Busted out my maternity shorts this weekend and forgot just how terribly they fit. Such a baggy butt. Even my mom mad fun of my saggy bottom. I tried three different brands/styles with DS and these were the least horrible I found. Maybe I’ll have better luck this year? Anyone found any good side panel denim shorts for little people? I think Old Navy is my next stop since they at least come in numbered sizes, not just S/M/L.
I know other pregnant women typically don't follow the "dress code" as strict...so I could probably figure out a way to make it work. Or just not care and use the pregnancy excuse
@jemmerjams - I agree with adding a cardigan, blazer or wrap to the top of a maxi dress for business casual.
That said- my office starts at jeans and dresses up for days clients are in the office. My previous firm started with suits, and dressed down on Fridays- so the look may or may not have worked there (business casual was mostly removing neck ties and skipping blazers).
@tinattt23 our Target had some cute shorts in with their new summer stuff this week. Not sure if you tried there this year but maybe they’d have something (and lots of their maternity shorts/pants are numbers, not s/m/l)
I just bought a maternity blazer, we shall see if it fits! I think my old one is gonna be a bit snug and awkward since it hits kinda short lol.
Our dress code isn't super strict (biz casual for me is usually a sweater/blouse and dress pants, and button down/pants sans tie for men), especially since we've been in temporary work situations since Harvey, but oh man, the gossip when a contractor/vistor showed up last year in shorts and flip-flops...it was the hot topic all day.
@jemmerjams if current blazer is a bit snug, suggest keeping it open and looping a dressy scarf around your neck. Love a good scarf to just help tie together the look and they don’t have to cost much at all to look nice (and draws eye upward so less likely to notice length of jacket)
@tinattt23 jcrew maternity has amazing size panel shorts and pants. Unfortunately since my last pregnancy they stopped making maternity clothes but you can find them on poshmark usually!
Has anyone bought a maternity swim suit yet? We are going on vacation in a few weeks and I just realized yesterday that I might need to buy a new swimsuit this summer. lol. Last pregnancy I just wore a bikini whenever we went swimming because we were always at private pools and it was usually just the two of us with maybe some family members. I really love one pieces right now so I would love to find a one piece maternity swimsuit. Anyone find some winners out there?

I got a tankini from Motherhood. The tank is really long on me (at least for now), so it feels like a one-piece. I'm not in pools or on beaches much, aside from vacation, so the purchase was mainly for our trip in 2 weeks. I may not ever wear it again! Pea in the Pod also has a lot of cute one pieces, and they are having a flash 40% off sale today. I couldn't get anyone to help me in the store and I didn't understand how maternity clothes worked last month, so I didn't try anything on there. (I was in one of those Destination Maternity stores, where it's Pea in the Pod downstairs and Motherhood upstairs.)
I got some jeans from Zulily that took a month to arrive (of course), and they are too tight in the legs. I've always been heavy in the thighs. They also feel like they're crooked when I'm wearing them. Fella assures me that my ass looks good, but it feels like the seam is crooked on my bum, and it's annoying. they were cheap, so I guess I'll keep them as backup jeans, but I have a pair of Jessica Simpson jeans that I ordered from Macy's on the way this week.
I checked Nordstrom Rack and a Gap Factory Store yesterday, but they didn't have anything maternity in store. I loved Loft jeans a few years ago, but I have no idea what size I would be, since I gained and lost weight since the last time I wore their pants. I worked at Loft a loooong time ago (like 13 years ago) and still have a few shirts and dresses from my time there, so I know they at least used to be good quality, but I am annoyed that they only have maternity clothes online and make you pay for return shipping. :P
I wish I could just live in flowy dresses, but it's not super practical for chasing 2-year-olds around. I tripped on my maxi dress last week and nearly faceplanted (which one of the kiddos found hilarious) and I feel like it's going to get worse when I can't see my feet.

I used my gap cash towards a 1-piece on gap.com a few weeks ago. It's plain, black, and but comfortable and seems like it is going to get the job done.
First time wearing maternity pants and OMG WHERE HAVE THESE BEEN ALL MY LIFE?
I'm seriously considering wearing maternity pants forever. First time I haven't had my pants dig in while at work all day. Elastic side panels are literally the best technology ever.
@acciocoffee that's such a great reminder!! I totally forgot about swimsuits and I'm definitely not going to fit in my regular one!
I finally busted out maternity pants this morning but they were from my first pregnancy - 8 years ago! And wouldn't you know, styles have changed over the past few years. I was trying on my work, business casual pants and holy smokes were those some wide legs! Apparently I'll need to be hitting up some of the stores mentioned in this thread for some current styles!
I just got all the stuff I ordered from Motherhood, and I only need to return 2 out of 9 things! Success! But they sent me the totally wrong size jeans... the tag inside said the correct size, but the actual pants were huge! So that’s a little annoying. I definitely need more workout pants - I’m going to be so bummed when my current pants (which I live in) don’t fit anymore.
@Lisa3379 Are returns free there? I've been needing to order some shorts, but I'm really picky when it comes to shorts so I want to make sure I can return them.
@acciocoffee I just ordered a bunch from Motherhood last night and returns are free in store. We have one nearby so that’s what I’ll do if my purchases don’t work out.
Also, if you don't have a Motherhood near you check to see if you have a Macy's that carries the line. They might accept returns (according to my coworker).
I just ordered a bunch of Zulily. I really need some more yoga pants/leggings so I bought some crop leggings. Most of mine are too tight around my stomach anymore. I also just got a bunch of hand me downs from a friend I need to try out.
@quiltandknit I ordered some stuff from them too last week and just got some in the mail. I tried on the dresses that I got and I think they fit okay, but I'm still in this awkward bump stage where the bump doesnt really fill out the part that is supposed to be round. So they look big, baggy and unflattering now but I know I will need them soon. Torn on returning them or just waiting, but its a 30 day return policy. Hmmm
Yeah, I’ll be schlepping my happy ass to a Motherhood store to do the returns, because you have to pay for shipping to send it back. Good thing I reserved this Saturday for a mommy get away day and I was planning on shopping anyway!
This cute shop popped up in my Insta feed for bathing suits, I haven't gotten one yet but will need to soon: https://mamagamaworld.com/
I have had a really hard time find maternity jeans, I don't want the over belly style, and I'm finding every pair has back gap. I eventually got a pair of DL1961 from Nordstrom rack that are workable. It's a pricey brand but they are comfortable.
I really with KanCan still made maternity jeans since those are my favorite jeans in general.
@beccajean71 I have done maternity stitch fix. I got a great pair of jeggings from them with an elastic waist that have been awesome for the transition stage between bloat and bump, and they still fit! Pricey but worth it for pieces like that. They have a lot of cute things but many of the tops and dresses I think are overpriced. I’ll use it for versatile pieces that I can get a lot of mileage out of, and maybe for special occasions like a baby shower dress.
@beccajean71 I did one a few weeks ago, the 2 tops worked great for me! Yes, they are maternity tops and are a little baggy in the front, and perhaps obviously maternity shirts. But they work if you're just barely pregnant, and look like they will last quite a way through, depending how big I get, so that's a win in my book, since they are a little more pricey than Motherhood. I'm actually avoiding a lot of the rouched tops and skin-tight tops right now because I'm not quite ready to rock the bump and admit to the world "I'm expecting!". Also it's still more of an awkward chubby bump and not nice and smooth, so don't want that out and about quite yet
The leggings were too tight in the tummy, and the dresses were just meh for my style (I had a new stylist for this fix, not my normal girl. Miss you Janine!), and/or didn't look good on me now (versatility is key for me right now). I have another one on the way this week, so we will see what they bring me!
@beccajean71 I did a maternity stitchfix also and was happy with what I got. They sent a three pack of support camis, a cardigan, a maternity top, and a pair of crop full panel jeans. They were all basics that I can wear the whole pregnancy. I wasn't as happy with it as I have been with all my other boxes, but I didn't think to check if it was my same stylist like @jemmerjams mentioned.
I have the opposite problem in that I have tree trunks for legs and a slimmer waist (which is now obviously catching up to the rest of me), but I'm also really short so wide legged stuff look ridiculous on me. Usually non-maternity Jessica Simpson jeans work well for me so I am going to go test out a maternity version tonight. Otherwise I plan on living in leggings and kimonos this entire pregnancy.
Sorry if this has already been asked, but does anyone have experience with how Pink Blush tops run size-wise?

@jemmerjams re: the not quite nice and smooth bump yet.. not sure what type of pants you’re wearing, but I find that if I wear low panel or other non-full panel pants, the bump looks a lot more awkward under shirts. If I switch to full panel pants that cover the whole thing, it smooths it out and looks so much better!
AFM, my old navy order came yesterday, and I’m only returning 2 out of 9 things! I call that a win! I got some super cute dresses for work and summer, and pants that are work appropriate and actually fit! If anyone is looking for side panel work appropriate pants, the old navy pixie pants were surprisingly nice.
@pumpkinpancake YES! my inset panel jeans do this weird squish thing to the belly and make it look like a strange pointy blump, the full panel makes it nice and round. Also congrats on the order being a win!
I ended up ordering 2 swimsuits from Target to try. I'm really hoping they fit. There aren't a whole lot of reviews yet so I'm ordering blindly. I think they arrive next week so I will report back once I try them on.
@bel194 I think pink blush tops (well, everything really) run pretty small. I'm normally a small in tops (without sleeves because man shoulders) but I'm most definitely a large in pink blush tops. I found their bust measurement guide to be fairly accurate, I'm just under what they say a large should be, and everything fits well.
@pumpkinpancake yeah I notice it more when I'm not in full panel pants. I'm in the process of trying to find more full panels that fit my tree trunk thighs!
Ok, question. I've mentioned my pant struggles previously... So... For full panel maternity pants... Is the back panel seam (where the panel meets the pant fabric in the back) supposed to be above your butt crack?? Or somewhere below? Because I can rarely find a pair where I'm not relying on the stretchy panel to cover my half my butt. Or is my butt just wayyyy too big for the pants I'm finding and I need to look for pants with a roomier rear? Or am I being crazy and the pants do fit? (Constantly tugging them up though...) fwiw I do have a huge ass, so I frequently have the mooning issue with non maternity pants unless they are curvy/high waisted.
I like the idea of not wearing leggings all the time but I can’t for the life of me find a pair of maternity jeans I like. They just fit weird!! They either squish the heck out of one body part or I have to constantly pull them up. Or both. I want to give up and live in sweatpants. I did buy a pair of men’s sweatpants to get DH off my back (I kept wearing all of his) and I looove them!

These were the 3 I tried on. My favorites ended up being 1 and 3 (3 wasn't as revealing as the image looks, but still cute), and I decided no halter just because of the extra weight/pull on my neck from extra boob weight
