Love that movie! Anyway I was meant to host a play date at my house today since we have no school but after a brutal night DS woke up with conjunctivitis so taking him to the doctor instead
@ecwk - oh no! Poor baby! I hope he feels better soon!
I was mostly lurking and love-iting this weekend. My whole house has a nasty cold. Ugh. Thank goodness for the Nose Frida - FTMs, as gross as it seems, you need this little thing in your lives! Those bulb syringes just don't get the job done!

Agreed! Fair warning tho.. your kid will scream bloody murder when you use it.

@ecwk oh no! Sorry LO is sick. We were sick all fall so I've been going around like a crazy person trying to keep everyone healthy. Most of our town is sick
Tomorrow is my wedding anniversary and we have a sitter for a few hours in the afternoon. Looking for something fun to do, probably just go out to eat because we never do that lol.

I second this!! When I received one at my baby shower I thought it was disgusting and really questioned if I’d use it. Fast forward to the first time LO had some congestion and I was singing that thing’s praises! Lol
We have people from the district office coming to visit our school tomorrow, so I need to break out the jazz hands. The math unit I just finished was really short, so I'm making a mystery project for my class to do- they have to solve math problems to get the clues to solve the mystery. It's actually going to be fairly simple to make, just time consuming and I'd really rather be sleeping.

I told my manager about the baby on Friday during my annual review and she was super excited for me! I told the rest of my team this morning and they are equally as excited! However, a team member pulled me aside a bit later and let me know she is 5 weeks along and just found out last week! It's her first, so she is really nervous, but I told her I'd keep it quiet until she was ready to say anything. I have a feeling my manager may have a slight freak out when she finds out though! I'm due 8/31, co-worker is 9/20. 2 of us out on maternity leave at the same time is going to throw things off a bit!! I'm not letting myself worry about it too much, because such is life and I get 12 weeks off full pay and I want to enjoy it!
@lolog531 Don't let it worry you at all! It will be hard for your manager but it's a short amount of time in the big picture. Remember that the 12 week maternity leave is for your and your babies HEALTH! You need that time to recover and get situated. Really, 12 weeks is nothing and they're still soooo little at that age. So, be sure to not just enjoy it (it really is a beautiful bonding time) but also remember that it's very important for both of your well being.
Thanks y'all. We got eye drops for him which are a PITA but thankfully he can go to daycare tomorrow because I really don't want to have to take off work. Another vote in favour of the nose Frieda. That thing is a life saver!! Good luck @jsnakehole!
I am having a very weird day so far. My blood sugar has been a rollercoaster today, and I can't figure out why. It went from super low for me <60, to >120, which is also super high for me. I typically average between 80-115. If I wasn't trying to avoid the GTT before 20 weeks, I would have thought I was having some other type of episode.

@westphilly thank you!! I only got 8 weeks with DS and minimal pay through short term disability, so I am looking forward to a full 12 weeks his time and not having to worry as much about the money aspect! It’s such an important time, and I refuse to compromise any of that, or worry the whole time I’m off. I’ve had a few rough patches with my Manager (she was promoted into the position last summer) and I’m just hoping she doesn’t make me feel guilty somehow.
I came over to my moms house to hang out since I forgot it’s mlk day so no school. Last week she got my son this big construction set so I had to set that up for him to play with and I think that was my energy allotment for the day. That thing was a pain in the booty to get put together lol
Daycare was still open so we threw DS there and me and hubby went and bought a King bed! I’m so excited I have wanted one for years. I guess it took me getting knocked up for him to finally relent because of the thought of us all potentially squashed in there sometimes.
DH and I got invited to a wedding out of state, but it's the same day as my SIL's shower. I'm not sure what to do. I know my SIL won't be at my shower, since her baby is due the month before. It'll also probably be mine and DH's last chance at going away (aside from our nephew's bar mitzvah in May) before our baby comes. There's going to be about 80 people at my SIL's shower, so I feel like I won't be missed. Honestly, I'd prefer to go to the wedding (even though I can't drink, I can still dance and eat!). And it's not like we wouldn't be getting an awesome gift for my niece anyway.

@jsnakehole could you have your DH bring it up with her? Frame it as though it's his desire to go to the wedding so unfortunately he'll be stealing you away from the shower? Either way, hope she understands, especially where there will be a big crowd...I know I would!
@ecwk I feel like my brother and SIL won't really care, and they'll understand wanting a weekend away before the baby comes. My mother is going to be a real pain about it- and she's always finding a reason to be mad at MH (during Thanksgiving it was because he wouldn't go to the bakery and pick up a pie when we had a million and one things to do before we drove the whole family out to my older brother's for the actual dinner) . I may lie and say we already RSVP'd yes to the wedding before we knew the exact date of the shower.

I was eating so well today, and then my coworker brought back hot and fresh donuts from the local donut shop. My afternoon snack was going to be grapes.... they're still sadly sitting in the fridge and my belly is full of DONUTS! I really must get more active on that Fit Mom board... and probably follow through and get back into my workouts too.
@westphilly Well, that's a good excuse. How can you say no to fresh donuts?

Just got the notice that school is closed tomorrow!! We Houston-ians don't drive very well on icy roads so I guess school decided it was better if they just shut it all down. So excited!!!
DS has been fevering yesterday and today and it just got up to 105.4 at the end of his ibuprofen dose ☹️ I have a call in to see what they want me to do. I hate seeing him this sick. Thankfully the new dose already had it down to 105.1 but it’s still freaking me out

DD is sleeping through the night. My goodness I'm just ecstatic. She's two in February and was waking up every 3-4 hours just last month. My body still wakes up but I think that will change soon. I have not had more than 5 hours of sleep in over two years. Happy dance!
I so had a doughnut last week.
@hardlyhannah I hope your little one feels better soon! t is so scary and stressful when they are sick. Hang in there, hugs.
@hardlyhannah I hope he feels better. My son spiked a high fever over the summer and they had me alternating ibuprofen and acetaminophen and put him on an antibiotic just in case. I took him to the walk in because this kid never gets that sick. Hopefully they get back to you soon!
Thanks ladies! The doctor didn’t believe my thermometer (ear one) and told me to just keep medicating and keep an eye on it and if it gets that high again tomorrow we should take him in otherwise just keep him comfy. Hoping it breaks overnight tonight. I might give Tylenol just before bed because his ibu dose was at 5:30 which won’t get him through

@hardlyhannah I’m so sorry because I know how scary that is...we just went through this with my daughter and it was terrible! I can’t wait for flu season to end.
@dirtanddiamonds probably because yesterday was MLK day which is a holiday in the US...lots of people had the day off of work. There is usually more activity when people are working and screwing around on the Internet than there is on weekends and holidays.
@dirtanddiamonds It's always less busy on the weekends. I think it was changed to Murder Monday lol. Anyone can start the threads though so if you notice one hasn't been done, go ahead!
TMI warning...possibly? TW too (bleeding - not serious)
I thought my yeast infection had gone but it came back. I called the office yesterday to ask for advice and the midwife said it was safe to use 7 day Monistat. So I use the applicator last night before bed and when I pull it out there is bright red blood, and not just a little bit. Also on the paper when I wipe. Minor freak out but I am assuming I just irritated myself in there since everything is extra sensitive. The blood went away quickly and there is none now. I was going to call but I guess I don't see the need now because there is no pain, cramping or and subsequent bleeding. Made me so scared though!! WWYD?

This sounds awesome! I've been toying with the idea of doing an escape-room type project in math but haven't planned it out yet. I'm sure your kids will love this!
I’m so sorry to everyone who’s been sick. I finally feel somewhat human again after 3 weeks of constant illness. Now if this nausea & vomiting would go away I might actually feel normal.
My OB was supposed to call in a Rx on Friday, but the office closed early d/t inclement weather. It supposedly was called in yesterday, but my pharmacy never got it. The OB’s secretary said she resent it, so we’ll see. If I can’t go pick it up after DS gets on the bus I’m going to scream. Last night DH’s dog farted beside me, and I didn’t even have time to run to the bathroom. I spent the next hour throwing up. It’s like I can’t stop once I start. I even game my PT job my notice because I can’t deal with the food smells in the restaurant while I’m working in the office.
