@chef'swife so glad to hear things are going well!! He's super adorable.
Does anyone else find that certain foods give their kid hiccups? I can almost without fail count on my kid getting hiccups from apples. Which I eat every day, because I crave them so much. So little dude has ALL the hiccups. He's going to hate apples his whole life long!
@Patience7150, go with the Uggs. It was Uggs and crocs at the end of my first pregnancy! Flip flops for my June baby and with this one I would rather just wear my slippers, lol
Married - 7/29/06 Ben and Maggie - 4/10/09 Mia - 6/16/11 Surprise! due 2/23/17
So H and I just rearranged the living room to accommodate an air mattress for my sister since she's coming down for a week plus I pulled out the swing so we knew where it would go. 33 days until my edd, 36 until my sister is here. Holy balls.
A random and kind of looking for advice- dd(2) has woken up two times tonight with poop. Very abnormal to even hear from her after bedtime really, so it's super weird for her to poop in the middle of the night. Anyway her little booty is BRIGHT red. Like it looks like it's on fire and she was crying when she pooped and screaming when I had to clean it up. Both times we layered a lot of diaper cream on. She's back to sleep now, but wondering if anyone has any good suggestions for me to help her tomorrow. I thought maybe some nakey time with no diaper to help air it out would be good. Even though she's my second I kind of feel lost. Ds like never got diaper rashes and she just seems to have so much more sensitive skin down there. Anyway any recs to help soothe this and take care of her? My heart is like breaking at her crying over this.
Last night DH was so sweet and offered to take all DD's over night feedings. Well at 2AM I hear him yell "FXCK!" so loud that it woke me up! My first thought was "Oh no, he dropped the baby!" So I got up to see what was going on...he comes in the bedroom and tells me "She bit my nipple!" Apparently, he was snuggling her shirtless while her bottle was warming and she decided to latch on to him thinking she would get some milk. I couldn't stop laughing hahaha...at least I know she should have a good latch whenever we are able to breast feed!
If one more person asks how I am and I respond with "tired" and they immediately say "oh, well you just wait until the baby is here!" I am going to throat punch them. I am well aware of how tired I will be then but that doesn't negate my pregnancy tired. rageeee.
@lct2008 sometimes too much diaper cream gives the opposite effect. Try giving her naked time without anything on her bum. She could have sensitivities to diapers or wipes etc. Try using a cloth wipe like a washcloth and just water. Also I wouldn't recommend baby powder.
I just helped my SIL deal with this with my nephew and it was hard to figure out but he's doing better now. Good luck, I hope it clears up!
@lct2008 if her poo's are still yucky, I'd put a layer of Vaseline on her bottom. It has worked as the best barrier for us, that way the poo won't further aggravate her skin. If she's able to go bottomless for a while, I'd do some powder to help with friction when she sits down, or brushes her bottom past anything.
Thanks Ladies. I'm going to attempt some nakey time and maybe a warm bath later. She hasn't had a change in diapers or wipes and she hasn't eaten anything new. Although how the rash is it would make me assume it's food related as its like where poo touched her and like it burned her.
Hi everyone! Disappeared for a bit due to holiday chaos and the plague invading our house :-p but hopefully back and participating a bit more again. Hope everyone is well!

I found out how best to put compression socks on! Stack pillows on bed, lean back against them Carefully bunch sock up and grip firmly Reach towards foot Cry
And this is why I preferred my summer pregnancy over this winter one :-) Sure it was a bit warm, but more tolerable in flowy dresses and flip flops than having to deal with putting on winter boots and coats and all this business with my big belly in the way ;-p
@lct2008 definitely naked time. Try to keep the area clean and dry (using mild soap and water to clean area). If diaper cream with zinc hasnt been working, no harm in trying the Vaseline at night. If rash and discomfort persists you can try a 50/50 mix of OTC hydrocortisone and miconazole creams. Hope baby girl feels better soon!
A complete stranger on a work elevator yesterday asked me when I was due. So I tell her. Then she says, "Oh good, when you waddled on here I knew it had to be soon."
@LilyASF42 Not me. Give me ALL the winter pregnancies. I thought I would die (figuratively) from how bad the heat was. DH used to try to turn off the air condition and I told him if he knew what was good for him, he would back away slowly. It was just too hot.
@Gretchypoo I hope you start to feel better! It sucks when people in the household share their sicknesses. Only so far you can get away from them.

A lady at the grocery store yesterday asked how much longer I had. Told her about 3 weeks and she said I looked so low I probably won't go that long. I feel like I won't go that long...
@ColeBug89 That is so funny!! I'll have to tell my H that story when I get home!
Our group of close friends has been hit by the flu. Every house has been hit since Christmas, except ours. I'm trying to avoid it at all costs! It's helpful that DH is a nurse I think, because we are always exposed to all sorts of gross germs.
I wore my nice work shoes instead of my slipper shoes today because they looked better with my pants. I just got them on black Friday and in a wide so they'd fit until I wasn't swelling anymore. I've been regretting it all morning and taking them off when I'm sitting at my desk because they hurt. Back to comfy shoes tomorrow!
I'm down to one pair of sad, grey Keds. DH is constantly making fun of me, saying that they don't even fit me right (which they don't). Heaven help me if it really snows; there is NO way I'm fitting these marshmallows into any of my boots.

I detest when people say this. It's even worse when they know you already have a kid and you've been there.
Now it's like, I'm prego tired and I'm chasing around a toddler. I'm fully aware of what's ahead and it scares me shitless. Don't need your BS pep talk, tyvm.
You notice they always seem happy when they tell you this? Like a "haha" tone to it. Ugh.

My contribution to today's verbal diarrhea discussion:
One of our board members (female, at least) just walked in while I was standing at the copier and said "Welp, you look pregnant from behind now!" WTAF.
Why do people feel like they always have to make a comment to a pregnant woman? And if you really can't resist, why not just say "you look great, congrats"? It's like people lose all brain cells around pregnant women. I'm sorry @Xstatic3333
