What helps with Restless Leg Syndrome? Some nights are SO rough and if I think about it too much I get in my head and I'm afraid I'll go crazy. I know things like taking magnesium, rx, etc., I'm wondering if there's anything in the moment? The best I've found is DoTerra Deep Blue Rub (like Icy Hot).
I feel like this may have been mentioned before, but I can't recall the consensus/can't find the discussion- for STMs+, are you replacing the bottles you previously used? DS will be 18 months old when this baby arrives, so the bottles I have are about that old. We pretty much exclusively used Dr. Brown bottles, but I'm not sure if I should replace them, just replace the nipples, or if they'd be okay just being sanitized? My google research has returned conflicting results- anyone have any thoughts?

I would think the bottles would be fine, but that you might want to replace nipples. It seems like sanitizing the rest of the parts would be okay, but nipples dont seem like they would last that long
@kayemjay2 we used Tommee Tippee last time and I emailed the company and they basically said to change the nipples.
"Our bottles will last as long as your baby needs them, but nipples take a little more hammering, and should be changed regularly if you can. We suggest about every 8-weeks for variflow and every 12-weeks for Easi-Vent and Ultra nipples. We’d also recommend changing nipples for each baby just to ensure they are extra clean! We hope this helps."
Thanks, ladies! @bacorrea - I can't believe they suggest replacing nipples every 8-12 weeks! That seems nuts to me. Definitely won't be doing that...hahaha

On the subject, how will I be able to tell what flow all my bottle nipples are? I have a bunch of sample Avent (which I think are NB), some Como Tomo, and some Joovy.

I've always been told no Icy Hot use while pregnant so you may want to check with your doctor about the DoTerra rub (in case you haven't already!) Have you had your iron levels checked recently? RLL can sometimes be worse if your iron levels are low!

Do we have a thread for after baby care? I know we've talked about it somewhere, but I can't remember which thread it was and can't seem to find an individual one (I could be calling it the wrong name). After seeing @nda_roxybabe's baskets I realized I don't remember what all I need in mine! If we don't have a thread, any objections to starting one? If its not worth its own thread that's fine too...
Pretty sure the breastfeeding basket info is somewhere in the breast feeding thread...do we have a spreadsheet for that, too like the hospital bag?

@kayemjay2, I replaced our bottles but only because the plastic looked past it's prime. We used the dishwasher on them probably more than we should have. If they had looked in good shape, I just would have replaced the nipples.
@Kipperoo good luck today! Can't wait to read your birth story!
Can't remember who to tag...but...
Lawn-Roomba sounds amazing
No loose stool but little waves of nausea this third tri has been different from my first experience
Didn't use a traditional changing pad; we changed DS in a pack n play for the first few months then we bought some large waterproof multiuse pads and used them in the couch or bed; love these things
Replacing nipples only; mainly used Lifefactory bottles but also the Comotomo during BF.
To tell the difference in flow rates, there will be markings or more holes. For instance, on the Comotomo nipples, 1 hole for slowest rate them 2 for the next and so on.
@hp_momma I got the okay on the rub, fortunately. It's been about a month since my iron was checked, but I had some RSL then too. Hmm.. I'll ask her at my appointment Friday.
@BabyMC517 I have no objection to a thread on stuff like that. It would've saved me some time googling over the weekend and it'll help me with anything I missed.
@nda_roxybabe regarding which size the nipples are. We used avent and they have a number on the nipple near the bottom rim. 0 to 4 (I think) is slowest to fastest. Inside the sample avent we have from target there should be a guide pamphlet. Sorry I don't know about the other brands.
@nda_roxybabe I don't have any advice for RLS but the Deep Blue Rub has really helped my back when I cant sleep through the pain. My Dr was ok with me using it.
@nda_roxybabe maybe there will be some things you didn't find I think I've saved some stuff on Pinterest while ago, but doesn't hurt to ask everyone! I'll start the thread

I've never had a roomba so I don't know the details of how they work but a lawn roomba sounds like trouble to me. Like what is going to stop it from moving out onto the side walk and street? Or from eating specific landscaping?

SITB
depends how many holes are in the nipple, Avent, NB is 1 hole, then 3m+ is 2, 6m+ is 3 etc, from memory, if you squish the nipple between your fingers it's easier to see the holes

@SKZW I swear by Burts Bees Mama Bee belly cream. I know better than to believe it will prevent stretch marks but it is a great long lasting moisturizer to combat the stretching and dry skin discomfort.
@SKZW I also recommend the Burts Bees Mama Bee belly cream. It's really awesome for when the skin starts to dry out! And even though it's thick, it seems to soak in great and not feel lotiony all day. Sadly, I needed more but my Target only had the oil, so I'll have to see if that's as awesome.
@vrj0522: great question! Similar to an indoor robot vacuum, for which you place magnetic tape at the top of a staircase or at a doorjamb of a room you don't want it to enter, a robotic lawn cutter is "told" by a (sometimes electric?) wire that is buried around the edges of the lawn. You bury it just a few inches down and the cutter senses where to stop & turn around. The indoor vac uses a continuous laser spinning around and scanning to avoid obstacles (not just furniture, but wandering pets too!) so I bet the mower has got to be similar.
Plus, the higher-end mowers are GPS mapped, so they learn exactly where to go! Amazing, right?
I know we discussed where the baby can safely sleep, however have we discussed what clothing baby sleeps in, swaddle, sleep sack, etc?
@mcvgal - When DS was really little, we used these but he quickly decided that he hated his arms being swaddled, so we switched to these and velcroed it under his arms. He was a winter baby, so the fleece was nice. I'll probably use the SwaddleMe this time and get some Halo sleep sacks that aren't fleece. We ended up using the Halo sacks until DS1 was standing up in his crib. Now, he sleeps in zip up fleece or cotton footie pjs.

@vrj0522 as @SKZW said you bury a wire 2-3 inches below the ground around your perimeter and along plant beds/house and once it reaches the wire it turns around so it won't ever go out of your yard. Nice thing is that Seymour (our automower) is quiet so you can't hear him unlike regular mowers. Plus he goes all night and in the rain. As for our roomba she has sensors so no need for magnetic tape or anything you just push start and let her go. We have virtual walls (towers) we place around things like the dog bowls, Christmas tree etc and she doesn't go in those areas. It's amazing the amount of dirt and dog hair she collects
@nda_roxybabe Dr. Browns and Tommee tippee have numbers on the nipples also
@jayandaplus yes, AS is anatomy scan. My doctor prefers to do it later so he can see more heart abnormalities versus focusing more on the physical abnormalities. He said by waiting the heart is more developed and therefore he can see it more clearly.
The scan went well, although I think by waiting the baby was more curled up, so they weren't able to see some things. For instance, she couldn't see the baby's face for a cleft lip. She said that the heart looks good though and everything should be ok.
@nda_roxybabe medela has a s m or f on the rim of their nipples which would be hidden when the collar is on the bottle. With regards to dr browns they had ages associated with each nipple. My son is still on a 4 since hes 18 m and shouldn't be using a bottle... we usually use sippee cups at this time but this morning I was so lazy I grabbed the only clean thing i had which was a bottle lol.
Avent regular beginning bottle nipple is a 1 the 0 is a premie nipple then it goes to 2 3 and 4

I second all of those. Then, because DS was Houdini and could bust out of anything with Velcro, we also used these and then graduated to these before transitioning out completely.
Totally random, but it just hit me that the end of the semester is 2 weeks away and then a week of finals. That just made me go oh crap baby is really going to be here soon! Not sure why it took that to really make it sink in!
"A day without laughter is a day wasted." ~Charlie Chaplin
@nda_roxybabe - I had been dealing with a ton of RLS earlier in my pregnancy but started taking a magnesium supplement at the recommendation of my doctor for some slightly elevated blood pressure issues and the RLS has pretty much disappeared. She told me I could take up to 450mg per day and I'm only taking 250mg right now. The few times I've had it I've soaked my feet in epsom salt with a few drops of wintergreen essential oil and its worked really well.
I had a slight little scare this morning, I woke up around 5am to pee and noticed blood in the toilet and on the toilet paper. I drank some water and laid down for about an hour and got up and still had some bleeding so I took a shower thinking I'd probably need to go into the doctors office this morning. After my shower the blood was completely gone, so I called the doctor just to let them know and they told me that as long as I wasn't soaking through half a pad or having contractions and the baby was moving normally that it was ok. She said it was probably just some bleeding for DTD the night before.
Random question: anyone have a rec for a good baby book? Although I've been less than stellar at keeping up with my son's, I would like to at least attempt to fill one out for this babe too.
Thanks @kayemjay2@christinawild that's what we've been using in the NICU. I just remembered swaddling the boys in muslin blankets. DD's nurses said to only use the halo sleep sacks to allow the legs to move.
Sorry @Bailey8809 that's scary. I had bleeding once this pregnancy and twice with DS, both times because of my cervix being irritated (twice it was sex, once it was just from walking a lot).
@Bailey8809 sorry you had a scare! Bleeding is always so nerve wracking. Glad to hear your doctor said everything sounds ok
I also have to say I'm VERY impressed with all you ladies who've mentioned DTD. Pretty sure it's been a good 2 months for us, and I have no intentions of opening up shop until I'm desperate to evict this baby sometime in about 6 weeks. Wife of the year over here!
