@JamieH2000 OMG starting already?? Are you the first from this board to start? @laurad75 Obviously I will be happy/satisfied/overjoyed/lucky and etc to get to transfer anything and have anything stick, but from time to time I get nervous about the possibility of multiples. I'm even older and still working with these old azz eggs so they want to transfer no less than 2 (which I'm down with). But again, I think... yeah if some miracle of all miracles happens and 2 stick its kinda scary. One at a time sounds about right
@dragonette505- Yes, did my first lurpon last night! Baseline in a week, and then donor starts stims in 2 weeks. Estimated transfer around 10/31ish, so I may technically end up in October, but figured I'd join Nov since most of the Oct ladies will be done by then! Lots of steps still to complete, and I always seem to have heartbreaking delays, so really hoping this calendar holds!

@JamieH2000 No, I know (ive been following your story in the DE thread)...Its hard enough through infertility to try to trust your own body, and then to have to also rely upon someone else's... extra nerve wracking!! Ive got everything super crossed for you!! I def think youre in the right spot... most of us are sort of just in the neighborhood of November
@safire3 - I'm so excited for your FET! But also so nervous - I'm hoping you have some super-strong embies waiting!
@laurad75 - welcome, lady! Haven't seen you in a while... I think you were around when I was first on these boards? Here's hoping that I will be around when you finish with the boards!
@JamieH2000 - OMG, if my donor turned out to be pregnant at baseline, I would be SO upset. But hoping this next donor turns out much better, and excited for your transfer! xoxo Hoping this is the one! The BFP you've been waiting for!!
@sunnyrain2 - welcome! What a long road you've had too! Keeping FX for you that this November transfer is the one, and that your journey for #2 is a little less arduous than the one for DD.
@adirat - YEY! Great news!!!! Sending lots of good vibes to your embies! I was a mess until Day 6, because 3 of my embies pulled through at day 6. Day 5 was ROUGH.
@BusinessWife - hahaha, I have done the estimated due date calculations too! I keep telling myself not to, but I cannot help it! And also - I too am really pleased with this FET board - what a nice group of women! It's way, way more fun when these threads are active!
@dragonette505 - I go back and forth about twins all the time.
Twins run in my family, so when I was younger, I thought a lot about that possibility. And then we were IF and it was like: "Oh, there's an even higher possibility." Sometimes it seems really exciting to me - this journey has been so so awful that I think: "would be nice to just have 2 at once and get it over with!" like, end my IF procedures for good...
But then I think about how high-risk a twin pregnancy is, how terrifying it would be to deliver prematurely, and how exhausted all my friends with newborns are - what would it be like to have 2 newborns?! And I think: "Absolutely not, we are not going to transfer 2 at a time."
Gah!
AFM: I will know more about my schedule tomorrow/this afternoon. Going in for the surgery today! I'm excited but also nervous!
Hi all, my FET should be at the very end of October, so like a couple of others, I'm jumping in here and the October FET, if that's ok. Also I know a bunch of you from other boards so I want to follow your journeys anyway! AFM I'm 34 and our diagnosed problem is low motility. We've been trying for over two years now--I think 30 cycles? I've lost count. We did 6 IUIs over the course of the last year--three before and three after DH started clomid. Our first IVF cycle was completed in August. We had three embryos make it to blast, and did a fresh transfer with the best--BFN. Two more on ice right now, with the intention of transferring one for the FET. Just waiting for AF, who I expect next week, and we'll get this cycle started!
@adirat CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR 7! I can't wait to hear the final results in just a few days!
@BusinessWife I congratulated you on another thread but I'll do it again because one can never have too many congratulations! So, congratulations! YAY!! Those are great results!
@safire3 I was also interested in how they were going to grow your embies. I didn't know they could unfreeze and refreeze, but that does make sense. Good luck!
@dragonette505 I love that you're on five threads right now. How you keep it all straight is beyond me!
@funkykey DH and I both thought, "Oh twins, that would be fun and we'd be all done." Until I read all the risks and I promptly shut that down, haha. Good luck with your surgery today!
@dragonette505- thanks for the good thoughts! I have seen your journey too and I think you are so strong to go through so many cycles! And now you are finally getting close to FET!! So exciting and I really hope November is the happiest month of the year for all of us You are doing 1 more cycle right?
@funkykey- good luck on the surgery today! I hope they get everything out easily and you can be on your way to FET ASAP! Perhaps we will be transfer buddies I also have the same debate about 1 vs 2! After all the set backs, I'm thinking we will transfer 2, unless we only end up with 2 or 3 emrbyos. I feel like since I am not doing PGS, my clinic will try to dissaube me from 2, but will ultimately let me. two of my good friends (including one who had 12 grade A donor egg embryos) transferred 2 and only 1 stuck. All the costs are starting to add up too, so paying another $3-4k for a second transfer would not be fun either. Aww so much to consider!

@funkykey OMG... if twins run in your fam, you might not get a choice Of course if my choice is 2 or none, I'm going for 2
@Bababatty I just follow them and get notified when there are comments! Makes it easier.... hey, I'm spreadin the love!
@JamieH200 yes! I'm planning to do another go 'round with my next cycle and hoping to transfer then (my clinic isn't a fan of fresh, but I want to try anyway).
@coco305 you have so much coming up! best of luck and I'll be thinking of you. 10/26 is my birthday so I feel like that's a good sign haha.
@adirat tomorrow is day 5! That anticipation is so hard. I can't wait to hear! Hope you had a somewhat relaxing weekend.
@tinjp78 I LOVE your attitude. @JamieH2000 is exactly right....it only takes one. I think we get in to this numbers game and read so much online about odds talk ourselves out of the fact that we are doing a TRANSFER. The time has finally come.
Question for everyone.... how many are you going to transfer and how did you decide? I was animate from the start that I was going to transfer 2. The doctor was advising against it. I had this moment where I felt peace just transferring one. I completely changed my mind. Two hours later, we got the embryo report and there were 3 frozen embryos. I'm so happy about that but one at a time made more sense with a number that was lower than the day before.
Me: 36 DH: 33

IVF August 2017 25 eggs retrieved, 19 mature, 13 fertilized (ICSI), 5 frozen, 3 PGS normal
FET November 2017 Transferred one 6 day blast (a little GIRL) BFP EDD 8/4/18
@irisheyes81 I did a double take at your post -- I think Wednesday is my Day 5? Is that right? The retrieval is Day 0, right? Geez now I am so confused!
FWIW, we are confident we will only transfer one at a time. (tw for loss) Our reasoning isn't applicable to most people I assume... for us, PGD is only 90-95% effective, and what would we do if we had put in two and one was affected and one didn't? What if I lost both because one wasn't healthy? I could never live with that. I get the appeal and certainly I get the fear of a BFN, but I would be so much more scared of a late-term problem.
My RE will only allow you to put in 1 on your first transfer. If the first doesn't take, I think I will try to do an ERA or something before transferring another.
I have my FET scheduled for November 7. I start Lupron tomorrow, so I'm vacillating between being excited that it's finally starting and dreading that I'm embarking on 6+ weeks of injections.
Hope everyone's doing well so far...

adirat OMG you're obviously right. It's Wednesday! I am terrible at math (counting to 5 isn't math, I know). Man! I was so hoping it was tomorrow. So soon though! You and @BusinessWife are the best at memes.
@irisheyes81 I think that day will bring me luck too! Thank you for the good wishes! @amy8686 welcome! My transfer date is 10/26 and I'm on day 9 of lupron. It's not as bad as the stim meds, although I've had my moments. @BusinessWife what is eSET?
Regarding the # to transfer, DH and I want to transfer 2. But honestly we haven't talked to the doc about this yet. Sometimes I feel so far removed from the process, other days I feel like it's all I think about. There's so much starting and stopping that it's hard too know when to focus
Also, I'm sorry if I missed anyone or I do t respond back. I'm still pretty new and a little overwhelmed with all this activity! But I'm happy to be part of this group and getting to know you all! I'll get with it soon, I promise. ❤️
@coco305 eSET is FET, but specifically, elective single embryo transfer. ;) If you're new to the boards, it can feel a little overwhelming, but don't worry if you can't respond to EVERYONE every time. Totally not required. B)
@Irisheyes81 We'll be transferring two embryos because that's what we have, if I had three we would transfer three. We've always transferred two, except once when I only had one frozen embryo. I'm 39 and have had two failed transfers (two embryos each) this year already so my RE would have been ok transferring three, if we had that many.

@Irisheyes81 - good, thank you!! I'm through it and resting! I'm going to call the clinic tomorrow to discuss next steps and then I will post more... I'm hoping I'll have more of an update re: my FET.
I've been running through all the things I think they'll tell me, aided by Dr. Google. Really hoping I will get to transfer on (or around) Nov. 6th, and curious about how much the FET will cost, given that it was a medical freeze all.
I might have to buy more meds too - I bought all the estrace and progesterone when I thought I was going to have a fresh transfer, but I might have to go back in and buy some of this lupron (or whatever they choose to give me) too.
My H and I met and went on our first date in early November a few years ago. Would be really nice if the FET happens around that time too!
@funkykey. I'm getting excited and sentimental for November too. I remember going through some tough chapters, making some big decisions, and having that GNR song, November Rain, as my anthem lol. "Nothing lasts forever" etc. So maybe IF can be our cold November Rain that finally comes to an end... ;)
@funkykey I'm glad everything went well! Hoping you can get this show on the road now! Welcome @amy8686! Yayy @Bababatty! I'm glad you will be joining us here too!
I'm trying so hard not to keep thinking about every reason why November is the perfect month because I don't want t get my hopes up so high so long in advance but my DHs Birthday is November 10th so I can't help thinking what a wonderful birthday present it would be for him. I would be only 6 days post transfer by then though.
I start art Lupron tomorrow so I guess that is one step closer to transfer. My Lupron is once daily in the morning. I messaged the clinic to ask if I could take it at night and they said no. I'm scared of having headaches all day at work. For those on Lupron does anyone take it at night?
@BusinessWife and @adirat Awww thank you! I would have lurked this board anyway, but I'm happy the timing puts me right on the cusp to participate here, too. Looking forward to going through the process with you!
@Irisheyes81 We're transferring 1 because I'm 34 and my doctor was pretty adamant that I was too young to look seriously at 2. That said, if this one doesn't take it would be our 2nd failed transfer, at which point he would want to be more aggressive and would ideally transfer 2 (we've only got one left after this one, though, so that would necessitate another IVF cycle). I'm with @adirat that if this fails I'm asking about ERA.
Is everyone on lupron before FET? My doc never mentioned that to me...I think he said it would just be estrogen to build up lining. I was so excited that injections were over!
@bababatty That's helpful to know. My RE gave me two options for FET -- estrogen to build up lining followed by progesterone, or a medicated cycle with letrozole (TTA around ovulation) with trigger and FET at day 5. Since I have a luteal phase defect, he recommended the former as more likely to work, which sounded good to me.
It's pretty remarkable to me how many different protocols there are for all these things (stims, transfer, everything).
Whether you are on Lupron or only estrogen and progesterone, those are both medicated cycles. An unmedicated or natural cycle is when they follow your natural cycle and transfer after you ovulate, no extra meds. Many clinics don't do natural cycles due to scheduling.
The estrogen mimics the rise in hormones your body would produce in a cycle and the progesterone would be created by the corpus lutem, if you ovulated. Some REs will have you cycle clomid or letrazole to simulate a cycle as well, generally no estrogen since the developing follicle will create it. Progesterone can be prescribed for additional support. Lupron or an antagonist may be used as well for scheduling.
Lupron suppress ovulation and follicular development if no other stimulating meds are taken. It creates a LH surge in the Pituitary then suppresses LH which is why it's typically started after you ovulate the cycle prior to FET or IVF, it takes time to work. Estrogen and progesterone are needed for a Lupron FET.
if you need Lupron, go through Walmart or Walgreens and use the GoodRx coupon, much cheaper that way ($188vs$500+) for cash paying customers

@amy8686 Transfers can be nerve wracking.... glad to have you on board!!
@coco305 I hear you with the starting and stopping... also I think from clinic to clinic and based on age and other factors sometimes it feels we don't have the choice all to ourselves
@sunnyrain2 at my age they would transfer 4, but that scares me a bit
@funkykey hoping you get some sort of discount, but the cost of FET is usually much lower than what we've been spending on IVF's.
@BusinessWife lol loving the soundtrack for November.... I'm just imagining how awesome it would be to finally be pregnant for a holiday!
@adirat With my last FET I didn't do Lupron... just waited to O then they still made me trigger (why???) and then progesterone and estrogen
@Irisheyes81 I'm hoping to transfer 2. TW* last time I transferred 2 and only 1 stuck (later miscarried) So I feel like 2 is a good place for me.
guuuuiiisseee...... So I just had my appointment with my scheduling nurse for my upcoming cycle....
yaaaall.....
why did this nurse tell me my doc saw a polyp when she did my water sono after retrieval?????? WHY THEY NO TELL ME DIS BEFORE??????
I am still currently (*currently*) scheduled to do either a day 3 or 5 transfer this upcoming cycle. but WATCH that woman snatch me back to a freeze all
@dragonette505- NOOOO! What?! They just saw a polyp today? Are they sure?! do they need the RE to look at the US first?
@safire3- that is interesting they want you to take it the morning.. my clinic has us take it in the evening. I wonder what their reasoning is and why it matters what time of day as long as its every 24 hours?
Loving all the activity on this board even tho we are still 4 weeks from Nov! It will help the time past fast!

@dragonette505 - really is worst news. Your gifs are perfect.
AFM: Spoke to my clinic - I'll just be on estrogen and progesterone (I only have to buy some progesterone injections), and looks right now like we'll do the transfer Nov 14- but it depends on CD1, which may be a little late because of yesterday's surgery. It was a polyp but there was also what they described as a "thickened area", so they did some D&C work too, apparently. Ugh.
The other thing I'm waiting on is for the team who did the procedure to say it's ok for me to start next cycle. So waiting for CD1 and confirmation on that now.
@dragonette505 - still reeling from your news. Ugh! Really hoping you have no more delays... Like, haven't you been through enough?!
A small vent from me, Ladies.
So, earlier today, I found a small piece of tissue on one of the pads I'm using in my underwear. I know - that is a lot of information, and I wouldn't usually share it, but just wanted to set you up with the kind of day I'm having. I'm so hopeful for the future and the next couple of months, but I still have little pieces of my uterus (not a period blod clot - the ACTUAL UTERUS) floating around/coming out of me.
Then I get an email. A woman I went to elementary school with, she and I had a falling out earlier this year. I'd confided in her about the problems we were having to conceive - I've been very private about it - and there I am, about 18 months in, actively undergoing treatments, and she goes: "Have you thought about being more submissive in bed? Maybe if your DH were a little more aggressive, you'd be KU-ed?"
I (obviously) reamed her out. I was like: "WTF?!" and told her what she was saying was ignorant, etc etc.
Anyway, fast forward to today - she had her IUI out recently and now she's pregnant, she just wanted to let me know. Probably after 2-3 months of trying.
IF and all the treatments are f*cking sh*tty. It's soooooo UNFAIR.
I mean, after I got so mad and explained it to her, she apologized, said she hadn't been thinking, etc. Even though I'm not quite over it yet, I'm sure eventually we will make up - we've been friends for a long time. And she's really into animal behaviour - she keeps horses and chickens and dogs, so it's not totally out of left field that she thinks a lot about "dominance".
But still... It kind of stings that she actually thought that, said it, and now is pregnant so easily. I need a day to process this, you know?
Re: November FET
@laurad75 Obviously I will be happy/satisfied/overjoyed/lucky and etc to get to transfer anything and have anything stick, but from time to time I get nervous about the possibility of multiples. I'm even older and still working with these old azz eggs so they want to transfer no less than 2 (which I'm down with). But again, I think... yeah if some miracle of all miracles happens and 2 stick its kinda scary. One at a time sounds about right

Back for # 2!
Amy

@Amy8686. Welcome! Will this be your first transfer cycle?
We are doing eSET. My doctor seemed pretty strongly about that.
This FET group is so great!
Welcome @amy8686!
@amy8686 welcome! My transfer date is 10/26 and I'm on day 9 of lupron. It's not as bad as the stim meds, although I've had my moments.
@BusinessWife what is eSET?
Regarding the # to transfer, DH and I want to transfer 2. But honestly we haven't talked to the doc about this yet. Sometimes I feel so far removed from the process, other days I feel like it's all I think about. There's so much starting and stopping that it's hard too know when to focus

FET # 3 Nov 2017
It's pretty remarkable to me how many different protocols there are for all these things (stims, transfer, everything).

TW* last time I transferred 2 and only 1 stuck (later miscarried) So I feel like 2 is a good place for me.
yaaaall.....
why did this nurse tell me my doc saw a polyp when she did my water sono after retrieval?????? WHY THEY NO TELL ME DIS BEFORE??????
I am still currently (*currently*) scheduled to do either a day 3 or 5 transfer this upcoming cycle. but WATCH that woman snatch me back to a freeze all
I cant even
@safire3- that is interesting they want you to take it the morning.. my clinic has us take it in the evening. I wonder what their reasoning is and why it matters what time of day as long as its every 24 hours?
Loving all the activity on this board even tho we are still 4 weeks from Nov! It will help the time past fast!

Back for # 2!
@jamieH2000 apparently they saw it DURING MY EGG RETRIEVAL! And I'm just hearing about it!
At least you've got your ute sorted so you can move on... hopefully the docs will confirm youre all set for transfer!!
I literally cant even
I dunno! I guess they had a plan for me and didn't plan to tell me? lol
