@izza2 hugs I’m sorry the hospital wasn’t up to snuff. I’m sure bring in healthcare yourself you know how they should have handled things. GL with classes.

I don't know if it is vacation brain or pregnancy brain, but I can't remember if I've commented on that troll not being pregnant. Totally creepy, but such good drama. Almost too good drama. I think she might be totally stirring the isht. But, what do I know - maybe there really are people who just need to belong so badly they'd pretend to be pregnant on an online forum.
@izza2 I'll be thinking about you this week! Take care of your momma and I hope she has a speedy recovery. And GL with classes!
ETA - I just realized the non-pregnant woman is on the August board. That has to be that same person "Lee" or "Bre," right? Is it even possible they'd have two separate people willing to troll them so hard?
re the troll - - this may be a UO, but I almost feel bad for them. If they need to pretend to be pregnant in an online forum for attention, they are either really lonely or need some help.
@stephcat421 Add me to the shell toe crew. Literally my favourite shoes! I already walk like RUN DMC... slowly and with purpose, so might as well look the part. Can I get a velour tracksuit to complete the ensemble? That would be so cozy!
I want the snow to stop so I don;t have to wear boots any more... and then I can breakout my Birks. Oh, how I wish the transformed into snowshoes.

I just put the boy down for a nap and decided to pick up toys. I'm going to add toy pickup to the list of things I'm becoming too pregnant for even with the grabber tool. Too many little pieces to rescue from beneath furniture. Now I'm a sweaty, panting mess. DH came home very sick last night and spent the evening in the bathroom so he's home today and still sleeping. Meanwhile, my pregnant self is always awake and I feel like I've had an entire day already. Boy woke up early and it was like a treat to have something to do. Got him dressed, fed him, and played with him, now he's back to sleep and I'm just like...twiddling thumbs now. I have a whole list of things to do today but I'm waiting to assess DH's health to see if he needs to go to the doctor, wants to stay home with/without the baby, or wants to come along. We briefly abandoned our quest to be vegetarian/eventual vegans but his getting sick has renewed our fervor and I need to go to the store and meal plan among other things.
@izza2 sorry the hospital is so frustrating- focus on your mom this weekend- we will still be here (being rude to 18 year olds and deleting names from the spreadsheet) when you get back.
@doxiemoxie212 THOSE BOOTS!!! where does one get those boots! (in giant calf sizes...)

NBR - and I didn't wanna post this in the Question thread, but does anyone have a Kindle and recommend it? I really wanna get back into reading, but I've always been old school. I'm thinking the convenience could be nice.

@sunshineandwhiskey I LOVE my kindle! I can rent e-books from the library so I can browse books, check them out and read them all without leaving my couch. Then I don't have to pay for every single one. It's great for travel so I don't have to pack multiple heavy books.
I have the OG one without the back light which I like for reading before bed because you don't have the screen light affecting your sleep. I just use the low light of my bedside lamp and MH can still fall asleep. I think it was like $70 at the time and I have had it for like 5 or 6 years with no problems so I have definitely gotten my money's worth.

@sunshineandwhiskey +1 to LOVE my kindle. Love how easy it is for traveling, love not having more books to clutter up my home. Had the original kindle for about 5 years before it petered out on me, now I have had the kindle paperwhite for about a year- so the option to backlight is there, but I usually have it set pretty low. I love that it’s not a full on tablet-like screen and that reading is all I can really do with it.
@elsie42 luckily we don't have a BRU registry but we intentionally didn't purchase our nursery furniture through them because I figured this would happen and I wanted to make sure we would have a good return policy and warranty if something happened.

@krashke@2589 Thanks ladies!!! Definitely interested in a basic one, not something that is similar to an iPad for your reason @2589 of just being able to read haha I feel like i get too distracted otherwise.

@sunshineandwhiskey I have the paperwhite kindle (I think?) and I love it. I love that I can read at night without putting any lights on at all, and it's just sliiiightly light enough that I can still read the words lol. It makes falling asleep after so much easier. I wish DH would use one because he has to keep his bedside light on to read (or use his computer/phone), and it drives me nuts. Also it's so convenient to just bring the kindle with me on planes, etc., and I love that I can use the kindle app on my phone if I happen not to have my kindle and be bored somewhere.
The BRU that I normally frequent is closing. I've been going to get basic stuff (I don't need much) at the discounted liquidation prices. I will say though, the discounts aren't as steep as I had hoped. Since I have all of the big stuff the "baby basics" were only like 10% off, but all apparel is/was? 30%...
On a more somber note...Yesterday the department that I worked in for 3 years all got 60 day notices and their work will now be outsourced. I'm still fairly close with a lot of the people there so I feel terrible for them and at the same time so relieved that I dodged that bullet.
A friend of mine worked at a company that was bought by another company, and they were told that a lot of their jobs wouldn't continue, and they were going to spend three months evaluating all of them, etc., and only a portion would remain with the new company. My friend worked her ass off to make sure she was one of the people who got to stay. Then after three months they announced that everyone who wasn't going to stay would have SIX MONTHS of full pay where their only job was to find a new job. They didn't have to come to work if they didn't want to. All her coworkers/friends who ended up on that track had a dope ass six months, and they all ended up with essentially much better/nicer/cooler jobs. I think they got severance on top of this once they left? It was insane. She was so mad she was a try hard lol.
@elsie42 ugh I just hope it holds out selfishly until after my shower! Likely I won't get the several hundred dollars in endless rewards credit, but we'll see....
I just got really excited about baby Halloween costumes! Anyone have any cute inspo for a 4-5 month old. I.e. they wont be sitting up likely and def not standing.

@krashke KIDS IN COSTUMES IS THE BEST THING EVER THEY SHOULD BE MANDATORY EVERY DAY!
Anytime I hear about a parent being annoyed their kid won't take off a costume or whatever and wear normal clothes, I'm just like stfu, do you see how cute your kid is right now?
Also no, I have no ideas, but I will search on pinterest now to make myself go oooo ahhhhh
@stephcat421 I know me too! My shower isn't for over a month! And I put a ton of stuff on it with the hopes of getting some of those rewards dollars. Also our nursery furniture is on there too. FX they keep the BRU brand maybe?
@doxiemoxie212 Love that porcupine one!! And someone one has to do the ramen.
DS was 4m for his first Halloween but I only made a Tula costume. (Which I failed to take a picture of ) He was a pterodactyl and DD (2 at the time) was a T-Rex.
DD1 was a witch when she was 3, almost 4 months at Halloween and this past year she was a lady bug at almost 16 months. I wanted her to be a flight attendant, which would be pretty easy to put together, but figured with her being so small no one would be able to tell what she was. I'm thinking this year maybe I can have both girls be flight attendants and we would have a cabin crew! Although it may be tough to get her to be something other than a princess as she is already obsessed.
@elsie42 ugh that sucks mine is on 3/25 but doesn't really leave much time in the event of exchanges+ returns. Which is the BRU brand for furniture? Is it just called BRU? We got the Baby Cache Vienna collection and our crib is en route to TRU as we speak. But with that said this is sold exclusively at BRU so I'm hoping the manufacturer honors warranties and also stays afloat with another store so we can reach them in the future. We are paying the $300 right away to get the toddler and full size conversion kits though just in case. My neighbor couldn't find a suitable fit for her convertible crib when BABY USA closed and she had to scrap her crib and start from scratch!
ugh im not happy about BRU- there are no BBB any where near us (I have to leave the state to find one). I'm fine with TRU closing but leave BRU alone. I spend way too much money there- but it's so nice to not have to wait 2-3 days (because my postal services typically has a 1 day delay on all my orders) for Amazon. Plus I don't know what I would have done without my endless earnings when I had DD- there was so much random stuff I ended up buying.
+1 on the Kindle, but I found I wasn't reading as much last year, taking care of DD. I recently started having time to read again but mostly because I'm not constantly googling and reading baby books on how to get a baby to sleep through the night/ webmd (is it normal that my baby's ...). Looking forward to being able to use it again- once DS starts sleeping through the night.
@stephcat421 ours is Oxford Baby which is also exclusive to BRU. I do plan to get the toddler rail right away too (not a fan of the full bed anyway). And we don't have a BBB anywhere near us either @jsl82
I went to our local thrift store and spent $25. I got over 40 onesies (nb-6months), a pair of maternity shorts( new with tags), an Easter dress (new with tags still on) for my 5yo, a shirt with vest for my 2yo and a swaddleme. 95% of the onesies are clearly brand new, never even washed. Some still have tags on them. I love thrift store finds!
