  • @BabyMC517 oh hell yes I did! Honestly is the best policy, right?

It's hard. I've had to change my throw and my back aches pretty badly towards the end of game 2 and game 3 but my doctor is ok with it as long as I don't get hurt and use a lighter ball. We have 4 weeks left in bowling. I'll be 36 weeks when we are done.

Oddly, enough I've bowled my highest game and highest series ever while pregnant. Don't ask how.
  • @fbmandy55 I went bowling with MH and some friends a few weeks ago. I am not a good bowler ANYWAY, but it was one of the worst games I've ever bowled (Not a frequent bowler, but usually fairly consistent) by probably 40-50 points. I blamed my change in center of gravity.... you're making me look bad!! ;)
  • @fbmandy55 I bowled till I was 20 weeks w my first and I had some great series while pregnant.
@ShadeofGreen816 nothing beats an army bowling alley!

"So, when are you due? Or have you just been packing on the pounds lately?"
  • now im getting your due when? where's the baby, this must be your first. No its my second (watch eyes pop) its getting annoying
  • @kat81 Weird! I still have been lucky in that I don't get too much "advice", just alllllll the annoying comments about how big I am. I'm SO over it. No pregnant woman wants to be told she's huge, even if you put it in the same sentence as adorable.

  • @kat81 that is weird! I have had a few people ask if it's my first but no one just assumes. You must look really young!
  • @kat81 I do get more strangers making comments when I'm out solo than when I have DD with me. But most people ask if it's my first instead of assuming.

  • I casually said something about how my weight gain has leveled off to my mom and she responded "that's good because you were gaining really rapidly!" I won't talk specifics because I don't think it's healthy to, but I was *not* gaining rapidly. I told her the first time she made a comment that I was well within the range that my doctor said is normal. She's made comments about my weight my whole life, so it's no wonder I have a bit of a complex now.

I love this interpretation but at least one of the times it was over e-mail (it was someone I was in touch with about a prenatal fitness class.) This is my first pregnancy where I'm "advanced maternal age" so I'd love it if everyone thinks I'm 6-10 years younger! haha

This blows. My mom made lots of comments during my last pregnancy about my size and/or what I was eating & how much. We didn't live near her, so these were when we visited briefly and then when we took a weeklong vacation with my sister and her husband when I was quite far along, like 32 weeks. In all fairness, I DID gain too much weight and it was noticeably more than my first pregnancy, when we did live near her and she saw me more. But the comments got out of hand. DH and I were about to confront her on it (especially because she made comments in front of my SON) but we realized that my dad probably said something to her because it abruptly stopped right before we were going to say something.

This pregnancy she hasn't said anything but we again don't live nearby. I think I'm smaller...like the baby is measuring small, and my weight gain is...so-so. It will be interesting to see if she says anything when they come to visit for Easter.

  • I have this coworker that has really struggled with being supportive throughout my pregnancy. Always making comments about doom and gloom things that might happen to baby or me, throwing a fit about the date for my work shower, and rolling her eyes when people compliment my bump. Well, the other day, I was late to eat lunch because I had been fighting a ridiculous bloody nose in my classroom, and I hadn't been sitting for more than 5 minutes when she says, "oh! I don't mean this in a rude way, or want hurt your feelings, but I noticed yesterday that your nose is spreading and getting flat like mine did when I was pregnant. It's such a crappy thing to have happen. I hope that doesn't hurt your feelings."

can't seem to tag you correctly! I honestly think I would have punched that girl in the face by now. It sounds like shes majorly jealous of you. I am pretty sure pregnancy doesn't make your nose spread out. She may have gained weight in her face but its pretty impossible to spread your nose... just ignorance. I wish there was a way you could pull a joke on her or something!
  • @schoppekd - oh, heck no! She's such a jerk!

  • L1C4gal, it's so weird to hit on a pregnant lady! What's the goal there? I had that happen when I was about 6 months pregnant, and I was very obviously pregnant at 6 months.

  • @kns1988 Right?! He even looked down at my obviously-pregnant belly first (which is why I thought I was getting a baby-related comment). People are weird!
  • This morning alone I have gotten asked twice if I'm due soon and how I look ready to pop... I have 7 weeks left!
  • I was feeling cute in a dress yesterday until DH said woah your belly almost look fake. It's gotten big and so round. Thanks sweetie

  • Still getting wide eyed looks when I say I have 6 weeks left so now I'm getting snarky (okay, snarky for me) and saying "6 weeks. I look big and round because I'm carrying so high! *Huge grin*"
H likes to remind me I still have a bit of time. I like to remind him I'm in my 3rd trimester I'm allowed to be uncomfortable.

    What. the. f*ck.
    That ^.
  • I was walking past a coworker who was talking with a customer. The customer sees me, interupts my coworker, and exclaims loudly (and off topic), "And she's PREGNANT!" My coworker and I exchange glances and I give the customer an awkward smile/look as I keep on walking. People are so weird.
  • Today some random person asked me when I walked up to the grill for my egg sandwich when am I due. I'm at the point where -I'm sorry but why do you care why do you think I want to talk to you ? Then she follows it up with when her daughters due...  OK random lady why would I care about your daughters due date? Can a girl just go get breakfast. Sorry feeling snarky today
