@JamieH2000 - haha! I'm so excited for all these AFs to start! Let's get this party started!
AFM: I'm pretty sure I ovulated this morning, so I'm hoping AF will start right on time (in 2 weeks). They told me I could expect it a little bit late though, so I'm not holding my breath.
If all goes well and AF starts on time, my transfer will be around Nov. 15 too! (yey!) but, weirdly, I'm starting to get scared.
So many steps along this journey, something has happened to cause delays. (Eg. I'd planned to do a fresh transfer in July, and here I am.) I think I'm a little bit traumatized - I keep thinking: "what if I don't heal?" or "it's probably not going to take, anyway." I can't even imagine myself being pregnant. I'm dutifully back on the prenatals, but I'm mentally preparing myself more for bad news than for the possibility that I'm going to move ahead with the FET.
I haven't bought ANYTHING for a baby. No onesies, nothing. But I've spent an embarrassing amount of time thinking about nursery furniture and looking at Land of Nod. I keep thinking - I want an awesome stroller (but I want to find one used), I'll go budget on the crib (but not the mattress pad), and then blow the bank on a really nice rocking chair. (DH does not know about this yet, but will be very on side with going budget on the crib and getting a used stroller.)
Anyway, just because I haven't bought, does not mean I haven't spent time planning! LOL!
I cant make heads or tails about why I can transfer if I have a polyp but I'm staying chill till tomorrow... who knows... a whole new problem may crop up... I never count on anything with IVF
Really hoping nothing pops up and this is just the nurse getting files confused.
@funkykey Not that I believe in things working right, but if I O today (or tomorrow) and all the timing works like I think it will, and nothing else c*ck blocks me then I will be transferring that week too!!! I reckon anywhere between Nov 13 and 18!
My nurse (yeah, her again) seems to have me tentatively scheduled for the week of Nov 6 or thereabouts, but shes basing that on me oing a couple days ago and a normal IVF stim schedule which never happens for me. Last cycle the doc didn't have me start stimming till CD 6 or 7 and I stimmed for like 13 days.
@funkykey As for baby shopping... not one thing have I bought. Over the many years ive talked about how I would splurge and how I would save... as time passes and where I am now, I say eff it. I will buy based on what I can afford and if I want it I'm effing getting it. If I get to have a baby, after all this time I getting what I want.... It may be my only chance to go all out so I'm doing it as much as I want... But at the same time, I don't have an appetite to spend a ton on everything, so that will help
@dragonette505 - But at the same time, I don't have an appetite to spend a ton on everything, so that will help
That's good! I imagine in NY, you could do some crazy killer damage. Like, I bet you could find $150 knit booties there, if you looked.
I really like some of the oeuf stuff, for example, but I cannot do it - I just can't bring myself to spend $50 on a novelty knit pillow. Luckily, my MIL knits, so I may ask her to see if she can do something similar as a project. But we'll see.
@dragonette505- I have the same attitude on buying things.. thrifty if possible, but after waiting so long, i will splurge a little if its somehting I really want. I also haven't bought one thing yet either! I guess I'm afraid to curse myself? THen again, I have had about as bad luck as one can have, so maybe i need to buy something to CHANGE my luck?!
@funkykey- I hear you about being scared/waiting for delays... After what happened last month with the donor being pregnant, I am terrified of something going wrong.. like maybe your AFC will be way low or something? I don't know, but after going through so much, sometimes it feels like we will never catch a break. But hopefully we will finally this time.. I have good feelings for all of these ladies and hopefully we can all be buddies on PAIF!
I finally got the legal paper work back from the donor signed, so that is one box checked! Just trying to stay calm and not think about it all too much. Not sure if I mentioned it, but we are doing a little get away to the Smokies in 10 days to see the fall colors. It will be in the middle of the donor stimming, so hopefully it will keep me distracted somewhat!

@funkykey I'm pretty sure if I do get a baby, there will be some things I simply have to have as a NYC mom, (though I have no idea what they are yet) and I'm sure they will be pricey af lol
@jamieh2000 I think its all about landmark hurdles. Once your donor gets to her baseline (and isn't ku!) you will breathe easy for 2 seconds and then start fretting about the next thing (follies, then embies, then your own lining and etc) Theres never a shortage on stuff to have anxiety about!! I am like a million percent certain (in my fears) that tomorrow I will get to my docs and it will all be bad news and delays.... cant help it after all the stuff we've been through
so nice you are going to the smokies! My DH and I are going to drive up the Hudson river valley this weekend and see the leaves changing too!
I understand about just going through the motions and waiting for something to go wrong. I did four transfers for my daughter and by the fourth I was so disconnected. I had stopped supplements, acupuncture, went right back to work after the transfer, etc. At 9dp5dt, or 14dpo, I had AF heavy bleeding with clots and cramps for 5 days, you should have seen my face when the beta came back positive and kept rising. The whole time I was just blah, waiting.... DH did all of the shopping and purchased the obnoxious t-shirts It does get real eventually.
This time around I'm having such a hard time getting invested. This will be our third transfer and the last attempt we'll make for # 2. If it doesn't take we'll potentially be one and done, though DH has talked about becoming a foster parent and maybe we'll revisit adoption again. He's a SAHD and loves children, he'd have a dozen if he could.
I did did all of the new testing my RE requested. A1C is down to 5.7 so that should make all of my doctors happy. The embarrassing part was the EKG with the male nurse since I had to be topless and the pads go all around your breast. I didn't make a deal if it since dude was just doing his job. I'd get upset if someone wouldn't let me do my job due to my gender. I just pretended I had clothes on and we chit chatted through the 5 min it took. I do that a lot, just ignore the discomfort and plow through.

@sunnyrain2 hopefully this works and you don't have to make other plans! After so many cycles I feel like I'm an old hand at having my hoo-ha in the wind for a room full of people... I almost have to remember to show some modesty for the poor doctors and nurses!
@dragonette505 lol about modesty. Anytime I know I'll be having an ultrasound I wear a flowing skirt or dress and put a pair of panties in my bag. When they say from the waist down, I just kick off my shoes and get on the table, no undressing necessary. They ask if they need to leave the room but it's not automatic anymore.

@dragonette505 sorry to hear your nurse is still around and have not been transferred to another dept, hospital or planet yet. Well, for the mean time, this is for you...
@BusinessWife That date looks so great!!! I'm so happy for you and I'm excited for the upcoming events!!! Wooohooo!
@JamieH2000 - After what happened last month with the donor being pregnant, I am terrified of something going wrong..
Just wanted to say, I still cannot believe that happened to you. So crazy! And such a slap in the face!
But yeah, exactly - it feels sometimes like there are delays everywhere, ones that you totally don't expect. And at first when you're TTC, you're like: "Ok, maybe another month." and then you're IF and doing IVF and it's like these constant hurdles. It's hard to not be traumatized and to stay hopeful.
Really hoping your luck is about to change and that it's going to be smooth, smooth sailing from here!
@sunnyrain2 - really hoping this FET works for you too!
Wow, so many familiar names! I’m a still a little surprised to find myself here. We just yesterday (the day before my 40th birthday) got our (somewhat shocking) PGS results from our 4th IVF round in September and have decided to move on to our very first transfer instead of doing a 5th IVF cycle.
I had a day 3 ultrasound and blood drawn this AM, so pending what the blood work says, I’ll take my first Estrace tablet tonight and should things continue to look good (going back weekly), transfer will be on 11/2.
It took me forever to read through - you ladies have been busy! I apologize I may fall behind, but I look forward to following everyone’s journeys!

@dragonette505- was today the day for your meeting with your RE? Cant wait to hear about it!
@artemis618- WOW, what a miracle and blessing with your results! I am starting patches on thursday (hopefully at least), and expected transfer is around 10/31, so we will be cycle buddies
@funkykey- thanks for the kind thoughts! Sometimes, I can't really believe this is my life either... Like maybe we should all get together and write a book or something! I am sure that has been done, but its amazing to me how much of the population has NO idea about IF or what this journey entails. I'm hoping to be brave enough to share my journey publicly if this ever works, to raise awareness. I have found that most people that I share my journey with are blown away at the whole thing, but most particularly that this can happen to someone in their 20s, who is young and healthy generally. I just wish it was treated like any other horrible diagnosis, especially for insurance purposes.

shauna43 HEY! How are you? It's okay not being able to get on much and having to catch up on everything. No worries I got my transfer date of November 16th. They told me November 15th last month and moved it back a day. I got my medication order and calendar today. Man was it overwhelming. I thought stims was crazy! Luckily, my insurance covered most of my FET medication. My insurance has covered literally zero. They didn't even cover the tylenol! For some reason, the Integrity RX pharmacy sent the meds through the insurance and they covered them. Now I'm wondering why freedom fertility didn't try that too for my stim meds! Anyway, it's insane you had OHSS and did another retrieval. I'm such a sissy! I had to do the Hysteroscopy and Sonohystogram and thought I was going to die. I couldn't even go back to work!
sunnyrain2 I love that you wear a skirt and don't mess with the pants situation. That made me laugh out loud.
artemis618 Happy birthday! What amazing news. I love November 2nd. That's an amazing day!!
JamieH2000 I would read every word of your book if you wrote one. It's amazing what people don't know! I do honestly feel lucky that I was over 35 and had a diagnosis because the doctors acted fast. I can't believe your donor got pregnant.

@Irisheyes81 my transfer is nov 10. So we are just a few dats apart yeah it can be overwhelming there's so much to remember! I didn't have ohss lol but I did have 43 eggs. The next I had 29 eggs and ended up with 9 grade AA blasts. That was the best I had ever done. Anyway glad that's over. I have unlimited coverage with 100% coverage on meds and all procedures. But my first ivf was oop so I understand how stressful money can be with this process. My first ivf did the same thing. Tried to charge me for meds but my insurance covered meds ( nothing else tho). I called the insurance myself to find out. How did your ER go?

Ahhhhh I'm so far behind! I'll have to come back to do a better reply to you all. For now:
@artemis618 Welcome to the thread! That is indeed a great birthday present.
@BusinessWife OMG that day seems so auspicious that I'd start painting the nursery now! I like the number 17 anyway but since it's your dad's birthday, that's really special. Eeeeee!!
@Irisheyes81@JamieH2000 hey y'all! Crazy busy day at work and just getting on here! I didn't see that whacko nurse since she only does the scheduling. My lovely monitoring nurse wouldn't let me leave without a hug and big smiles...
so it looks like I still haven't ovulated, but I'm sure it's going to be soon. I'm supposed to go back early next week but I'm gonna go mid week because it'll push back my priming a couple days (it felt like I was on estrogen forever last ivf cycle!) my lining is decent (8.2) and I've got about the same number of antral follicles as last time at this point (9 afc) right now still just waiting for o.... and if you can believe it, I forgot to ask about my polyp!!! Lol I blame my DH because he had to work early and couldn't come with me!
@dragonette505 - right, but - they didn't mention anything? Like, even if you forgot to ask, you'd think they'd mention!
With my polyp, everyone at my clinic knew - I couldn't talk to one nurse or assistant or anyone without them being like: "Now, where are you with the polyp removal, let me check..." Absolutely NO WAY they would have let me prep for an FET.
Really hoping this turns out to be nothing! It's looking that way!
@dragonette505 - right, but my own fresh transfer was cancelled for a polyp. Like, no transfer at all at my clinic, so long as there was a polyp. And I was actively trying to get them to forget about it and just go ahead anyway! (Like: "Come on, doctor. What about the sketchiest looking embryo, can we just give that one a shot?") But maybe different clinics are different?
Anyway, so odd that they would not mention anything! Like, that you would have to remember to ask about it!
This nurse is looking more and more suspicious by the day!
@funkykey my acupuncturist said: these nurses so often speak out of turn. Maybe it was something like that... we shall see. When I remembered I should my doc off an email (after work, lol) so hopefully I hear back tomorrow. I also don't know any clinic who would transfer with uterine issues...
@dragonette505 I hope the doc can give you some info...I don't trust anything that nurse says anymore...
Question: at my cd2 u/s this morning they saw a large hemorrhagic cyst on my right ovary. The nurse said it's from the ivf meds and they need to check my bloodwork before they can officially start me on estrogen for FET. I'm kind of freaking out. Should I be worried?
@adirat The possible cyst is nothing to "worry" about, but in some cases ladies have had to sit out a cycle waiting for a cyst to resolve... hoping that is NOT the case for you! I think it depends on if the cyst is producing hormones... sometimes they do.. it would throw off your cycle possibly. Again... it might just be an old cyst not doing anything, and I think if its dormant it shouldn't matter since you are not doing a stim cycle.
@adirat- I also had a cyst after my last IVF cycle, and unfortunately it was producing hormones and took a while (2 + months to go away on its own). I am really hoping that is not your case, as the limbo was so hard. Prays for good news for you today!
@dragonette505- I think your response to the email was great... I am glad you expressed your frustration. You would think they would be insistent on getting everything ideal if the polyp was really going to cause an issue? I HATE delays, but I would probably go ahead and get it removed just to make sure to not waste any precious embryos. That is nice they could do it during ER.. i feel like most clinics make you do a hysterscopy seperately. Maybe ask about timing for a transfer after they did this? Like could you get your period 10 days or whatever after ER and then start meds or do a natural cycle FET right away after? Then you could get in a transfer before Christmas hopefully? I believe most clinics shut down around Christmas/New Years for holidays/maintenance, but maybe yours doesnt!

@adirat My RE also saw several resolving cysts yesterday morning and said it was “normal” (I guess for after an IVF cycle). Apparently my blood work came back okay as they told me to start estradiol last night. So I guess the blood work ruled between the two. I don’t think you have a reason to worry just yet. They’ll let you know today?

@JamieH2000 I think our clinic is open, but obviously not all docs are around so you might not get your doc... I guess we will just have to see... I'm on the fence. This would be my third removal of something and it just goes on and on... and I'm sure tons of women have "imperfect" uterus's and have babies. I don't think its my ute that's the problem here
Thank you @dragonette505@JamieH2000@artemis618. I appreciate the reassurance. They're supposed to let me know today if the cycle is called off. The nurse told me to start estrogen tonight for FET unless my bloodwork looks bad...I'm really hoping it's just a remnant of egg retrieval!
@artemis618 We really are cycle buddies! I don't have a FET date yet but the nurse estimated Nov 1-3.
@adirat Yup, we were almost ER day buddies (by a day), and xfer day will be close too! I’m slated for 11/2 because...Thursday’s the day when all the doctors are at the main office anyway (where everything is stored and procedures performed).
I’m a little curious about what all I can blame on estradiol side effects

@adirat I don't know much about it but I'm really hoping your blood work comes back perfect and there are no more delays for you.
@dragonette505 you would think that since they know you want to do a fresh transfer they would have mentioned this before. I find it hard to believe something that small can cause significant issues but of course I am no expert. Your response was perfect. I would also ask if it is scat tissue, could it be from your previous procedures and then isn't it possible to create more by removing it?
shauna43 9 is amazing. I can't even imagine! We ended up with 5 but 2 were genetically abnormal. 13 made it to day three so I blame my husband. haha (but seriously). November 10th is a great day! Transfer seems like tomorrow and SO far away. I'll be just 6 days behind you.
dragonette505 What! I mean... WHAT though. They don't even know if there is anything! Why didn't they tell you at the time? I feel like we have to advocate for ourselves so much in this process. It doesn't matter how good the clinic is, these things seem to pop up all the time! Don't most people in nature have at least something in the uterus? That's frustrating. I'm glad you have a sweet nurse that gave you a hug . Your lining looks great! That's weird you didn't O. I feel like you thought you did from temps?
adirat Have you ever had a cyst before? I don't know why they would matter for FET but I also have no idea! These meds do a number on our bodies. I'm on pins and needles for your update
AFM: I start Lupron on 10/22, estrace and estrogen patches on 11/1 and progesterone 11/11. My thyroid is high (4.9) and MUST get lower to transfer. I'm getting it retested Friday to see if that was a fluke and staying on synthroid. Come on thyroid.....
Me: 36 DH: 33
TTC since June 2016
Me: PCOS DH: Morphology 1%
3 TI with Famera and trigger shots-BFN
3 IUI's with Famera and trigger shots- BFN
IVF August 2017 25 eggs retrieved, 19 mature, 13 fertilized (ICSI), 5 frozen, 3 PGS normal
FET November 2017 Transferred one 6 day blast (a little GIRL) BFP EDD 8/4/18
Thanks for the support @irisheyes81@funkykey Fortunately they never called so I guess I'm good to start fet protocol! I'm just on estrace 3x/day for about two weeks...can it really be that easy?
@irisheyes81 How frustrating -- is the thyroid issue new or are you already on synthroid? I take levoxyl for hypothyroid so I feel you...my levels always have to get checked...
@adirat remember when they told me I had a hemmhoragic cyst, plus another LARGE cyst, and my doctor was 1. Totally unphased 2. BW came back normal 3. We were cleared to repeat the stimms and 4. They appear to have resolved on their own. <img alt="" src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5020794/uploads/editor/kg/dbbsozsq6tzp.gif"> Do you have an FET date??????????????? Omg *also I hate autocorrect
Re: November FET
@BusinessWife - such good news! Hoping all goes smoothly! So we have an FET Nov. 15 (@Irisheyes81) and Nov. 17! Good days!
@coco305 - yey AF!
LOL!
Hoping I can join yall on that week!!!

Baby Born born early @ 33.5 weeks due to Pre-e
Back for # 2!
@jamieh2000 I think its all about landmark hurdles. Once your donor gets to her baseline (and isn't ku!) you will breathe easy for 2 seconds and then start fretting about the next thing (follies, then embies, then your own lining and etc) Theres never a shortage on stuff to have anxiety about!!
so nice you are going to the smokies! My DH and I are going to drive up the Hudson river valley this weekend and see the leaves changing too!

@BusinessWife That date looks so great!!! I'm so happy for you and I'm excited for the upcoming events!!! Wooohooo!
@coco305 and @JamieH2000 Yay for the AF! Hope you are all feeling ok.
@tinjp78 I love that owl!!!

I just wish it was treated like any other horrible diagnosis, especially for insurance purposes.

sunnyrain2 I love that you wear a skirt and don't mess with the pants situation.

@artemis618 Welcome to the thread! That is indeed a great birthday present.
@BusinessWife OMG that day seems so auspicious that I'd start painting the nursery now! I like the number 17 anyway but since it's your dad's birthday, that's really special. Eeeeee!!
hey y'all! Crazy busy day at work and just getting on here! I didn't see that whacko nurse since she only does the scheduling. My lovely monitoring nurse wouldn't let me leave without a hug and big smiles...
so it looks like I still haven't ovulated, but I'm sure it's going to be soon. I'm supposed to go back early next week but I'm gonna go mid week because it'll push back my priming a couple days (it felt like I was on estrogen forever last ivf cycle!)
my lining is decent (8.2) and I've got about the same number of antral follicles as last time at this point (9 afc)
right now still just waiting for o....
and if you can believe it, I forgot to ask about my polyp!!! Lol I blame my DH because he had to work early and couldn't come with me!
Anyway, so odd that they would not mention anything! Like, that you would have to remember to ask about it!
This nurse is looking more and more suspicious by the day!
I also don't know any clinic who would transfer with uterine issues...
Question: at my cd2 u/s this morning they saw a large hemorrhagic cyst on my right ovary. The nurse said it's from the ivf meds and they need to check my bloodwork before they can officially start me on estrogen for FET. I'm kind of freaking out. Should I be worried?
I think it depends on if the cyst is producing hormones... sometimes they do.. it would throw off your cycle possibly. Again... it might just be an old cyst not doing anything, and I think if its dormant it shouldn't matter since you are not doing a stim cycle.
so... heres my update from my doc...
I will talk to my acupuncturist tonight and get some perspective
Email from my doc:
my response:
no response yet, but I'm sure she is in the thick of monitoring and procedures so I don't expect anything for a while...

@artemis618 We really are cycle buddies! I don't have a FET date yet but the nurse estimated Nov 1-3.
I’m a little curious about what all I can blame on estradiol side effects

@dragonette505 you would think that since they know you want to do a fresh transfer they would have mentioned this before. I find it hard to believe something that small can cause significant issues but of course I am no expert. Your response was perfect. I would also ask if it is scat tissue, could it be from your previous procedures and then isn't it possible to create more by removing it?
For what it's worth I did estrogen priming before my ivf cycle and had zero side effects from estrogen...unlike follistim/menopur...
dragonette505 What! I'm glad you have a sweet nurse that gave you a hug
adirat Have you ever had a cyst before? I don't know why they would matter for FET but I also have no idea! These meds do a number on our bodies. I'm on pins and needles for your update
AFM: I start Lupron on 10/22, estrace and estrogen patches on 11/1 and progesterone 11/11. My thyroid is high (4.9) and MUST get lower to transfer. I'm getting it retested Friday to see if that was a fluke and staying on synthroid. Come on thyroid.....
I can't believe you're just hearing about this polyp now, @dragonette505 - and I'm so sorry about the cyst, @adirat.
These IVF drugs, they f*ck you up so hard.
Hoping there will be no delays and that you can move forward.
ETA: typed cyst twice, when I meant polyp and cyst
@irisheyes81 How frustrating -- is the thyroid issue new or are you already on synthroid? I take levoxyl for hypothyroid so I feel you...my levels always have to get checked...
