@ecwk No problem! I just wish people who added themselves didn't change the basic formatting. I'm getting tired of having to put the titles back in the columns and add/remove rows everywhere.

Probably not the wisest idea but we've booked a vacation to the Outerbanks at the end of August. Since I'm due at the beginning of the month and #3 will be a few weeks old by then, we're rolling with it.

I may regret this decision.
You may not, though! After #2 I was back to regular family stuff in like 3 days. I took a trip from Texas to CA when DS2 was around 4 weeks old and I loved every minute of it. Newborns seem SO easy compared to toddlers, it might be a nice place to relax and spend time with your family while you adjust to a new normal.
@monalisavito We've also talked about going to the Outer Banks while I'm on maternity leave. We're not booking anything since I'm not due until the end of August and hopefully there will be plenty of options in the off season. But we've gone every summer for the last few years and if we have family with us I think we'll be fine with a newborn.
I have a big work party/event Friday and have just realized that all my business-y dresses are fairly form fitting. Think everyone will think I'm just getting fat? I told my boss this week and am planning on going public this weekend (will be 11 weeks and have a ton of things to schedule with work/family that I need everyone to know for), but I would really like to get through this event without all my coworkers knowing. Just a perfect opportunity for everyone to give me their opinions on my pregnancy that I would very much like to avoid. People in academic medicine can be pretty rude about the way they think everyone should prioritize their jobs above everything else.
FX that I can pull off this cherade at one more event please!
So I have an employee that is paid through a temp agency. I've asked him multiple times if he wants to come on staff because he's a good employee. He's been up front with me that he hasn't come on staff because we drug test and he smokes. It's legal here so I get it. However, he's now mad at me that he didn't get holiday pay for Christmas and New Year's and he isn't happy with my explanation that that is a company offered benefit and technically he is not employed by our company but by the temp agency. That's on you bro!!! I tried to bring you on but you need pot more than this job apparently. UGH I'm just frustrated. Sorry, there was really no other thread to put this on.
@laufisch We've gotten one wedding announcement for the summer - it's my cousin and he's getting married on 8.18 - which is the day before my due date. I, of course, won't be attending - not sure about my dad and brothers.
I opened the intro thread the other day to make the number go away (OCD much?) and was like whoa hello pages and pages of people I have not seen post elsewhere.

@F47 I took her on the tame rides, usually in the carrier. She was asleep on me when we boarded the Frozen ride and she slept through the whole thing, even the big drop, and even though it was insanely loud. She also slept through the entire safari at animal kingdom.
We have a time share so we stayed in a 2br suite. DH and the baby and I were in the master and my mom and DD1 were in the other bedroom so the wake ups didn't bother them.
@F47 Yellowstone is a 12 hour drive from us, so I think I should be able to make it if everything goes smoothly. I'll just have DH drive, and recline the passenger seat. I might bring a car seat, just in case we come home with an extra passenger!
I'm excited to have just bought 48 pocket diapers plus inserts, washcloths, 9 wet bags, and some other accessories for $150 on Craigslist! Score!

I’m trying not to be a lurker but I’m a total introvert in real life too and don’t jump into conversations. But at least I haven’t posted an ultrasound pic lol?
@doctormom33 Maybe you get yourself a new dress? Shift dresses always kinda help me cover the poof. And....any excuse for a new dress right?
@legallykate Seriously! Who are all those people on the intro thread? Like....why intro yourself and then never say anything else? Are you reading this? Feel free to talk, that's kinda the point of a forum.
@calimom2524@melbel0824 we are actually going with two other families so there will be plenty of adults around. I've never been one to stay home cooped up after my babies are born and I really didn't want to miss the opportunity to just hang out at the beach with friends and the kiddos.
If anything, the house we rented is a block from the beach and has a pool so I can stick close to the house while still keeping cool.
And eating alllll the watermelon! I know it's still in stores during the winter but it's so much better in the summer.

Don't be be afraid to join in! Otherwise we won't be able to get to know you!
@livinthesunnylife if I could make it to the store before work on Friday, but that would be a miracle. Haven't made it home before 7 all week and ended up called in this last weekend. I'm going shopping with my mom on Saturday (and planning on splurging a bit!) but will be too late for this event. Going to try on things that I already have tonight. Maybe I will end up with blumpy HDBD pic out of my fashion show!
@doctormom33 Been there, overnighted a dress way too often when I haven't had time to go shopping. And anymore I feel like the easiest shopping is on the internet anyway because trying things on with a kid running around the dressing room doesn't work.
Speaking of knitting, any other knit bugs around here? Got projects you're working on? Pics?
I've been working on a baby blanket since my last pregnancy, but with the exhaustion of late and the fact that knitting is soothing me to sleep, I'm not making as much progress as I'd hoped by this point. It's smaller yarn than I'm used to working with and the pattern is a lot of different alternating stitches, so it feels like a lot of work and not much visible progress. Heh
@hardlyhannah I love all the goofy holiday stuff! That's so fun!
I only shy away from things that over sexualize the littles (mostly Valentine's Day). No "watch out ladies" type stuff for my little man. Let them be little!
@neeraja_k *slowly raises hand* Hence the username. Currently working on a custom fitted sweater dress for my mom. It was supposed to be here Christmas present. Oops. I also have a baby blanket that I started almost 3 years ago when I was pregnant with my first. I have yet to finish it. I'm the queen of unfinished projects.

@livinthesunnylife This probably belongs in UO, but I feel that way about little girls in bikinis. I know it's innocent, but there is something really odd to me about a little girl wearing a bra top to accentuate her chest. I'd honestly be much more ok with a topless female child than one in a bra/bikini top.

Is it just me or does it seem like we have an abnormal level of people that cannot follow directions and just rudely barge in? I don't remember there being this many.

@derbysquirrel I totally agree. And seriously, sun protection people! I cover as much skin as I can. He's got a zip up one piece swim shirt and shorts.
From my past BMB it just got weirder as time went on. You get to know most of the regulars and then random people drop in with "is this my mucus plug?" pictures. SO WEIRD. The interwebs is a strange place.
@delujm0 I LOLed at your lap comment. Also heck yeah enjoy the shit out of that rental! I love it when my parents book a "cottage" for a week because their definition of cottage is way different from mine. Lakefront anyone? Yes please!
Regarding the spreadsheet, big thank you to @princesslockness for managing that. It's got to be annoying when people mess with the formatting. I'm still waiting for my first ob appt. to be added. Also, another BMB I can't remember which eventually wiped out the non posters to make it more manageable. Im echoing others on the where are these people now and why do they want to intro/ be added to a spreadsheet?
