Re: Random Ransoms (3/5)

  • Okay @marcus7676 relieved that it’s not just me.

  • @krashke I might be mistaken but I’m pretty sure when May went to a private group they had a couple questions to answer! No idea what they entailed, but not a totally crazy idea..

  • @2589 Same here! Just weird little broken squares showing up.

  • @aharv77 @elsie42 this is what’s been happening to me with certain gifs too so I’m not sure what the malfunction is!

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @dinodna3 I believe when May did theirs, on top of the questions, if the person who started the private group didn’t recognize a user name trying to get in, they had to check with another specified regular about it as well

  • @izza2 I hope your mom is doing well today and on the fast road to recovery.

I thought it was just my app acting weird. I had a really hard time getting it to cooperate at all yesterday during the day and now last night and today, no profile pictures...only broken squares.

@2589 I thought it was something to do with my phone/data but I guess not!  I have the same problem.

ETA @Amphibious22 GL on your interview!  You'll rock it.  More outfits are always fun  :)
  • @MissKittyDanger didn’t they make Pluto a planet again?
  • @doxiemoxie212 I think they gave Pluto and several others in that area the title of "dwarf planet". There's a cluster of I think 3.

  • @doxiemoxie212 Technically no. They made a new category since people were upset. It's a 'dwarf planet'
My argument is that it fits 2/3 {or 3/4?} of the requirements to be a planet, so it should be. My H explained that with planets, they have to be all or nothing.
I explained that there are lots of things that 'don't full qualify' as certain things and are still considered whatever it is.
  • My last BMB made the decision to go to IG first.  Someone created a new account and to get the account name, we had to PM the regular who created it with our IG name.  Then, she approved our IG name as a follower of the new account on IG.  Then, we could follow the other people who were approved.  So it wasn't questions or anything, but we had to be approved to join.
  • Plus one to not being able to see people’s pics - maybe the bump is just trying to give us a good test to see who’s screen name is actually recognized ;-)

All this cobbler talk has got me wanting cobbler. For breakfast!

I knew they said Pluto wasn’t a planet anymore. But I didn’t know they came up with a new dwarf planet category! Alright - I learned something new today. I should be able to go back to bed now, right?

Today is the last day of DH’s 4 day fishing trip. He will be home this evening. We haven’t seen him since Saturday night. So DS and I are ready for him to be home.
  • I got on my computer and all of the icons are gone too, so it's The Bump. At least on the computer it says who each person is next to the broken icon picture. Fortunately, I can still see gifs and pictures.

  • Phew! made it... Got all caught up... Was at Great Wolf Lodge with DD and DH for 4 days, (does that qualify as our Babymoon ??) and am just getting caught up on the threads!

@izza2 - so scary when things go awry with our parents.

@MissKittyDanger - All Hail! I am a weird mess about stuff too... like crying like a baby at RuPaul's Drag Race...

@krashke -  I had a lesson in bump comparison at the waterpark. As a plus sized mama, I rocked a suit proudly! But man was I envious of the bumps on other mamas that are way more IG-worthy. I just kept reminding myself that DD will see the photos and have the memories of her mama being one to play and swim with her.

@May14th2011 - Songs, Dora, you name it. We would love to get some consistency going... literally. Hoping moving up to the preschool room at Daycare will get her more motivated.

AFM, I feel like I am in a weird limbo days of pregnancy. Too early to get nursery set up. Still gathering equipment. Trying to get my other "adulting" done (taxes, budgeting, meal planning). And well, kinda weirdly lonely. Part of it is the snow, and lack of social life outside of DD. Part of it is me sick of waiting for DH to get a job that gives me some free time. And the fact that my parents are still in Florida and not home for another month. Then they are away for 3 weeks to Europe before the middle of may.

Meh.... this too shall pass into nesting soon enough (I hope)

Mama to a wonderful DD - Sep 2015, Wife to my DH since 2011, 2 dogs, a cat, and hoping to add No. 2 in May/June 2018. Canadian.
5 - IUIs, 3 - IVF retrievals, 2- failed transfers (fresh, and frozen), PGS on second IVF resulted in 1 perfect emby, and DD.
3rd IVF w PGS resulted in 3! perfect embys. 1st transfer - Sep 2017 2 more on ice.
  • @amphibious22 goodluck today! and nothing wrong with a few extra maternity pieces. I decided I need to start looking for some spring stuff. I might need to check out this pinkblush I keep hearing about.

Like the idea of some kind of questions/screening for a private board. and like @kfren said, a private board before fb isn't a bad idea.

  • I am THE saddest pregnant lady of all time right now. My favorite local donut place stopped making donuts! they're just selling sandwiches and soups! the donuts are what people loved, you can't do that!!

dunkin donuts and their frozen little donuts don't compare. our local grocery store homemade ones aren't bad. but this place made the biggest, overstuffed, cream filled donuts. I almost couldn't finish one (almost lol). now they're gone. GONE! :'(

it was mine and DS' place to stop after the park or grocery shopping also.

  • @catlady1215 I am so sorry. Although this door may have closed, hopefully a window soon will open, and you will be sent a donut shop like no other, even better than this one!  (Make sure you let the counter persons know how disappointed you are, though. If enough people complain...)
  • @catlady1215 that is so so sad!  Cinnamon and sugar donuts were my jam with DD1 so I totally get it!

On a very random note...does anyone have any under eye cream that they love?  Right now I just use some Neutrogena retinol wrinkle cream stuff but I can't tell that it does anything, lol.  I feel like everything looks fine in the morning but by the end of the day my makeup has settled into those lovely under eye wrinkles I started getting from lack of sleep when I had dd1, and it just makes everything look worse, lol.  I need to get ahead of this for dd2.

  • @kfren lolol I hope you're right! I just might need to spend alittle time on my maternity leave scooping out neighboring towns for homemade donut shops.

this place also had alittle local diner. all named "bob's"... and bob recently passed. so I hope the family reconsiders their decision.

  • @kmurdock925 I use the Caudalie Vine Active eye cream. It's pretty lightweight but moisturizing. It's not a miricle worker so it's not going to make your wrinkles go away, I'm not sure that there is an eye cream that will, but it helps my makeup stay put all day. Additionally, I set my under eyes with powder with my beauty blender kind of like baking but I don't use a ton of powder or let it sit for long.

Yeah + 1 to no profile pics today.

The snow was pretty mild for us. We're just south of the swath of the country getting hit hard. Nothing was cancelled. It was pretty on the trees this morning but now it's slushy. DS still wants to go make a snowball.

    @amphibious22 Good luck!

  • @kmurdock925 I agree with @krashke, I don't think any eye creams are miracle workers. If you look at the reviews on Sephora.com, the eye cream category is like notoriously low ratings for every product. I think maybe there are some retinol ones that do something, but we can't use those during pregnancy anyway. I have a La Mer free deluxe sample, which I enjoy using because it's creamy and smells nice, but I don't even think that does anything - certainly wouldn't pay whatever ungodly amount for a fullsize. I think it's more important to just not fuck up your eye area - like, don't tug or drag it, don't expose it to too much sun, etc.
  • Y'all, I made the mistake of going outside in this weather without an umbrella or hood.... lolz. My coat is going to be soaking wet for days. Also, I have to use the belly extender thing now, which means my neck is more exposed? Hard to explain... if only TB would let me upload photos from my phone right now... it looks dumb AF. Anyway, it's gross out. I have regrets. And I am eating ice cream in bed to console myself instead of doing work or cleaning or making actual lunch.
  • @doxiemoxie212 I want to eat ice cream in bed. I would also take some rain/snow. It's super gray here but no rain.

Afm, we were supposed to Seaworld this weekend but it's supposed to rain so now we're probably not going. I'm bummed because I wanted to go somewhere fun, so now we'll probably just go to town and do the mall or Costco. Considerably less fun.
  • @May14th2011 it's like, horizontal wet, clumpy hurts-your-face snowing buckets out right now with a ton of wind. You do not want this... at least not in a city where you walk everywhere.

It's not a miracle worker, but the only 2 eye creams I've noticed ANY difference with are IT Cosmetics and/or Benefit.
    They're just brightening creams and it just seems under eye area more balanced than anything. I get weird dark spots at the outer corner of my eyes and I just find they're not as dark {fyi it's not shadow or dark spots - just looks like shadow from my lashes lol}
  • MissKittyDanger  ooh I use IT Cosmetic's cc cream and really like it.  I love that it has spf 50.

You guys have pretty much confirmed my initial thoughts on eye products though, lol.  They only minimally help.  I'm probably better off finding a better concealer/powder routine and just continuing to moisturize and keep sunscreen on which I do anyway.  The wrinkles aren't bad it is just when my makeup settles so that is probably the bigger issue.

  • I just plucked a gray hair. I have a few gray eyebrow hairs that take awhile to come back after plucking, but this is one of the few I have actually seen on my head. If I didn't feel geriatric before, this did the trick. I stopped coloring my hair years ago, but am starting to seriously consider some color, even if it's only semi-permanent. Gah!
