May 2018 - FET

Re: May 2018 - FET

  • I don’t envy you ladies in the TWW. Honestly, every stage of this game is pretty excruciating. After one checkpoint comes another hurdle.

@roisis yeah this month has been all over the place for many of us. We understand if you cave and POAS, haha. In terms of symptoms, I’m really having to retrain my brain over here. I have significantly less symptoms over here compared to the first BFP.  that had been initially disconcerting, but im trying to remind myself that I still had a rising beta in the absence of intense symptoms. That realization has helped bring me some peace of mind and allowed me to relax a little. I guess the other consolation was for me to think that if transfer failed, I still had future transfer opportunities. We’re waiting with bated breath for you!!

@mayflower513 the doc wants me to come in for beta #4 next Tuesday. It will be 5w4d at that point. My PG calendar then has me booked for 7w and 9w u/s. My newest concern is that bc I likely had late implantation that growth will be behind. It’s always something, right? :/ good luck with beta today! Your numbers are already so high, I feel hopeful for you!

  • @northbeach3 I hear you.  I told the nurse this morning that I was super nervous for beta results, and how I’ll then be nervous for the ultrasound, and so on and so on!  She said you’ll be that way the whole time and advised me to find a distraction.  Working on it!!  Yay for everything already booked though, one less thing to worry/wonder about!  Im hoping when I get #s today, god willing they’re good, my US is booked in the next couple of weeks... like at 6w0d.  Wishful thinking I’m sure, lol!  And thank you

@roisis - that's a great advice! I'm going to try that as much as I can.
    TW kids -
Since I have kids, I always have things planned for them for weeks in advance, but for myself I can do 2-3 days at a time.
I'm also going to avoid POAS, at least until my first beta. I agree that the result won't be reliable so I'm not going to do it. Knowing myself it will only frustrate me and add to the uncertainty.
I understand the need to test and I understand every single woman who chooses to POAS! I just

    @mlhnj23 - GL!!

@ASabelko - so happy we share beta date! Keeping my FX for both of us!

Wishing sticking beans for all tww!! Good luck and hang in there!

    Update:
Here’s my update for beta #3 @ 14dpt 259. It doubled in the last 2 days but we are still cautious as I’m now on watch for possible signs for ectopic. I’m glad that it double but also can’t let myself be excited. :|

We are praying that at least one embaby is still fighting to stick and we are taking all prayers! Next beta will be on Tuesday and if this time is anything like last years MC then I’m also expecting AF to breakthrough the suppositories and rears it’s ugly face on that day as well. Fx!

  • Good luck @mrsyng!  Note to you below..*TW kids*:

When I had my successful cycle (8 yrs ago)...my first three betas did not get anywhere close to doubling, and that was a healthy twin pregnancy.  You are still in for sure! FX for you!
  • I’m with you in the cautiously optimistic stage, @mrsyng! Hopeful that you did see doubling from beta 2 to 3. Fx for continued riseand no ectopic! My beta 4 will be Monday.

@roisis I’m one day behind you in TWW and just want to say good for you, for not testing and having that amazing attitude! I wish I had your will power, I caved this morning and regret it - as it just got me even more confused. So hold out a couple more days you’ve made it this long, you can do it! My beta is Monday too so hoping this weekend flies by quickly for us both!! Xx

@mrsyng Oh (cautious) yay! I don't know what else to say except hang in there - I'm delighted you got better news but I can completely understand still being nervous. We're all rooting for you <3<3

Thanks @leilee101 <3 I can completely understand giving in to the tests! I actually bought tests last night, so this morning was a real test of willpower. If you wish to share the results of your test feel free - but I won't pry! Best of luck with your results - what day is your Beta?

I had planned on being out of town today/tomorrow as we were going to visit DH's step-mum who had open-heart surgery a couple of weeks ago. But I have come down with a bad head-cold (crappy timing!!). So I really don't think it's safe for me to go see her - I'd never forgive myself if I hampered her recovery. But selfishly - that was going to keep me distracted for a few days!!! We're planning a mega-walk up the mountains now and I might call in all favours to go meet friends for coffee. Also I've made the decision to test tomorrow (Day 10) and then I'll test again on Tuesday (Day 12 - Beta day). I think the difference between the 2 should give me the best home result I can get.

    GL everyone <3<3

@mayflower513 Head cold is a good sign - really? I've never heard that before - thank you :) I had almost given up on this transfer for some reason but in the last day or so I've been more optimistic, I'm pretty tired and I'm off my food a bit - so - it might have worked... There's no reason why it shouldn't work! Ugh - I just keep flip-flopping!! I guess I'll have a better idea tomorrow.

  • @roisis yup!  It can either be the hormones causing congestion or it can be the hormones weakening your immune system for an actual cold.  That all sounds positive!!

For those of you having cold/flu symptoms -
When pregnant, your body suppresses your immune system to ensure a successful pregnancy. The embryo is "a foreign body" inside your body and to ensure your tissues accept the developing embryo, your immune system has to be weaker than it is on any regular day. Our bodies are AMAZING like that! So even though it's annoying, I hope you take it as a good sign  ;)
    TW successful FET -

The one and only time I was pregnant (and forever grateful I have my boys to encourage me through this second journey) at about week 4-5 I got the flu. Full blown, fever and everything. I was miserable as all hell, but I took it as a good sign! I hope it is a good sign for you too!!

  • Congratulations @roisis   you said it’s 10dp5dt, right?

@roisis YAY!! Keeping my FX for a smooth sale for you!

AFM, I'm not having a good day. The headaches, cramps and frequesnt urination can all be attributed to the progesterone so my brain keeps bouncing between over-analyzing and reminding myself not to read into the physical symptoms.
My butt hurts from the PIO shots - yesterday I think I injected too close to something and now half my butt hurts and today my husband went through a vein  :s
And my lower back is killing me from sleeping sideways.
I'm not having a good day and I could use some encouragement  :'(

How is everyone else doing? I hope you're having a good weekend  <3

    Thanks everyone :)
    @mayflower513 Yes that was 10dp5dt

@northbeach3 I used Clearblue early detection. I was tempted to go with a digi, but it occurred to me that while it might not be as clear, you get more info out of a 'line' test - as you can judge how dark the line is. Yeah - tomorrow is big for a few of us
Also I see @kristimh80 you're in for an appointment tomorrow too - can I ask what stage  you're up to at the moment?

@leilee101 Best of luck at Beta today!! I'm going in for Beta tomorrow - it's another Bank holiday here today - otherwise I think I would have been in today. FX for you.

@more14 I'm so sorry you're not doing so well right now. This is just such a tough process. I managed to avoid the PIO shots so I can't offer any advice - but they do sound quite horrific at times so my sympathy goes out to you. We know how tough this is, I guess all we can say is that hopefully it's all worth it, and I know that's really crummy. But know this: you are an amazing person to get this far and you should know that this is not easy and you should be very proud of yourself. It's just a few more days. You can do this <3

    Hello ladies,
i just came across this amazing group with such supportive ladies while I was searching for 6dp 5dt transfer. I had my ET on 5/29
Just to give a brief history,  I had my first one 4 years ago which resulted in my almost 4yr old now and for which I'm forever grateful!
We only had one embryo left and tried it. I'm really hoping for a BFP. If not, then this is it for us.
I am 6dp  5dt. I have been having mild cramps from day 1. Today it feels more AF symptoms. I took a FRER this morning which was a negative. Obviously it's still pretty early to test. The TWW is making one miserable. I will be testing again tomorrow but a part of me tells me not to until atleast 9dp. I go for my first beta 6/12. I'm really hoping for a positive.
  • welcome @aidoo! the TWW is the worst and those freaking pee sticks can drive you mad!  6/12 seems like an eternity away, so best of luck hanging in there until then.  we're rooting for your BFP, please keep us updated.

@roisis @northbeach3 thank you for your kind words! I truly appreciate the support.

@kristimh80 How are you doing after your ERA? FX you get some answers and a better timeline for your next round!

@aidoo welcome! TWW is such a mental and physical roller coaster, it's really the worse. FX you get your BFP!

AFM, I did what @roisis suggested and planned just two days a head. I filled my days, kept myself as busy as I could and that helped a lot. I even managed to avoid buying a HPT today when I was at the grocery store! I was so proud of myself :D
Counting down the days to my beta and hoping to see good news coming for everyone here.
  • Good luck with betas today @roisis (and YEA!! for a darkening line!) @northbeach3 @mrsyng !!

Good luck with your ERA @kristimh80!

  • Thanks ladies! <3

@roisis It'll take a week or two to get results back. I found out about the ERA by a girl on YouTube talking about it and how she swears was the only reason her FET ever worked because her implantation window was always off. Then started googling everything! :)

  • @northbeach3 It wasn't! She had me cough during both biopsies so it helped a ton having that distraction. The 2nd time I definitely felt the pain, but it was over in 2 seconds!

Thanks ladies. I’m cautiously optimistic and really hoping for a good 4th beta and to not be too bummed out later. I just had my blood drawn and will know in the afternoon.

Good luck today @roisis & @northbeach3 - hopefully they will call you today with results or at least before you leave for your trip!! Fx!

Waited all day hoping to get good or bad news for beta so I can move forward. I called my nurse twice and she said she’s been updating the lab portal all day to get my results without success. I finally called the lab just now to check on the status and apparently it’s still pending; even though, I had it drawn at 7:40am PST. Typically, my blood would have been processed and completed but I guess every once in a while there is a delay. Just my luck.

what’s another day of waiting going to do, right!? *rolls eyes*

I’m still waiting too. They took my blood at 3:50 pst. She said she’d call within the hour but we’ll see. I figured they wouldn’t call until tomorrow morning.

ETA: any word @roisis? I imagine it’s well into night there! ;)

Hi ladies - didn't get a chance to update last night. So yes, my nurse called in with my Beta result -

It's 94. So according to my clinic that's it - 'Congratulations - now come back in 3 weeks for your 7 week scan.' Maybe it's just that I've been hanging out here so much - but I expected more. I did ask her shouldn't I come in again in 2 days and she said no that's 'a high Beta so just go and relax'. I love my clinic in every aspect except this one! They seemed to feel that because I got the positive home-test, the blood was a mere formality. But I'm not going to badger them into giving me more tests. I may just continue to take those digi tests that tell you how many weeks you are, for peace of mind.
    So I guess that's it - I'm pregnant :)
I'm going to go see my GP and make an appointment with an obstetrician next. Doesn't really feel real....

@mrsyng I would have thought that having it drawn so early would have guaranteed a result within the day - that's so frustrating. GL in your result today <3

@northbeach3 Ugh so annoying expecting a result but getting not getting it!! Will you be able to take the call today? Enjoy the conference - where are you off to? I booked flights to go to Spain for a conference at the end of June - I was waiting for results to see if I wanted DH to come with me :)
