I am the worst role model for birth control. I hate hormonal birth control and condoms, so we've generally relied on pulling out, and we've only gotten pregnant when/as soon as we tried. Which is great and all, except we still ended up with an oops. Just not sure if it's A or B.
My shower is tomorrow and still haven't bought hostess gifts. What did/will you get your hostess(es)?
I got mine personalized coffee mugs that say "Aunt NAME Est 2017" ordered off Etsy. Since it is tomorrow, tho I like the idea of a bottle of wine + cute wine glass or gift card to a restaurant.
I just got an invite from DH's cousin to a wine and wash. Why would you invite a pregnant lady to that? I've been craving wine for months now, but I just can't bring myself to drink it (don't care if others do, I just know if I do, I will worry incessantly). Whhhhhy invite the pregnant lady??

Me & H were in a group text with some relatives. They started giving us shit about the name we chose for this baby, and H got pissed. Responded with " Well that's the name I chose, I would appreciate it if you kept any opinions y'all have to yourselves."
@Aussie45 I'm of the camp that it's rude to decide on someone's behalf and exclude them from your guest list. Always better to invite and let the person make their own decision to accept or decline. But I don't understand this party - hair washing? What??
@MommaBean I normally would to want to extend invitations to everyone too, but I'm sick of all the invites to her jewelry parties. I never go or buy her stuff because I wear the same rings and necklaces. I appreciate the thought, but I'm so sick of all the invites. Same goes with the 31 bags, scentsy, make up, or any other random money making party I get invited to. I'm just not interested. And this by far has been the weirdest sounding party yet! I'm not sure what the purpose is other than drinking the wine.

I finally feel accomplished today, DH and I got our travel system(stroller w/car seat)! We got lucky too because we went into Babies R Us and they were out of stock of the model we wanted, so we went to order it and were told that the store wouldn't be ordering anymore and offered to sell us the floor model. Since nothing looked drastically wrong with it, and the warranty papers were included we went for it. We got another 10% off the clearance price so I was pretty stoked, wound up being $200 less than what I budgeted for. I also managed to snag a couple of different types of cloth diapers to experiment with from this ridiculously helpful lady at a private baby shop. I'll definitely be going back there since they have really good prices to top off their stellar customer service. I just feel like I finally accomplished something today as a soon to be parent.

I'm with you, I despise those "parties" and avoid them at all costs
