Going to the doctor this afternoon. Which is my chance to go to the mall and Target. They are right there. How Can I not go. My closest Target is 45 min away. Seriously.
Happiness.
My moms on her way over right now so we can all go to target. My son even loves it so that on weekends when I ask him what he wants to do his answer is usually “go to target” hahaha
I decided to do a little ThredUp maternity shopping (their selection SUCKS btw) and added a couple of things to my cart, went to pay, and I apparently had credit from sending clothes in like 2 years ago. Free stuff? SCORE!
Just got back to the office from my ultrasound and everything is GOOD!! She checked my cervix, ovaries, measured a few things and she couldn't pinpoint a reason for the mild spotting or cramping. She is going to send the results to my doctor, and a nurse will call me with the 'results', but from what she could tell the baby is healthy. I'm 8w today based on LMP and O date, but measuring 7w5d, but she said they'd probably keep my due date of 8/31 at this point. HR was at 158 and we even got a few pictures to take home. Phew. I can now breathe easy and I just hope the cramping starts to let up soon! Thank you ladies for all the positive thoughts, much appreciated!!
I had no time for bumping yesterday. US maternity leave is an absolute joke, I had to use my sick days for the 6 weeks paid, took the other 6 weeks unpaid for fmla, and then it was summer vacation. (I used to teach). I ended up resigning to stay home which I sometimes regret, but here I am. I would have had no sick days if DS got sick. DH has what I call his cushy government job, so he has plenty of sick leave and PTO saves up he can take, just needs it approved in advance.
So my boss just told me he would be willing to let me work from home 2 days a week after baby comes. He brought it up, not me. I otherwise have been seriously considering (basically 99.9 percent certain) that I was going to be a SAHM. Guys. I am just like...I have so much to think about. Wow.
I am in that awkward in between stage where I am pretty sure I "popped" this week and since Monday I do not want to wear normal pants - they no longer button at the top, and mat pants are falling down around my thighs/butt. Ugh, I look frumpy no matter what I wear basically. I have two bella bands or whatever they are called, one white and one black - wore the black one once this pregnancy then lost it. I refuse to buy another for my last pregnancy, especially having made it to 12 weeks. Anyway now that the bump is starting I wish it would just fully be here so that it's obvious I'm pregnant and so that my mat pants start staying up. *end rant*

Blah. I'm with you here. I hate this stage where you don't really look pregnant but you are noticeably larger and nothing fits right. I'm wearing maternity jeans today that are too big on me and a huge red sweater that is extra baggy. I look total 90s grunge and I have NEVER been a grunge fan. I feel so...yuck.
My pants feel like I just ate a huge Thanksgiving meal... except that I'm still hungry. I hate this in between stage. I haven't put on maternity pants yet. I've just been doing the belly band and occasionally unbuttoning my pants. Bleh.
I just went shopping and hit Target and Ross. Neither had any pants that would remotely fit me. There was one pair at Target I liked, but they were about 4 inches too long. They have a pair online that I think I want, but their sizing is REALLY weird. The jeans come in standard 2, 4, 6, etc. sizes, but then they give a hip measurement in parenthesis that doesn't line up with the sizes at all. My 35/36 inch hip would be a size 10? That doesn't seem right, and my local Target doesn't carry Liz Lange in store that I can try on for comparison. I'll probably just buy them and return them if I have to, they're cheap anyway. I HATE PANTS SHOPPING! I got a cute new purse and a belly band, though, so the trip wasn't totally wasted.

90% of my day has been spent talking football with my husband, my dad, my mom and my neighbors. Huge patriots fan and Brady being listed as questionable is concerning to say the least. At least football drama is keeping my mind off the baby drama ha. Hubby is a Vikings fan and the kiddo is an eagles fan so we all have a shot at the Super Bowl! So excited for Sunday!
So it just came up in my FB news feed that my two least favorite celebrities of all time, Kim & Kanye, named their new daughter Chicago. EYEROLL. North, Saint, and Chicago. WTF.
@dirtanddiamonds @calimom2524 I've done hemming before, but not every pant can be hemmed and still look right. Straight leg definitely hem the best, but anything with details at the bottom or a heavy taper looks really weird. The narrowest part of the leg meant for the knee frequently hits me mid calf, and that always looks off. I can hem an inch or two, no sweat, but 4 inches gets into a hairier situation. I'm hoping it isn't my last resort.

@lolog531 So glad to hear everything is good! Positive updates are great!
@calimom2524 Ugh. That's just dumb. Then again, I'm not a fan of places as names. (UO?)
I made a huge bowl of pasta on Tuesday because H went out of town and I didn't want to cook the rest of the week. I've been eating it for 3 days now and I'm really sick of it - How do those people who meal prep one thing the entire week do it??
@calimom2524 I jokingly told my mom that I'm naming my baby whatever they name their baby, and she texted me as soon as she heard the news (she knows I'm joking, but she thinks it's funny).
I'm getting a little emotional cleaning my bathroom because I have my show tunes playlist going and I remembered listening to musicals and singing with my mom as we cleaned when I was little, which led to me being heavily involved in theater in high school and college, and I'm excited to sing show tunes with my little munchkin.

@calimom2524 my DH's response was "are they trying to start a neighborhood? I'm from North Saint Chicago." I lol-ed.
Going shopping with my mom and sister tomorrow and need to find clothes for a semi business trip/vacation in Vancouver when I will be ~20 weeks. Trying not to drop too much money now since I don't really know how big I will be, but my mom is not in town very often and it's fun to start thinking about!
Eurgh DS bit a kid at daycare today. We were having issues with it a few months ago but it stopped. And today I guess he but the girl badly. It’s awful, I feel so guilty and it’s embarassing to boot. I guess he likes to bite this soft leather part of a piece of furniture there (idk) and her arm was there today and he bit it, it’s not that he did it because he was angry or upset. So praying it was a once off. I wish he could talk and express himself properly!!
@ecwk my son was the biter FOREVER at school. Literally, forever. He did it because he couldn't express himself. It was terrible and so embarrassing. He isn't exactly behind in speech, but he was born in October, so he's a lot younger than a lot of the kids in his class. They moved him up to Pre K before he was even 3, and the biting got really bad. Those teachers, IMO, weren't watching the kids close enough. I had a big Come to Jesus meeting with the director and we put my son back in the 2s class, which was a Godsend. He is much better in there and he's actually been bitten (not the one biting) so I kind of chuckle now because now he knows how it feels. That sounds mean, but when you've been on the other side, you feel so helpless. I totally understand how you feel!
Ugh. Them naming their child Chicago irks me. I’m from northern IL and loved in Chicago for a few years and they just tainted my favorite city. Boo to Kanye and Kim.
@ecwk sorry about the biting! Hopefully he will grow out of it as I know most do. DS was never a biter, but there were a few in his last classroom and he was the receiver quite a few times. Even though I was never happy he got bit, I always empathized with the biters parents because I knew it Couldn’t be an easy thing to try and handle. Hugs lady!!!

Their kids' names all sound like subway stops in the world's worst city.
I mean, I’m from a northwest suburb so I guess there could be worse things than North Chicago but like...as a name? I just don’t get it. It might be worse than Apple.
@lolog531 so glad to hear about the happy update!! @cthulu fingers crossed for you too! So glad they ordered betas so you get answers sooner!
Thank you all for the concern and good vibes!!! I meant to update between the U/S and work, but the appointment ran way over and I ended up 40 minutes late to work
Things still look okay, but they discovered a (new?) fairly large SCH that is apparently the culprit of the spotting. Still not sure on the cramping but I'm sure it's partially just things shifting. Baby looked good though! 152BPM heartbeat and measuring ahead of the last U/S by an additional 2 days. So now they've moved me to July 28 to split the difference. Eeep!
