on Sept 24. Spinal muscular atrophy runs in DH's family and we want to test for it. So they are sending us for a dating ultrasound to start the process. Hoping little bean is ok!
Hi everyone! I am so excited to be here and I am still in shock and disbelief that this is finally happening. Fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly. My name is Laurie and my estimated due date for now is May 30th. (It is different on different apps so I am a bit confused but it is somewhere in the last few days of May?) This is my first pregnancy and I am 30 years old. My husband and I have been married for almost 6 years now and couldn't be happier to start our family. I am currently 4 weeks and 2 days and our baby is the size of a poppyseed.
So excited to meet all of you. Pregant with my first, so all of this is new to me. (Thank goodness for these forums) Our due date is somewhere around May 10. I'm 29 and DH is 34. We are very excited but also nervous. Being first time parents, I'm sure everything will be a bit of a learning curve.
We're get married this Saturday, so it's so exciting to know that we've already got a little family on the way! We have a one year old golden retriever. Her name is Kona.
My first ultrasound is this morning and I can't wait to see what's going on in there with our little peanut!
You know, it’s clunky but if you want anything like video chat, you could always post a video to YouTube and link to it here. I’m sorry but that’s the best The Bump can do.
@purplejoymommy - I was present on these boards when "all hell broke loose" too. It was right at the end of my pregnancy. Basically what happened is, in years past, the mods used to be regular posters. They weren't paid employees of The Bump. The Bump had a reputation for snark and (sometimes vicious) flaming because it wasn't moderated by "professionals" but rather other women who were either TTC or parenting. It was understood you participated at your own risk. Sometimes those flame threads would go on for 8 or 9 pages. As a lover of a good hot mess, that was an excellent distraction during the long, frustrating days I was TTC through IUI. The Bump shut all that down and now we have to behave or we get warnings. And flame threads are shut down after 3 or 4 replies. Sometimes they're deleted but that's pretty rare because it usually doesn't go that far.
I still like The Bump, though, because it's easier to find community here vs. Baby Center or WTE. It kind of feels like shouting into the void on those sites. You see a poster once and then you never see them again. At least here we all congregate and get to know each other. I miss the super-snark of days past but I understand why they changed it to what it is now.
Hi All! My name is Emily and we live in NJ (though I'm from RI originally). I'm a former teacher turned SAHM. I have a DD who is 4.5 and DS who is 2. I was more active on the Dec 2013 with my DD than with my son in June 2016. DH and I were shocked to find out last night that we will be a party of 5 come the end of May! Looks like May 25th is the due date, but we will know more after my first appointment on 10/10. Wishing everyone a healthy and happy pregnancy. I am in SHOCK that this is happening. It's about to get crazy!
Thanks, @wishiwaspreggo for the clarification. I wasn't exactly sure what happened, but I knew a ton of regulars were getting banned, so they went and formed a new forum. It was crickets here for awhile.
Hello! STM here, have been lurking for a few weeks and finally decided to jump in with an introduction. I'm 32, married with a 6 year old son. It took my husband and I a long time to finally decide we wanted a 2nd.. and now here we are. EDD 5/14. I have my first ultrasound scheduled for 10/3 so looking forward to that!

@caremel225 Why do you have your mom's passport app? What's your MOS in the Army?
Eta: This is really hard to keep up. I think it would be very helpful if you could youtube and tell us your story.

Hi everyone! I'm due 5/6 with my third LO. This baby was a big surprise but we're so excited now that we've had some time to process the news! We had our first ultrasound this week, and although they measured baby smaller (putting my due date later than I expected), everything looked great & baby had a healthy heartbeat! I can't wait until I'm far enough along to tell my son (7) and daughter (4), who has wanted to be the "big sister" forever! Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Hi everyone, second time momma, JUST found out we're expecting for May 25th. Was in shock. Took us several months of trying for our first, this was a celebration "we're going to start trying to have another baby" romp, and there you go. We're thrilled by the news, although in a HUGE amount of shock. Loved this group when expecting our first DD, excited to share this journey with you all.
Hi all, FTM here! My EDD is 5/20/19 and I'm 5w+5d today. DH is 33 and I'm 31. We are so excited and have no clue what to expect so very thankful for these threads and having community! First OB appt is 10/1 and meeting with birthing center on 10/7. Covering all bases to see what we feel most comfortable with 😊 nice to meet y'all! Here's to a H&H 9 months!
Hey all, I'm at the end of this group! Expecting baby #3 May 30th. I was really active for DD1 on the December 13 board, and for DD2 in April 16. I'm still very close with a smaller group of A16, have had the pleasure of meeting up with several! I tested yesterday with a Wal-Mart cheapie that was negative at 3 minutes and I immediately threw it away. On a whim I checked the trash when I went home from lunch and it was very clearly positive...but obviously I didn't trust it until I retested today and it was definitely positive!
Despite having been through this twice before, it's a whole different ball game this time as we just moved 1200 miles 6 weeks ago! So a new OB and we live near family this time! I'm so excited for the former, but Monday starts the search for a new midwife...
@imrachellea I remember you from April 16! My username was different then. I was pretty active on TB, but didn't make the jump to FB with everyone else. Glad to see you here!
Hello all! I am 4 + 4 with my first and my wife and I are very excited! Found out almost a week ago and edd is may 27. I haven't had anything other than blood work but they say everything looks good. I have no idea what I am getting myself into so wanted to introduce myself before I start asking too many questions! Looking forward to getting to know folks.
My name is Jen! I'm a FTM and this is my first pregnancy. Hubby and I were so surprised but excited to get our BFP yesterday. I'm 4w + 4d. My EDD is 5/28/19. I live in Seattle and am close to family which is feels like such a blessing.
I'm headed to my first appointment on Monday to have a beta and check that everything is progressing as intended. I'm so excited to start this journey
Hi everyone! My name is Cassie, and I'm SO excited to be joining y'all!!! This is my fourth pregnancy. The hubs and I had been trying for over two years to have a baby, but the past three beans didn't stick, with my most recent MC in April. We gave up trying after my father passed in June, and we only BD'd once this cycle during my fertile window. Once is all you need, I guess!!!
Anyway, we live in New Smyrna Beach, FL, and I'm a bartender at a super cool craft cocktail bar in town. If any of you have suggestions for dealing with pregnancy while slinging drinks and babysitting drunks, let me know!!!
Hello everyone! I'm Heather. I'm 32 years old and from Atlanta, Ga, USA. I am 6 weeks along with my second pregnancy. I already have one 21 month old son. I will be happy with any number of healthy babies, but I am praying for twins in this pregnancy! We want a big family and I'd like to be done making babies by 34 or 35. Nice to meet you all!
@owensmamabear I also live in Georgia, and my son just turned 2! Do twins run in your family? My SIL and best friend both have twin boys! Fingers crossed for you, and welcome!
Hey ladies! I’m so excited to join this group and begin getting to know you all!
A bit about our very brief journey: IUD removed 8/24 - which was CD2. the doctor’s parting words to me were “well, you’re fertile now!”
A week later we went on my husbands 40th birthday trip to Italy and knew it was a possibility to come back KU so we tried to get the ❤️ done and used an OPK to help.
BFP Thursday at 13DPO - that’s the first and only test I took. Indicator showed within 10 seconds. We’ve spent the last few days soaking it in and telling our parents.
EDD is May 30 and first appointment is in a few weeks.
