I responded because i didn't see this discussion oops. But seriously, wtf?
My mum had a cardiac cath this morning and ended up with a massive bleed because her femoral artery was severely calcified, so when they put the plug in to close the artery they went in, it didn't do it's job. She just got out of surgery an hour or so ago for a repair of the artery. She'll be hospitalized for a couple of days yo make sure everything is okay, the blood in her abdomen is absorbed okay, and she can walk without issues afterward.
But on the upside, her cardiac arteries apparently all look wonderful.
@izza2 well yay to the good results of the cath, but sorry she had to go through the rest of that! Our cardiologists have been using radial access whenever possible and it’s so much nicer. Femoral is not my fav to post-op even in a good situation. Speedy recovery to her!
llamamama14 - I've never been in that situation, or known anyone personally who has, thankfully but I do have some insurance knowledge (although mostly auto). I think what insurance will cover vastly depends on their policy. Is their policy actual cash value or retail/replacement? ie: that tv they bought that is 6 years old isn't worth nearly as much as what it will cost to buy a replacement. Also, from what I have heard from people I know who handle HO claims and from the licensing classes I took forever ago one of the biggest things that people miss out on with their claims is not having an itemized list of their belongings and all of the small things. So maybe something that would be helpful for them is gathering the things that they wouldn't think to tell the insurance company about. For example...with losses involving kitchens...when claims are filed many people forget about all of the kitchen gadgets that they have- those pots and pans, griddles, food processors, etc...often go unclaimed.
Being that it was a living room do you know if their family photos or anything were lost? Maybe a shutterfly gift card or something of that nature if that was the case? I'm a freak and always think about the irreplaceable things like that....hence why I've decided I prefer printed photo books like that over hand made scrapbooks. God forbid something happens they're on record with shutterfly and I can have them re-printed.

To be honest, I don't know why they didn't go with radial because every cardiologist I've known has preferred radial.
I'm laughing. At nearly 6 months pregnant, I have been called out 3x on being pregnant lol!
Lady just came into our office and she asked when I was due and she said I didn't look that far along. Def good for the mind, because sometimes I feel huge lol
@izza2 Ugh, that sounds awful! Wishing your mom a speedy recovery from her surgery.
Re: drive-bys in the spreadsheet thread. I'm starting to think it is a difference in what "regular" means to people. Those of us who check in multiple times a day don't think once or twice a week/month posters are regular. But maybe they think that is a lot to check in to an online forum? I don't know and I'm defs not trying to white knight, just looking for an explanation.
Re: frequency of posting...I know other BMB's have used a set number of replies as a benchmark for the FB group later. I just hope that people who want to be involved make the effort to get involved before we make a decision on something like that.

I have no idea on how to define "active", but I can say that if the majority of the people who ARE online even once a week don't recognize your name, I wouldn't count that as being an "active" part of the community.
I mean, blatant cut off is definitely if you haven't posted more than a question or an ultrasound picture in a couple of months, or just haven't posted in that time period. Then we have no idea who you are, what you're about or what's happening in your life. Which is why I usually go by that when I've done sweeps on the spreadsheet and deleted people (and then deleted people again because they came back for a day, put themselves back on the spreadsheet, shared an ultrasound picture and told us the sex, and then left for two months).
I have zero issue with people coming back in third tri or joining during the last few months and showing they're interested in the other ladies for more than Google and ooing over the ultrasounds. But when it comes to the eventual move to Facebook, I definitely won't recognize the people who haven't participated for months at a time or haven't come out of the STM and product threads. Or came back at week 38 and started being active again and expect we know they're not psycho and should be added to FB.
I mean... If someone doesn't know @doxiemoxie212 is a vegetarian and @LaceyBee522 is having twins, for instance, they aren't a part of the community.
On a more important note: thank you guys for your well wishes My dad and I left a short while after she got to her room because she was falling asleep and needed to rest, but so far she's doing good. I really appreciate it
@llamamama14 no advice beyond what others have said but you’re so good to try to help.
Drive by posts make more sense to me. But drive bys to be added to the spreadsheet makes no sense. Why would you want your information out there in a spreadsheet if you haven’t been contributing?!
Granted, one of the spreadsheet drive bys was a SS post that we kindly redirected yesterday. However, I linked the read first and intro’s for her, so not sure why she went straight for the spreadsheet instead...
I don't recognize the poster in there that says she's a regular... where else does she post on our board? I use a mobile Web browser so I can't see that info..
@sabby2 25 replies, mostly product spotlights and some weekly questions. I did recognize the name but can’t say I see her around much or know things about her off the top of my head like I do for most of the regulars.
@dinodna3 I’m addicted haha. It’s seriously the easiest recipe too. I’ve added it in the spoiler if anyone’s interested.
1.25 cups flour 1/4 tsp salt 1.5 tsp baking powder 1/2 cup sugar combine together
1/3 cup melted butter 3/4 cup milk 1 tsp vanilla add to flour mixture and combine until paste like - will be slightly clumpy
spoon into 4 ramekins (or 8x8 pan). Add whatever fruit you want to the top - I’ve been using blueberries - about 1/4 cup each ramekin. Bake 40-45 min at 350 degrees. The more fruit, the more gooey, and you can layer too. I like the separate layers.

@izza2 You're doing the Lord's work culling that spreadsheet, and I say that as someone who knows she's a little flaky and would be sad but totally understand getting cut. The balls on some people. I peeked and it looks like we're coming up ~60% boy moms, which is interesting. Also, thoughts for your entire family this week -- what a jarring turn to the day, but I'm glad your Mom's doing well!
@llamamama14 I think y'all are doing everything right -- restaurant gift cards are perfect in that they get them out of the hotel room for a night. The only other things I thought of are 1) offering to keep their pets for a while if they have any or 2) helping with yard work if their hotel/rental isn't nearby. You and your neighbors are pretty wonderful, by the way.
Parenthood... because I enjoy repeating myself 7,000 times a day I decided to do it again...
I have been telling dd to pick up her Memory game she threw all over the living room for 25 minutes. She just yelled FINE! She is going to be a difficult pre-teen and teenager..
@izza2 I hope your mom has a speedy recovery! Glad to hear she is resting now.
@May14th2011 that is hysterical whatever gets them to use the potty I guess.
Re: the drive byes... totally agree that while I vaguely recognized her name if I never hear from her again I wouldn't have noticed. I have been busier with work lately and with DD being sick most of the winter I just haven't been able to get on as much - but there is a difference between not being as active and barely being active. If someone wants to really join in- I'm all for it, but at this point in our pregnancies how active are the average drive byes going to be?
Thanks for the ideas, guys. I'm just thinking about it a lot because it hit close to home, literally, and I'm looking out my front window all day as a crane lifts tree trunks out of their living room. It's also the same model house as ours so I'm thinking "oh that would have been our living room..."
@izza2 So sorry about your mom but so glad she's doing better.
@May14th2011 So cute. Why not? Potty training is so funny. (Except when it's not...)
@krashke I made a video of my belly moving the other night while lying on the couch. Alien belly!
@izza2 what a scary day! Wishing your mom a quick recovery!
@sunshineandwhiskey I've been avoiding the "what I'm eating" thread because I have a ravenous sweet tooth and no self control...and now all I want is cobbler. For the baby
@May14th2011 That is great! Please say you made a written record elsewhere so you can remind him of this when he gets older! @izza2 Glad to hear your mom is doing better. Hope she continues to improve! Sending peaceful, positive energy to you and yours. @llamamama14 I know it would make me sick to think about "what-ifs" if I were in your situation. Props to you and your neighbors for being awesome. @sunshineandwhiskey Thanks for giving me a project for tomorrow night! Blueberry sounds delish, but I think i might make blackberry or peach.
Well, today for a nice surprise, the bump app, chrome and safari have all decided not to let me see anyone’s profile pic. I’ve logged in and out. Restarted my phone. I’m not sure what’s going on... a conspiracy??
