Speaking of first world struggles, my house cleaner came down with an illness last week and didn't make it for our regular biweekly cleaning. Rescheduling has been a nightmare and I just want my house cleaned before I come home with this baby. Ugh. We have had zero problems with her for the last 2 years...this is the worst time for her to get flakey.
My feet are swollen. I just moved a little ottoman thing that's in my office under my desk so I can put my feet up...
That sucks @Kipperoo! Hopefully you can get something scheduled soon! I feel like I'm the maid in our house and we don't even have kids yet! Constantly picking up after H. Its like seriously? You are just going to leave your socks and clothes next to the bed or in the bathroom and not take them to the closet that's like 3 feet away from you? Men.

@ChristinaWild I agree, you should be allowed to go home. No one can work under such nauseating conditions.
@Kipperoo Is there someone else from the same company who can come?
My midwife still has not sent me a letter stating I need reduced time at work, and I'm meeting with my manager in a few hours to discuss reducing my schedule. I'm nervous about working today, nervous about meeting with my manager, and annoyed the midwives don't have their sh!t together better. Also had a dream last night I ended up in L&D for contractions, so my psyche is obviously handling this all beautifully.

@ChristinaWild That sucks! I love pizza and it's H's favorite food so we normally get it a lot. Well, this baby must hate pizza because it's the one food I have not be able to eat this entire pregnancy. SO weird.
@WombThereItIs I have a laptop plus dual monitors at work, they actually took me a while to get used to. Well now I don't like doing some stuff at home where I have just my laptop. Sometimes you just NEED more screen. H has 3 in his home office as well as his laptop. He does IT stuff though.

@Kipperoo I'm actually having some of the same problems. We have a lady come monthly, right now i have her set to come the day before my c-section. I'm hoping she will be able to squeeze us in if I go into labor early.
I don't have a bitch yet, but i'm sure I will, I like the idea of a weekly thread.
@jayandaplus even if you don't get the letter from your midwife your manager should still be required to reduce your hours at your request, they may want a 2 week notice though without the letter if they are a stickler...
Hope they produce your letter so you don't have to wait!

My bitch is the fact that I can't get the bump on the hospitals internet. It is tagged as a "sex education" page. Mobile bumping is a pain.

@bacorrea I feel you on people parking too close. Do I want to park further out and walk or take the close spot and risk people parking close to me. If I'm with DH I make him wait for me to get in and out before parking.

I'm aggravated at the cashier at the Gap. I needed a few things for DS and to make a return for DH. So I finally made my first baby purchase for our Tream Green baby (a few little girls outfits...just in case and since my EDD is in the return window). After crossing town, I realized that I was double charged on an item and I had to trek across town for them to issue a refund. So much for a quick lunch.
Don't kill yourself writing out huge paragraphs in each note. Surprisingly, it only needs to be 3 lines long. 1, emotion, "it was so nice to see you!" "I was thrilled to receive your package!"; 2, then you mention the gift, "I love the xyz," "abc will be so handy," and never say "money," say "your generous gift," same goes for gift cards; and 3, a line about the givers, like a reference to something you chatted about, or looking forward to seeing them again soon. Anything further is optional! Yes, I paraphrased this from Miss Manners. Think KISS.
@RainyDays86: I couldn't find proof of this, but I always thought the etiquette for meals being dropped off is (1) a verbal thank-you in person suffices or (2) a speedy phone call works if you weren't present to receive. But either of these is followed by a thank-you note if/when you have to return the dish (though in my family this is usually on a post-it!) And: If it's someone outside of your circle of close friends and family, then a note is def warranted to be sent (regardless of the above) b/c said "further removed" person went farther out of their way in the first place, and that needs to be acknowledged in writing. My bitch is that my daycare lady (in home) was obviously miserable when I dropped off DD this morning. I appreciate her being open when she has a bad cold, but I woukd have liked to have known. I might have stayed home with DD instead of sending her into the germs.
