@llamamama14 yeah they went through a fake occupation phase for a while, like "dog lover" etc. But now they're doing a 180 on that and like every girl this season had a phd, etc., but oddly didn't really play it up because Arie didn't feel comfortable with smart girls. I think he literally said, "I just never thought I could be with a smart girl" implying that he is too dumb for it. I know they originally were casting for Peter (in fact most of the women thought they were going to compete for Peter), and then like a week before filming swapped to Arie, so IDK, maybe that's why there was such a mismatch (Peter seemed to like smart women since he was into the fact that Rachel is a lawyer? IDK). But I still like that while they're clearly still casting straight up models/actresses with agents/managers, etc. (I mean, they go to casting calls to get cast) at least they're casting smart models/actresses lol.
@Amphibious22 I watched it too and liked it! I kinda liked that it was shorter because it wasn't as drawn out and boring as Bachelor or BIP can be. I liked the couples on it too.
It was interesting to see everyone couple up and stay together(for the most part). Fascinating...take bikinis, beaches, and massive alcohol out of the equation and everyone is pretty straight laced!
Re: jobs on the bachelor...one of the girls I watch with is a hard core fan and was on the season when they had some fans in the mix, went home the first night though, and then was later on BIP but when she was on the bachelor she was interning in NYC for ESPN so her job title literally said “Jumbotron operator”

@krashke 2017, Henry color. My amazon registry won’t give me the discount until April 3rd so eff it, just sticking with this one from Albee Baby. Still saved some $$$. Need to find a home for it in this apt tho... sigh
All you ladies who are actually getting stuff ready for these babies are making me feel like such a slacker! We have her crib, but it’s in the garage and won’t be put together until much closer to due date time. And we don’t plan on buying anything until after our baby shower in April. Haha. And I guarantee all the stuff we have from DS that will be reused again won’t be washed or prepped until like mid May. Nor will washing of the clothes happen until then most likely. SUPER slacking over here.
At at least I know that we have all the major stuff already. And if for some reason she made a surprise early early arrival, we have the basics covered. But still. Y’all are making me feel like I should probably do something to prep.
@BurlapandLace I only have the stroller bc it went on sale and was going to likely sell out. And I only assembled it because it comes in a huge box, and we live in a small apt, and I needed to get it out of the guest room before my mom comes to stay with us Friday for 2.5 weeks lol. I got nothin else. Not even a real place to put the damn stroller lol.
@doxiemoxie212 - I feel you on that one! When we lived in our super small house when DS was born, our stroller lived in the car. And you guys don’t even have that option :-/ Maybe under the guest bed? Haha. Im not sure! You guys will figure it out though!
Even though we are in a decent size house now, that’s still one of the main reasons I haven’t started setting stuff up yet. Baby will be in our room to start, and I don’t want the crib taking up room in our room until it’s needed. (Not to mention I want to finish our room so I can get “after” pics to post of the remodel we started when we bought a year ago - and I’d like those pics taken before it turns into a nursery). Same reason why I haven’t washed the car seat/mamaroo/ any of the other stuff yet. Once I wash it, I will want it to be in the house/not in the garage anymore where it will get dirty again. And I don’t really want it in the house taking up space too soon before we need it to. Sounds dumb since it will obviously take up space when needed. But right now I’d like to push that off until it’s necessary.
Wow! (<----Lolz!) I go on one little vacation and the drive-by gets testy!
Made it to Key West! I feel sooooo lucky, because I think stuff started getting canceled right after my flight left. It is so nice down here. But I'm annoyed that I spent half the afternoon working.
@Amphibious22 So glad to hear your interview went well! FX you hear good new soon!
Agree with others, I can't believe it has already been six months! I know I'm going to sound crazy, but it seems like it has flown by!!
Also agree with others that Pluto should still be a planet. Dwarf planet...so lame. I remember being irrationally upset when they announced it was losing planet status.
OK, it is 3:20 in the morning here and I've been up for an hour and a half working and catching up here, so I'll just head over to the MOTN thread where I belong.
Whoa! I have a lot of catching up to do tonight. Wahhhh I feel like I missed out on a party. I have a really big presentation for work today that we were prepping all day for yesterday so I've missed a lot. I am so tempted to go read all the other threads now, but only 2 hours til go time and I need to run through it a few more times. I hate this kind of stuff. Gives me serious high school anxiety. Hope you ladies have a great day and can't wait to come back and catch up!
@BurlapandLace I need to sort through DS’s old stuff to see how much I still have in NB/3m. I feel like I need to wait until April before I start doing anything too.
@LaceyBee522 Glad you made it to Florida! Hope you stop working and start catching some rays.
@Amphibious22 When I saw her age after her initial question, I figured the odds of her becoming actively involved were slim. Then, when she not only didn't thank those who responded to her, but started two new threads to tell us how lousy we are, I had a feeling her immaturity may be age-related, but she may end up being this immature when she's my age, who knows? ETA: Glad the interview went well! FX for good news next week!
@Amphibious22 keeping my fingers crossed for good news!
Add me to the slacker table. We moved our bed to the third floor last weekend since our renovation is FINALLY complete. The whole process started BEFORE I was pregnant. But I was so sore after all that, that I'm not looking forward to moving the guest room furniture out of the nursery to our old bedroom. I'm going to need to do it soon because I'm getting more and more limited in what I can help with. I wasn't going to start washing clothes or anything until late April, but I feel like that is going to come sooner then I realize.
@burlapandlace no worries, I'm with you. I pulled DS' NB/3 months clothes out... and they've been sitting in bins in our room ever since. I decided I'm going wash those this month (figure out what we need cause opposite seasons). Then pull out/wash covers for swings/bouncers/RnP etc in April. Then the couple wks i have in May, I'll just organize a bit. Cause at the rate the renovation in baby's room is going, his room won't be ready for him. So i have to figure out where to put everything till then. oh and we still need to buy a new car seat/bases.

Add me to the procrastinators section. This baby has one outfit and that's it as far as clothing. I'm hoping to hit up the thrift store tomorrow to stock up on baby clothes. I need to get a new crib mattress, ours is now officially 6 years old and is cracked all over. I also need to wash the carseat cover for the seat baby will be using and move the straps to the newborn setting. Maybe I should feel more rushed about it, considering I don't expect baby to stay in past 37 weeks, but I don't so... I also want to hit up a fabric store and buy material to make some blankets (and superhero capes for the older two). We'll see if that ever happens lol.
@BurlapandLace@catlady1215 You ladies say you feel like you're behind but when you mention all the leftover stuff you have from DSs it reminds me how much more I have to get lol, which is half the reason I started early so I could get the larger expenses over with.
I've stopped buying things for now as my shower is next weekend but given it's in a different country and my mom/sister agreed for me to not bother with a registry I'm expecting I'll get clothes or blankets. But I have the crib/dresser and glider is en route to TRU so should be here soon. And my Vista (frame) is assembled and parked in the living room so I can take it for a practice stroll whenever I feel it. And I have the car seat. Once I get back from travelling it will be April and then it's crunch time to get all the other bits and pieces!!
We got the crib and glider last weekend because I thought we were going to have to order them and it would take weeks to get here but they had the two we wanted in stock at BBB so we could just pick them up with MH pick up truck and set them up. Some gifts are staring to be shipped to us from people that can't make it to the shower and they are just piling up in boxes on the floor and dresser of the nursery. Definitely haven't washed or put away anything yet.

@krashke I cried when I saw the bag fall over in the preview. I expect that the movie will gut me.
We used Munchkin Latch bottles with DS. My H filled one MOTN and forgot to put in the valve at the bottom. He poured all the BM on the counter. I sobbed for hours.
@kfren@marcus7676 I think it would definitely be more relatable as a STM! Maybe I will watch it at home on maternity leave so I can post partum hormone sob in private.

@krashke Yeah, until you are in that situation, you cannot imagine how anguishing it is, especially when you have low supply anyway. I once lost 4 oz. and my husband asked (seriously) if he should hide sharp objects. I was hysterical.
@becca_123 once you have your shower you will have so much baby gear- and it will all be new and exciting and not such a chore to pull out of storage and clean. With DD I felt like we just had everything pretty much ready to go after our showers. I did have the nursery basically completed before the showers though- because i remember showing pictures of it during the shower... and DS's nursery is still a dumping ground for us, so I'm further behind with this pregnancy than I was fo@Becca_Elizabeth
@krashke yay for the crib and glider! It is such a nice to feeling to have those two big items ready... I will say that if you plan on getting the crib mattress (and/or bassinet mattress) shipped to you, to get them as early as possible, becasue they tend to smell. You just want to be able to have them air out for a couple of weeks before LO arrives.
AFM I feel so behind, but because DD is only 14.5 months old, we didn't store as much of her stuff and I have the few outfits I have for him washed (no place to put them away, so they are sitting on a shelf in his closet next to my hair dryer, curling irons, and an extra dish mat (i.e. the place random stuff goes to die). His clothes are only washed because i added them to DD's laundry.
This weekend we are planning on clearing out the nursery.... not sure what i"m doing with all the boxed of junk we have in there now, but I'm sure we can find a new home for it (maybe even just throw it out). I just ordered the light switch and wall decals for the nursery from etsy too- so hopefully when they arrive I'll be motivated to get the nursery painted. I also need to get to BRU (if the damn winter would just stop attacking us) for the trade in event.
I was lurking on another BMB, and someone posted (under a different user name) admitting they were not really pregnant, but post regularly on that board. That made me think of an article I read awhile back in a magazine about a woman who made things up to get sympathy from users on TB. WTF?!?!?! Stranger Danger is real, people!
@kfren that's a big reason I never send money or anything to anyone in these groups. In my first, we had a couple of people who had constant sob stories and people kept sending them money. When I mentioned the red flags I saw, they acted like I was being mean and awful. Now, 6 years later, I have sent some stuff to some of the members, but I've met quite a few in person and we're all Facebook friends etc.
Wow- I was caught up when I left work yesterday and now I'm so behind!
I was able to go through DD1's clothes and I'm pretty sure I found all of the nb and 0-3 vaccum bags and I have everything that needs to be washed in a hamper in the new nursery. DH is likely hitting up our wood supplier this weekend to get stuff to start working on DD1's big girl bed so we can move the crib in the nursery. He will build a dresser for DD2 (built crib and dresser for dd1) but likely won't have time until after she is born so I've been looking for a reasonably priced dresser to hold us over.
I got a glider for a great deal late last year so that is in the new nursery. Sherwin Williams has their 40% off sale the 3rd weekend in April- so that is when we'll paint.
@May14th2011 People really sent money?!?!?! Wow. That is crazy. You were definitely right not to and those who acted like you were mean for not doing so, well, bless their hearts. It's a shame that we live in a world where you cannot just trust people.
